How To Make Titanfall 2 Better – Mechs With Swords!

We all love video games which stretch the imagination and add a new form of combat to the mix, be that controlling drones to spot your prey before they see you or having echo goggles to locate the biggest threat before you’ve even left your cardboard box, Titanfall did the opposite. Rather than going small, Titanfall wanted to make combat bigger, and it did so by introducing giant mechs, so how will Titanfall 2 beat this? Mechs with Swords!

Titanfall had two battlegrounds mixed into one, the fast and agile pilots running for cover amongst the giant towering Mech suits that seemed to rain down on the battlefield. When it came to combat you would often find yourself preparing a volley of rounds only to have a shield deflect them back at you, a fate which often caused pilots and mechs alike to fall, so the natural inclusion of swords will topple the shields kill count in classic mecha style!

With Titanfall 2 also offering a campaign mode, something that was sorely missing from the original, players can expect to enjoy the chaos on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.  With the original game suffering from a post-release drop in players, let us hope that Respawn, its creators, and masterminds, are able to keep the game running longer so more are able to enjoy the mecha battles that they will always crave for.

Massive Free Expansion Hits Black Desert Online

The visually stunning Korean MMO that is Black Desert Online just keeps on getting better and better. Aside from the fact that it already has one of the most in-depth and visual impressive character creation systems we’ve ever seen, as well as a rich world and booming in-game economy, the developers have now released the first of many expansions for the BDO universe.

The free “Mediah” update clocks in at a modest 2GB, and while that doesn’t sound like a lot, it adds more than a thousand new quests to the world! And if that wasn’t enough, you’ll find massive boss fights, such as the one against Kzarka, with hundreds of players capable of joining that single fight alone. There’s a new 40v40 PvP instance on Crimson Battlefield, and if that wasn’t enough, which it is, you’ll also find new weapons, armour, enchanted equipment and more for higher level players.

  • + World size increased by 30%
  • + Over 1,000 new quests
  • + Kzarka – An enormous boss that can take on hundreds of players at a time
  • + New guild missions, including special bosses that drop formidable weapons
  • + Crimson Battlefield – Instanced 40v40 skirmishes that players can queue for in groups of five or solo
  • + New weapons and more powerful armor set
  • + Craftable Alchemy Stones allow players to apply Attack, Defense, or Life bonuses to their equipment

The games developers, Pearl Abyss, aren’t stopping here either, teasing that new expansions will be coming thick and fast. Keep an eye on the horizon for ocean-based adventuring, allowing exploration above and below the waves, trading ships and even naval warfare. In short, Black Desert Online is already one of the most interesting MMOs out there and it just keeps on getting better in more ways than one.

“Daum Games today announced that Black Desert Online will be expanded with the huge Mediah region, tons of new quests, fierce bosses, and more as early as tomorrow, March 30. With the Mediah Expansion, players can rise to new levels of power and achieve greatness like never before.” – BDO

GTA V Redux Will Turn Your World Into a 4K Fireball

These days, when a company releases a game there tends to be two sets of development going on. Internally the company looks to bring out expansions, DLC, and fixes for the game, while externally everyday people look to create a whole new experience by modding the game to open up a whole new world for the player. One such mod looks to bring your GTA V experience to a whole new level with the GTA Redux mod.

The Grand Theft Auto V Redux mod is the successor to the “Pinnacle of V” mod, designed to bring the game to a whole new level of graphics with a variety of new and updated features.

Looking for 4K resolution? They’ve got it. How about updated explosion graphics? Got it. Smoke and particle effects? Got it. The mod even adds new debris textures, making your gameplay experience even closer to that of a movie than an actual game. Redux will include newly worked physics and explosions alongside an overhauled weapon system, meaning that not only does the game look better it will play better as well.

Anyone else excited by this? The mod is made by John Romito, and since releasing his website for the mod he’s received 987 requests for tweaks to be made to the game. Ranging from something as fundamental as an overhaul of the physics engine to re-branding every vehicle and billboard advert found in the game. With so many features being brought to the game it’s only a matter of time before we get the mod released and lose ourselves to the highly detailed world of Los Santos again.

Dark Souls 3 Trailer Reminds Us Why We Love Fantasy Games

Fantasy games are some of my favourite games. Being faced with unknown powers and abilities lets you use your imagination as you conquer dragons, dungeons and even gods. The Dark soul games are one such series that want’s you to feel everything about fantasy, and the latest Dark Souls 3 trailer reminds us just why we love fantasy games.

Starting with a selection of lore, reminding you about how the world came to be you are quickly thrown into a series of clips outlying that this isn’t your everyday happy green fantasy world. In the world of Dark Souls, darkness and fire are what rule the world, something you’ll constantly be fighting to survive against.

With a whole different level of graphics and characters and creatures that look like something out of a fantasy film, how long will you last when you face the inevitable creatures that seek to end your life?

With hordes of skeletons, dragon-like creatures, skeleton knights and giant worms after you, it will take everything you have to survive as the trailer reminds you that you walk among the accursed.

Set for release on April 12th, fans everywhere will be looking to grab the next game in the Dark Souls trilogy and after that trailer, we can’t blame them.

Overwatch’s Animated Short Could Reveal More Than a Backstory

In the modern-day and age, marketing materials make a game as much as the actual game itself. Some companies have learnt from this and Blizzard are no exception with the release of their latest animated short film showing us a little bit of story and a teaser of what’s to come. The animated short, titled Recall follows the story of Winston, the super-intelligent gorilla.

The animated short contains not just Winston but also Reaper, a crowd favourite thanks to his dark shotgun’s and teleporting abilities. Winston, on the other hand, is all about his technology, with his main weapon the Tesla Cannon showing enemies a good time while his jetpack and “barrier projector” (let’s call it a shield) all debuting in the short alongside the “primal rage”.

The short includes more than meets the eye on the first pass. With a screen showing a list of Overwatch members, 14 of which we haven’t seen since the early concept art was revealed for the game. With the game set to release in May, will we see more characters before then or will we have to wait for till after its release to start enjoying some of the characters that have been promised to players (at no extra cost we might add)?

Have you played Overwatch? Are you excited and who do you think should get a short film next? Until then we will leave you with the Cinematic trailer for the game

Battlezone is Coming to VR on PC and PlayStation 4

Do you remember the iconic Battlezone? It’s certainly been a long time since I played it and even then, I think it was on an Amiga, perhaps even a Commodore64 when I did! The world isn’t short of HD remakes, remasters and rereleased, but it seems we have room for one more, as Battlezone is getting a full VR makeover on PlayStation VR and on Oculus Rift on PC.

I couldn’t think of a better place for Battlezone that VR, with the image of sitting down in your brightly coloured tanks whizzing around a map like a heavy-duty match of Mario Kart. As if the prospect of multiplayer isn’t enough, the team at Rebellion has released a new campaign trailer for the game, showing you just how much has changed in the game over the years.

“I think VR has an unfair reputation for just offering cool bitesize experiences, but we want to come out firing and deliver the kind of substantial content early adopters are crying out for. Obviously we’re hoping that Battlezone will be one of the first PlayStation VR games players buy, but we’re also designing it to be the one they return to time and time again… once VR has taken over the world of course!” Rebellion CEO and Creative Director Jason Kingsley.

It’s certainly shaping up to be interesting, and with the developer touting procedurally generated as well as semi-randomized content so that each campaign is unique, so it should have some great replay value there too.
Are are you looking forward to Battlezone? Will you be playing it on PC or PlayStation?

System Shock Remastered Gets Impressive Gameplay Trailer

How many of you remember playing the original System Shock? Likely not that many of you, but for those of you who do, the release of this new pre-alpha gameplay trailer is sure to spark some nostalgia.

System Shock Remastered has been in development at Night Dive Studios, and while the game is still a long way off, they’ve decided to show us how things are progressing by releasing some early footage.

Built around the popular Unity game engine, System Shock Remastered is rebuilding the classic game from the ground up. The visuals have been given a major overhaul, the UI improved, and the sound tweaked. Of course, the most important aspects such as the game’s atmosphere are still present and accounted for too, such as Citadel Station, which is featured in the trailer below.

Remember, this is pre-alpha footage, so things are a bit rough, especially so for the enemies. However, for work this early, the environments are looking spectacular and some of the voiceover work sounds great too.

Are you looking forward to replaying System Shock or are you happy sticking with your memories of the original release? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Trailer Released for Fallout 4 – Automatron

Many of you have no doubt played Fallout 4, or like me, you’ve likely completed it too. Personally, I was more than a little disappointed with how the game ended, and felt little desire to venture out into the wasteland after the credits rolled, but with new content on the way, I may be convinced to pick up a Fat Man once again.

The new DLC is set to hit Fallout 4 just next week, and to celebrate, Bethesda has release their latest trailer, showing us a nice slice of what we can expect in a few days time.

The Automatron DLC will feature a new character called the Mechanist, who has released violent robots into the Commonwealth. Guess what the good news is? You get to go destroy them all! Not only can you unleash hell in the old gun-crazy fashion, but you’ll also be able to build your own robots, customise them, paint them, give them voices and hopefully more. If that doesn’t sound cool, then nothing does! We can’t wait to see what future DLC ideas Bethesda has come up with.

“The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions” – Bethesda

Automatron is launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC on March 22nd, with a price of $9.99.

Quantum Break Receives a Launch Trailer

When I first saw the gameplay trailer for Quantum Break, I wasn’t necessarily too impressed. Sure, its graphics seemed pretty good and the gameplay had a few  innovative features, but overall it just looked like a regular third-person shooter that would have me kill one wave of enemies after another until I got bored. I’m pleased to say that I was most likely wrong on all accounts, as Quantum Break is shaping up to be a very interesting game, not just because it requires DirectX 12 but also because it has a well-written story behind its action-packed scenes. The game was developed by Remedy Entertainment and will be published by Microsoft Studios, which means that it won’t be arriving on Steam.

The good news is that we don’t have to wait too long until its official launch date, as Quantum Break is scheduled for an April 5 release for PC and Xbox One consoles. And since that date is almost upon us, the game’s developers have decided to treat us with a launch trailer, which features the renowned “Come As You Are” track by Nirvana. Even though this game is likely to push my PC to its limits, I’m really looking forward to playing it for a bit.

Will you be picking up Quantum Break?

Naughty Dog Used Assassins Creed Concept Art

People are protective over their work, they care about the fact that if they spend time making something then they should at least have their name on it, being rewarded by recognition at least for their efforts. So imagine the surprise when Ubisoft noticed their work in Naughty Dog’s trailer for Uncharted 4?

The mistake was first noticed by none other than the head of content for Assassins creed Azaïzia Aymar.

The trailer has now been taken down but not before the creative Director of Ubisoft Montreal managed to get a quick tweet in regarding the matter.

In a comparison of the two images, you can see the only difference being a slight difference in colour and the lack of a pirate (why would you remove a pirate from a picture?)

The Assassins Creed Black Flag concept art

Naughty Dog has since responded saying that they messed up, with Neil Druckmann treating a link to a statement from the company.

In the statement NaughtyDog state that they “didn’t thoroughly vet the artwork used” for their story trailer. They go on to apologise to everyone at Ubisoft, who worked on Assassins Creed, the original artist and even their fans.

Futuristic DLC is Coming to Just Cause 3

The Just Cause series is renowned for its destructible environments and huge open world which allows the player to become involved in an assortment of mission types. On another note. Avalanche Studios gained a reputation for being a PC focused developer and ensures their games scale properly across a wide range of hardware configurations. The latest entry in the series, is quite similar to Just Cause 2, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It also features a graphical boost and looks superb on maximum details. Now that the game has been out for a little while, the studio has almost finished work on a futuristic DLC pack entitled, Sky Fortress.

Tobias Andersson, Senior Producer at Avalanche Studios described the upcoming DLC and said:

“If Just Cause 3 is over-the-top action then the Air, Land and Sea Expansion pass aims to stand on its shoulders and reach even higher,”

“An incredible amount of time has been spent ensuring every new item is fully integrated into the main game and can be used during existing missions. Rico’s new Bavarium Wingsuit will fundamentally alter the core gameplay of Just Cause 3 and we can’t wait to see the crazy stunts that players perform with it.”

This is an interesting departure from the Just Cause 3 setting and reminds me of iconic science-fiction shows. Clearly, it’s designed to offer something different and should encourage players to return to Just Cause 3. Personally, I haven’t played Just Cause 3 and waiting for a significant discount. Despite this, it’s received positive reviews and should meet your expectations providing you’re not expecting a huge leap from its predecessor.

The latest content pack includes new missions, challenges, the “Bavarium Splitter” assault rifle and a personal defence drone, all of which can be carried over into the main game. Coming in March 2016, Air, Land and Sea Expansion Pass owners can pick up the Sky Fortress Expansion Pack 7 days early on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Six Minutes Walking Dead: Michonne Gameplay Released

The Walking Dead is a highly popular series whether we talk comic books, TV show, or games for various platforms and if I had been a little younger it would have been on of the franchises I’d be hooked on. I’ve moved on from this genre, but millions of fans haven’t and I bet they’re excited about this new video preview which only just was released. The Walking Dead: Michonne is a mini-series that will feature three episodes instead of the usual five which is why it is being classified as a miniseries instead of just a normal season label. The first episode is called In Too Deep and it scheduled for February the 23rd, although two days later when it comes to Android and iOS devices. The next two episodes in this miniseries, episodes 2 and 3, will then launch in March and April respectively.

The newly released video contains six minutes and eight seconds of goodness for fans of the Walking Dead stories and best of all, it doesn’t really contain any spoilers. It is shown in a slow pace that will allow you to follow even if you haven’t had your morning coffee yet and aren’t fully awake. It doesn’t show any of the difficult choices either that the Telltale games are renowned for, but it does offer a glimpse into Michonne’s state of mind.

The new game should fill some of the gaps for comic fans. It is set between the issues number 126 and number 139 where Michonne was absent. Michonne has been a very mysterious figure in the story and readers have long speculated on her past. It is quite possible that the new game will shed some further light on the character, at least if we go by this newly released video.

With the Walking Dead seasons 1 and 2 having sold over 50 million copies worldwide, there will be a lot of people itching to continue the story. And they can do just that in a little over a week, for now, here’s the video.

First Ghostbusters Teaser Lands

The first teaser for Paul Feig’s forthcoming remake of Ghostbusters has just hit, and it gives us a tantalising glimpse of just how big the spectral invasion of New York is set to be. While we don’t get to see the four Ghostbusters – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones – themselves, the extreme military presence shown in the teaser suggests the threat they’re set to face will be a sizable one. “Who you gonna call?”, indeed.

The new Ghostbusters film is a hard reboot, meaning that it is not tied to the previous universe or continuity of the Ivan Reitman-directed Ghostbusters or its sequel. The decision to start from scratch, Feig told Entertainment Weekly, was a no-brainer considering the original film’s legacy:

“I had lunch with [Sony Pictures co-chairman] Amy Pascal when I got back to town. She was just saying, gosh, nobody wants to do [Ghostbusters 3] I said, yeah, it’s really hard to take that on, especially since it’s 25 years later. How do you come back into a world that’s had these ghosts and all this? It just felt too difficult. How do you do it and not screw it up?

But then it was bugging me for the next few days because ‘Ghostbusters‘ is such a great thing and everybody knows it, and it’s such a great world. It’s a shame to just let this thing sit there. I want to see another one. My favorite thing to do is work with funny women. I was like, what if it was an all-female cast? If they were all women?  Suddenly, my mind kind of exploded: that would be really fun. And then I thought, well, what if we just make it new? It’s not coming into the world that existed before. It’s always hard if the world has gone through this big ghost attack, how do you do it again? I wanted to come into our world where there’s talk of ghosts but they’re not really credible, and so what would happen in our world if this happened today?”

Ghostbusters opens in cinemas on 15th July.

The Final Batman V Superman Trailer Drops

With the premiere of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice only a month away, the final trailer for the hotly-anticipated blockbuster has been released, and unofficially, it seems. The trailer shows that, despite his superior strength and power, Superman might have a tougher time going toe-to-toe with Batman that he may have expected. Either way, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor seems to be enjoying the spectacle:

In a recent interview with Playboy, Eisenberg was full of praise for film’s two leads, Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, who play Batman and Superman, respectively.

“They were wonderful to work with because we were all sort of adjusting things to make the scenes as good as they could be,” Eisenberg said. “Henry has already played Superman in another movie so he has such a strong idea of his character. That was fun for me because I could play with that. Ben Affleck is also very sharp. Doing this was a lot of fun because the three of us like to improvise, changing dialogue and all. But it was also strange for me: I have a lot of respect for both of them and yet my character mocks them both a lot in the movie. But that was just the nature of the thing.”

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on 25th March.

Watch All the Trailers and Teasers that Debuted During Super Bowl 50

The Super Bowl is often mana for film fans, with the prestigious game of gridiron’s ad breaks packed full of trailers and teasers for forthcoming movies. This year’s event was no exception, debuting new TV spots for no less than eight eagerly anticipated 2016 cinema releases, only one of which is not a sequel.

Our first trailer is another peak at the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, Captain America: Civil War. The sequel pits the embodiment of the Stars and Stripes, Captain America, against billionaire maverick Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in a row over superhero rights. The film also features the first appearance of Spider-Man in the MCU (sadly not featured in the trailer):

Jason Bourne is back in… Jason Bourne! Matt Damon returns to the franchise following the Bourne-less The Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner:

After devastating the planet in 1996, the aliens return to make another mess of the Earth’s iconic cities in Independence Day: Resurgence. While Will Smith is curiously absent, resident kook Jeff Goldblum returns as David Levinson, alongside former US President Whitmore, played by Bill Pullman:

Perhaps the most visually arresting trailer on show was for Jon Favreau’s Jungle Book. Favreau, director of Iron Man and Chef, has adapted the Rudyard Kipling story – made famous by the 1967 Disney animation – as a mixture of live action and CGI, and features the voices of Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Bill Murray, Lupita Nyong’o, Christopher Walken, and Scarlett Johansson:

We got a fresh glimpse of 10 Cloverfield Lane, the surprise sequel to 2008’s giant monster horror, Cloverfield:

“Everything they’ve built will fall!” wails the titular antagonist in X-Men: Apocalypse, the final film in the X-Men prequel trilogy:

The most bizarre offerings on show were two awkward teasers for Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, framed as an advert for Turkish Airlines (one of the film’s “commercial partners”) and its new flight routes to Superman’s and Batman’s home cities, respectively, Metropolis and Gotham:

Also, there’s a sequel to Michael Bay’s 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. So, that’s a thing:

Morrowind for Skyrim Mod ‘Skywind’ Gets New Trailer

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s great to see that development of this mod is still making progress. Skywind is a huge effort to port the entire world and game of Morrowind into the Skyrim game engine. That means hugely improved graphics, increased mod support, a greatly improved interface and so much more. Obviously, this is a huge undertaking, so it’s been a few years since we first heard of Skywind.

A new trailer has been released for the game, which is great, as it was back in March last year that we saw the Revive trailer, and August that we saw the Rekindle trailer released. Today, however, we get the new Envision trailer and as you might have guessed, it’s pretty awesome. Check out the new trailer below.

As you saw in the trailer, the graphics are making great progress for this mod, making full use of the hugely improved lighting engine in Skyrim. For those of you who have played the original Morrowind, you’ll have noticed some very familiar landscapes too, albeit ones that have never looked so good.

How these people can continue this work and not have been snapped up by Bethesda is simply incredible, but hopefully this mod will continue to get developed, get the attention it deserves and more, because it may be the biggest and best Skyrim mod ever created.

Not a fan of Morrowind? Don’t worry, these another mod that’s equally amazing, as they work to port Oblivion into Skyrim’s engine. Naturally the naming system is just as obvious and you can get more information on Skyblivion right here.

What’s your favourite Elder Scrolls game so far? Are you looking forward to playing these mods or would you rather stick with the original games as they were first created? Let us know in the comments section below.

Further Hints That Final Fantasy XV is Heading to PC Discovered

Final Fantasy XV has been a long time coming, and while many Final Fantasy games have been moved to PC in recent years, some a lot later than others, we still have no concrete details for the PC version of the latest in the series. We’re pretty certain that it will come to PC, given the track record of recent releases in the series, but as with most developers, Square Enix are keeping impossibly tight-lipped about the whole thing.

Thankfully, for those of us who are eager for even the smallest morsel of proof that it’s coming to PC, there’s been some  information discovered by NeoGAF member ‘KupoNut.’  As you can see in the image below, there’s already references to the PC version in the code of the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered Event website.

The only downside is that this is still a rumour, I mean, the information is there, but until Square Enix put it in black and white, you have to be sceptical to a certain degree. There’s evidence to say they will bring it to PC, that much is a given, but will it launch at the same time as consoles, or will we have a couple of years wait? I certainly hope the latter is not true.

With Square Enix hosting their Uncovered Event on March 30th, we can cross our fingers and hope for a PC reveal, but if not, I’m sure there will still be some exciting information being revealed about the game in general.

Until we have more information, how about another run through the early just one more time?

I’m sure you’re looking forward to Final Fantasy XV, but which format would you rather play it on, PC or consoles? Would you be willing to wait longer to see it on PC if it launched on consoles first? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Entire Batman v Superman Trailer Recreated in GTA V!

Grand Theft Auto has proven a popular game for video editors, with seemingly hundreds, if not thousands of trailers and movie scenes being remade using the in-game editing features. Then we’ve got the fantastic Batman v Superman trailer, which is no stranger to remakes either, as we’ve already seen it recreated using Lego! Now it’s time to put the two together, in what has to be one of the best Grand Theft Auto V trailer remakes to date, so sit back and enjoy the next three minutes of internet awesomeness.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Trailer Recreated In GTA 5. In this GTA 5 Machinima parody, the Batman v Superman trailer was recreated completely from scratch by the very talented Merfish! Make sure to check out his channel below for a side by side comparison! ” reads the video description.

Watch Forza 6 Launch Trailer Made with Grand Theft Auto V

We can easily say that Grand Theft Auto V for PC was one of the biggest games of 2015 and one of the games where we have seen most user-created work originate from. In the past, we mostly saw amazing Skyrim work and while that’s still being created and released, we’ve gotten a whole lot more Grand Theft Auto V content. The mods for the game allow you to take it to the next step, do new things, and recreate quite a few things. The newest remake in that regard is the Forza 6 Launch Trailer that was made entirely with the use of Grand Theft Auto V and its tools.

As mentioned, the entire video that is embedded below was made with Grand Theft Auto V and its tools, but the creator also used a few mods in order to get it just right. Among the mods and tools used were the Project RELOAD GTA V Graphics enhancer, Simple Trainer, and various car mods.

“Come and join us in a whole new world of racing in our brand new games, Forza Theft Auto. Discover the fun of racing simulation while driving in a big open world while also ramming into people and kill them, by guns,” the video description reads.

The creator of the video was inspired by the official launch video several months ago and decided that it was worth a remake in Grand Theft Auto V. To avoid some copyright restrictions, the video was shortened by about 2 seconds over the original trailer and the sound was pitched down. Other than that, it looks pretty sweet and it is some amazing work.

RavevnwestR1, as the YouTuber calls himself, made the video in just a couple of days and also stated that it isn’t perfect. He thinks he could do better, so we might see an upgraded version in the future. For now, you may just enjoy the work he’s already done.

Here  is the original launch trailer for comparison purposes. What do you think? Did RavenwestR1 nail it with his rendition off Forza Theft Auto V? Let us know in the comments.

This isn’t the first remake that RavenwestR1 has made and you can find a lot more cool work on his YouTube channel.

Independence Day Resurgence Trailer Released!

It’s been a long time coming, with the original movie having graced our screens 20 years ago! Now it seems that the iconic sci-fi action movie is set to return to the big screen, as the official trailer has been released and if that doesn’t get you excited for this movie, nothing will!

Independence Day Resurgence takes place after the events of the first movie, where humans have developed new technologies and braced for future attacks, but it seems our efforts may not have been enough. With Roland Emmerich in the director’s chair, you can expect plenty of action, and with Liam Hemsworth, Joey King, Maika Monroe and more taking leading roles, it should be an interesting romp to say the least.

“We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.”

If you’re eager to see the movie, don’t hold your breath just yet, as the official release date is June 24th, 2016, giving you enough time so save up enough money to afford cinema popcorn.

Are you looking forward to the new movie? I know I am!

Day of The Tentacle Remastered Trailer Released

Day of the Tentacle is a quirky point-and-click adventure game developed by LucasArts and the successor to the 1987 cult classic Manic Mansion. Created in 1993, Day of the Tentacle is a mind-bending, time travel, cartoon puzzle adventure game which follows the events of three unlikely friends working together to prevent an evil mutated purple tentacle from taking over the world! Day of the Tentacle is one of my favourite adventure games of all time and I’m overjoyed to see a remaster being made. So what does this latest version entail? According to Double Fine Adventures:

“Now, over twenty years later, Day of the Tentacle is back in a remastered edition that features all new hand-drawn, high resolution artwork, with remastered audio, music and sound effects (which the original 90s marketing blurb described as ‘zany!’)”

“Players are able to switch back and forth between classic and remastered modes, and mix and match audio, graphics and user interface to their heart’s desire. We’ve also included a concept art browser, and recorded a commentary track with the game’s original creators Tim Schafer, Dave Grossman, Larry Ahern, Peter Chan, Peter McConnell and Clint Bajakian.”

For those of you interested in this particular remake, it’s well worth checking out the trailer below:

The special edition remaster is expected to release in March 2016 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Windows, OS X and Linux PCs.

New Hitman Teaser Trailer Released and Beta Phase Announced

The upcoming Hitman (2016)  game is highly anticipated and slightly delayed and it is one of the very few games these days that I’m actually considering to pre-order to be able to play it on day one. Square Enix released a new teaser trailer and announced when the beta testing of the game will launch at the same time.

With the upcoming holiday and all the shopping going on, they surely don’t want to miss a chance to sell a few more games and as such the timing is perfect. Why? Because pre-orders will get guaranteed access to the upcoming beta testing of the game. With the way that they worded it, we can assume that there will be other methods to gain access to the beta, but those haven’t been revealed yet.

The new trailer teases the beta mission which puts Agent 47 20 years back into the past. This mission is the first time that Agent 47 meets his long-time handler Diana Burnwood, at least that we as gamers get to see. The mission takes place in a top-secret ICA recruitment and training facility and that is about the information we get now.

The Hitman beta will launch on February 12th for PlayStation 4 and one week later on the PC, on February the 19th.

Codemasters Unveils New F1 2015 ‘Racing as Champions’ Trailer

Codemasters released their first official F1 game back in 2009 on the Nintendo Wii and quickly transitioned to more powerful consoles. While their first cross-platform effort was a fairly enjoyable affair, the game was completely ruined by a pit stop bug. As you entered the pit lane, the AI would become ridiculously cautious and wait until the entire surrounding area was empty. This made it quite common to enter your pit box in a top tier position and exit in last.

Furthermore, the years haven’t been kind to Codemasters and every sequel failed to live up to expectations. F1 2013 was probably the best example and included a huge array of classic content, although this was hidden behind a day one paywall. Since then, Codemasters have dropped all of the classic content and let fans down on a regular basis. In recent years, their efforts have been feeble and the studio argued this was due to the technical limitations of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4. As a result, people anxiously waited to play the first “next-gen” F1 game, and couldn’t believe how shallow the final experience was. The game didn’t include classic content, or even a safety car and suffered a whole host of AI bugs.

Some time after release, the publisher has now decided to reveal another trailer, which is a fairly peculiar move. The video shows Alex Lynn (Williams Racing Development Driver), Anthony Davidson (car handling consultant and broadcast presenter, former F1 driver and test driver), Pascal Wehrlein (Reserve Driver, Mercedes AMG Petronas) playing the game and describing its realism. As you might expect, these individuals cannot hold back their praise for F1 2015 and see it as wonderful, realistic simulator. I might sound a little bit cynical here, but as an F1 enthusiast with a full racing setup, these real life racers just come across as part of Codemasters marketing team.

The company has to wake up and realize F1 2015 is a pretty poor game, and possibly the worst so far. While the physics model isn’t bad, it’s far from being described as realistic and the whole game is completely devoid of content. It’s disingenuous to have racing drivers talk about how wonderful the game is and instead of paying for a marketing scheme, Codemasters should be pouring that money in F1 2016’s development. Over the years, Codemasters have promised a lot, and people are finally waking up to the current state of the F1 franchise. I honestly fear for their future and believe they could lose the F1 license pretty soon.

New Trailer for Doom’s Total Conversion Mod – Resident Evil Code Name Hunk

Modding is by far one of the coolest features of PC gaming, but every now and them, a modder or even a team of modders come along that go far beyond the basics of HD textures, new armour (or no armour, if you know what I mean) and weapon mods. Modder “DooMero” has been working hard on a total conversion mod for id Software’s classic FPS, DOOM.

Resident Evil Code Name Hunk takes one iconic series and forces it right into the Doom engine, with all the stunning 2D visuals that we came to know and love about Doom. Featuring a new level that was based around Resident Evil Survivor, a third person camera to suit the Resident Evil gameplay style and a whole host of action and cut-scenes to give everything some pace.

This original, albeit heavily inspired story takes place in the year 2002.

“Before the end of Umbrella, the alpha team of U.S.S. and commanded by Hunk need to collect all the samples created by dr. Young and ex-umbrella scientist responsible of the creation of the TNB virus, a T-veronica variation. The events occur in a complex facility located in Mero city.” said DooMero

It’s certainly an interesting project and if you’re unsure what to make of it, check out the newly released 35-minute long play through video below. Want to play it? Sit tight, as the total conversion mod will be released just next week!

Teaser Released for Fan Made Halo PC Project

Hold onto your Spartan armour fellow PC gamers, because this is one incredible project that you’re not going to want to miss out on! Halo is a great game, I’m a huge fan of the series and have long followed it on various Xbox formats over the years. However, Halo has never been as good as it was when it was released on PC, even if number 2 did require you to install Vista *shudder*.

Now it looks like Halo is set to return to PC albeit in an unofficial capacity, not that I care, the new game looks freaking amazing! The project is called installation 01, and it has been under development for quite some time now, but their new gameplay teaser is enough to spark new excitement into the teams work.

What’s really exciting about this project is the team behind it are doing everything by the book, that means it’s not going to get pulled and trust me, if Microsoft were going to lawyer up, they’d have long since done so.

NOTE: Everything you see here is Work in Progress, anything is subject to change. This is the Pre-Alpha version of the game.

Q: What is this?

A: Installation 01 is a fan game created by Halo fans from all over the world. The aim of this project is to be both an artistic tribute to Halo and a fun way to experience Halo on PC, Mac and Linux free and legally. Our primary goal is to recreate the multiplayer experience of the Halo trilogy, bringing in features from all Halo games to make the ultimate multiplayer sandbox!

Q: When is this being released?

A: Short answer: 8-12 months, no promises.

Long answer: We’d like to include several well-made maps and a solid arsenal of weapons and gamemodes in our first open beta build. Depending on how many more artists and programmers join the team, we are looking at an 8-12 month wait until our first publicly available build. However, there will be more trailers and information released as we progress, and hopefully the teaser trailer we just released will serve as a shining beacon to talented folks in the fan community. The more the merrier, keep reading for information on how to help.

Q: Is this legal?

A: We are abiding by Microsoft’s Fair Use Policy and their Game Content Usage Rules.…
Everything in the game is fan created and can be legally downloaded and distributed in accordance with the Game Content Usage Rules. We are not out to make any money, even to cover costs. The work is all a labor of love, our team gets nothing in return except the satisfaction of making the ultimate Halo tribute, and some portfolio building.

Q: How can I help?

A: We are in need of more team members. We are currently recruiting for these positions:
-3D artists
-2D artists
Our current team size is about 20 people giving their free time on-and-off depending on school and work schedules (about half of us are either computer science or art students, with hobbyists and professionals mixed in). We would like to expand, so please comment if you are interested in helping, we will get back to you ASAP!

Q: Where do I go to check for updates on the project?

Massive Overhaul Mod ‘GMDX’ for Original Deus Ex Gets Release Date

Deus Ex is one of the definitive PC games in all PC gaming history. Released in 2000 the game has a continued fan-base and has seen numerous tweaks and mods, as well as a couple of new games that have kept the Deus Ex spirit alive and kicking, but this latest mod looks set to blow every other Deus Ex mod into oblivion.

“GMDX is an award-winning large-scale modification for the 2000 PC classic Deus Ex. GMDX addresses the many flaws of the game, polishes it to a very high standard, and adds new layers of depth that one would have hoped to see in a sequel. GMDX is executed with the strict parameter of staying true to the original design principles that define Deus Ex, and seeks to improve all aspects of design excluding the plot and soundtrack. The cumulative result thus far is said to be, and aims to be the “definitive Deus Ex experience”.”

GMDX V8.0 is set to be released on December 7th, 2015. Artificial intelligence has been significantly improved, tweaking everything from how enemies respond to sights and sounds, pathfinding and more. Player-controlled mechanics, sim systems, effects, physics, item interactions and more are all tweaked to increase immersion, without impacting on the original look and feel of the game.

Stay tuned on the official mod website too, as there are more features set to be revealed very soon.

Check out this series of videos below and get ready to re-play one of the most iconic games in PC gaming history this December.
