2K Games Developer Sale at Humble Store

The Humble Bundle is a well-known thing to PC gamers. The concept is that a selection of games will become available for as little as $1, with additional games being unlocked when you pay a little more. With you able to define how much you give to Humble Bundle’s creators, the game owners and from a selection of charities, you are able to decide just where your money goes. More recently they began the humble weekly bundle, a smaller time offer (at the moment the weekly bundle is titled “Japan Edition All-Stars”) and then the Humble store, offering games with a confirmed percentage going to charity. If you’re a fan of 2K’s games then it may be worth checking the site out as they are currently having a sale which will intrigue even the most reserved gamers.

Xcom Enemy Unknown for £6.24 (75% off), Bioshock Infinite for £4.99 (75% off), Civilization 5 £4.99 (75% off) and the expansions are both £4.99 each (Brave New World and Gods and Kinds).

Get the latest Sid Meier’s Civilization, Beyond Earth, for 50% at only £14.99, or if you feel like a great shooter with an interesting story and characters then why not grab some of the Borderlands series. The original Borderlands (GOTY edition with all the DLC’s) is only £4.99 (75% off) while Borderlands 2 (GOTY edition) is £8.74  (75% off). The latest in the borderlands series, Borderlands the pre-sequel, is also included at £11.99 (60% off).

See a few games you like? Spend over £10 and add Darkness II to your cart to receive it for free. Good games, good deals, and great causes, what isn’t there to like about that!?

Humble Weekly Bundle ‘Japan All Stars Edition’ is Super Cheap!

The huge discounts during Steam sales and various bundles makes PC gaming an affordable proposition once you’ve paid for the hardware. Certainly, the most famous bundle company is Humble which offers a host of great games at discounted prices every week. The latest Humble Weekly Bundle entitled, “Japan Edition All Stars” includes Vanguard Princess Plus Hilda Rize, Lith, Kurmi DLC packs, Unholy Heights and One Way Heroics for $1 or more!

Although, I would strongly recommend purchasing the enhanced pack for Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae alone! This bundle also comes with REVOLVER 360 RE:ACTOR, Astebreed and the games previously mentioned. At the time of writing, you only need to pay a mere $3.28 to acquire this excellent selection of games.

All of the included games are redeemable on Steam and if there are any duplicates it’s easy to gift them to a friend. I’ve always been fond of bundles involving niche indie games which can often be overlooked due to the ginormous quantity of games on the Steam store. This is certainly one of the more interesting bundles in recent memory and well worth a look!

Do you still buy indie games on Steam, or simply wait for a bundle to get them at the cheapest possible price?

UK All-Format Gaming Charts – Week Ending 28 December 2013

Another week and another busy week for the UK all-format gaming charts. One things is for certain this month, next-gen consoles are off to a rock solid start and while many will be debating who the winner is, truth is Sony and Microsoft are both winning in their own respects and it’s a promising start for the games industry as we enter 2014.  The new consoles have helped along game sales too and with 11 of the top twenty games being available on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 in one respect or another, and three of them being exclusively next-gen (Knack, Forza 5 & Dead Rising 3) its clear that software sales are doing well.

Still amazed this week to see that Aliens: Colonial Marines is back in the charts, it returned to 20th place last week and is still there this week, seriously, who is buying this game? Collect-em-all family fun is still going strong with Disney Infinity and Skylanders: Swap Force and will keep up all heavily indebted to publishers for at least another few months with a steady release of new characters.

Lego Marvel has dropped down to 7th place to make way for both Grand Theft Auto V and Need For Speed: Rivals, but beyond that we see that the big four, Battlefield, Assassin’s Creed IV, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Fifa 14 remain in the same spots as the previous week, showing some clear Christmas favourites for the holiday season.

The promotion includes Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander Forged Alliance, Red Faction Armageddon, The Guild 2, and Neighbours from Hell Compilation. For those who pay $6 or more, the extended package includes Darksiders II, Painkiller Hell & Damnation, ArcaniA, and SpellForce 2 Faith in Destiny.

Gamers can also choose how their purchase is divided among the developer, two worthy charities, and Humble Bundle. The participating charities are Child’s Play Charity and the American Red Cross.

“The Humble Weekly Sale is an excellent example of the quality and breadth of titles we now have, enabling us to get involved in something of genuine mutual benefit to all those involved,” said Thomas Reisinger, Key Account Manager Online Sales from Nordic Games. “This is such a fantastic deal for gamers and an innovative pricing structure to boot, PLUS it’s all for a good cause. This is an excellent and worthy way to get our recently expanded portfolio of top-tier titles in to gamers’ hands.”

“We’re thrilled to be working with Nordic Games and excited to offer this great range of titles in a Humble Weekly Sale,” said John Graham, Co-Founder and COO of Humble Bundle. “Our Weekly Sale series has drawn a huge amount of interest from gamers, and introduced lots of new purchasers to games from our partner developers and publishers.”

Humble Weekly Sale: Rochard – Week of June 20th

This week Humble Weekly sale is for the science fiction game Rochard, which was also featured in the Humble Indie Bundle 6. Of course we can’t stop there. You will also get the Rochard Soundtrack. The first and only Downloadable Content, Hard Times, which will give you 4 additional levels. You will also receive a Digital Art Book which will include exclusive game and concept art. Of course if you have been following HumbleBundle.com for awhile now, you likely already have this game. Though you might not have the Digital Art Book or the DLC for the game.

This weeks bundle does not have a beat the average, and it is not like one of the first Weekly Bundles where it had a price set either. This bundle is yours for just one dollar. Of course I doubt that you will only donate one dollar, I am sure all of you will donate a fair amount. Now this game sells for $9.99 on Steam, the DLC sells for $1.99, lastly the sound track sells for $13.99, unfortunately I was unable to find a retail price for the digital art book. All in all this bundle has a rough retail value of at least $30. Lucky for you though, you can pick this game up, with all of the goodies for $1.

At the current time, top donator for the Rochard Bundle is $50. And I feel that is a very nice contribution. Are you interested in picking up Rochard in this bundle, what are your thoughts about this bundle?
