X-Files is one of the most beloved science-fiction TV shows ever made and holds up remarkably well despite its age. The investigative skills of FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully create such a web of intrigue trying to track down extraterrestrial activities. As with any iconic TV-series, passionate fans are desperate for a return but also skeptical about ruining their nostalgic memories. In a rather surprising twist, X-Files is set for a return on January 24th, 2016 with the main cast members reprising their role.
To whet the appetite of science-fiction aficionados, Fox has released a teaser trailer with the focus, “we’ve never been in more danger”. It will be fascinating to see how modern technology is integrated into the narrative, which could make for a stellar series. I’m cautiously optimistic and hopeful the series can live up to everyone’s expectations. The trailer itself evokes quite strong emotions from someone who adores a number of classic X-Files episodes.
If the X-Files reboot is a resounding success, there’s no reason why other cult-classics shouldn’t return. We’ve already seen the continued revival of the science-fiction comedy Red Dwarf which is about to start filming its latest series.
What is your favourite science-fiction show of all time? Do you think it will return to our screens?

Take your car back to the ’80s, in K.I.T.T. style! ThinkGeek, the popular retailer that sells all kinds of cool geeky stuff, has added this cool USB phone charger to its list.
The phone charger is said to speak similar to K.I.T.T. from the popular ’80s TV show, Knight Rider, and it actually looks like the real thing. If you’ve seen the TV show, then you know straight away what I’m talking about.
From a technical perspective, the USB phone charger connects to any 12V power socket inside your car and comes with 2 USB ports. The manual also says that it can charge almost any electronic device, so you’re not restricted to use it only to charge your phone.
To add the K.I.T.T. flavor, its designers made the box play 11 different phrases from the TV show, including “If it weren’t for me you’d be walking” and “If you’ll permit me, I have a solution”. In addition to the latter, the phone charger lights up in different volumes, depending on the responses.
The K.I.T.T. style USB charger is said to cost you $29.99 and if you like to see more details, head on over to ThinkGeek’s website. So are you thinking of buying it? Let us know!

It isn’t long ago that Game of Thrones had four episodes leak onto torrent sites ahead of the official air time and now it has hit another series. The first episode of CBS’s upcoming Supergirl series has appeared on torrent sites six month ahead of its scheduled air time.
It isn’t even a low-quality version camera version or something like that, but the full-HD version and without watermark. The fact that it comes without watermark suggests another source than early screeners as it was the case for the Game of Thrones leak.
With the way this has pilot has appeared, some people are suggesting that this was a deliberate leak in other to increase the hype around the show – a marketing stunt. We’ll probably never know why, but it’s out there now. Experts don’t expect it to have as severe an impact as the Game of Thrones leak had either, simply because the official air time is so long time away and people will want more than just one episode.
Those who stick to the law will have to do with the 6minute trailer released earlier this month while those who don’t take that part so series can watch the full first episode. I for one can easily wait, especially because I don’t want to wait 6 months between watching the pilot episode and the following second one.
Jeremy Clarkson has been offered a new job just a day after being fired by the BBC, there is just one hitch: it’s in Russia. The Russian Armed Forces Broadcasting Company known as Zvezda has invited Clarkson to present their motoring television show.
Clarkson has not yet revealed if he’s interested in the offer, but the company has asked him to travel to Moscow to discuss further details. In a statement on the website they expressed deep honour to Clarkson and kindly asked for cooperation.
Do you think Clarkson would be interested? What kind of show could be pull off in Russia? I don’t know, but it’s sure fun to think about.

The X Files was a TV sensation when it hit out screen many years ago, but it has now been a staggering 13 years since the show came to an end, leaving TV viewers void of the intense and awkward sexual tension between Mulder and Scully, not to mention robbing us of what was essentially Scooby Doo for grown-ups; minus the talking dog side-kick.
FOX have taken an order for a new six-episode series of the show and to make things even better, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back on board to reprise their original roles, while creator/executive producer Chris Carter will be taking charge once again.
“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” said Carter. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
Production of the show is to begin Summer 2015, so it may be a while until we see it on our screen. With nine seasons already to its name, as well as 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, this is certainly one return I’ll be looking forward to.
Hollywood movie studio Paramount has commissioned that three new Terminator movies will be released as a stand-alone trilogy. Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed his return to the franchise in the upcoming Terminator movie, which begins shooting in January 2014. Deadline reports that Skydance Productions, Annapurna Pictures, and Paramount Pictures will release the first instalment on June 26th, 2015.
Arnold revealed his participation with the following statement: “I’m very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star as the Terminator.”, but the studios have yet to confirm Arnold’s involvement in the trilogy. They will need to work quickly; the rights to the franchise will revert to James Cameron in 2019, suggesting two additional Terminator films will hit theaters in a four-year period. The trilogy will be produced by siblings David Ellison and Megan Ellison (son and daughter of Oracle CEO Larry Ellison), whose previous work includes World War Z, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Zero Dark Thirty.
In addition to rebooting the Terminator series into a brand-new trilogy, Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures are developing a TV series that will add to the revived movie franchise. According to Deadline, the show is being written in conjunction with the first film of the new trilogy, set for release in June 2015. While plot details are scarce, the series will reportedly follow a critical moment from the original Terminator, but will go down a different narrative path.
The Terminator was last seen on TV only five years ago in the short-lived Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. For this outing, the companies involved want to create a universe reminiscent of what Marvel has recently done with its films and fan-favorite Agents of SHIELD, with storylines that intersect across mediums. Arnold Schwarzenegger has already signed on for the next film, though there is no word on if he’ll make his way to the small screen for this project.
