Best of CES 2016 – Thermaltake ToughPower DPS G 1250W PSU

CES 2016: This year’s show was packed full of great new products, but few brands brought as many new toys to the show as Thermaltake. Even with so much to show off this year, there was one product in particular that really stood out for us in the Thermaltake suite, the Thermaltake ToughPower DPS G RGB 1250W Power Supply.

While it may not have the easiest to remember product name, it does pack a lot of features that are simply the best you could ask for from a PSU today. Equipped with 80 Plus Titanium efficiency, the highest quality components and capacitors, fully braided and flat cables for excellent routing and management, an RGB fan and smart connect features, the DPS G certainly has what it takes to compete with any of the other big names in the PSU market.

What’s really important, however, is that it is SPM Supported and that you can monitor and control the unit from the web, desktop or mobile apps. Check your efficiency, load, fan speeds, temperatures and more, tweak the performance as needed, or just log in to change the colour of the pre-installed RGB Thermaltake Riing fan, the choice is yours.

Thermaltake are so confident in this unit that they’re blessing it with a 10-year warranty, and if that doesn’t give you piece of mind over the build quality and performance of this unit, nothing will.

Thermaltake Unveiled Latest Toughpower DPS G Platinum Series

Thermaltake unveiled its latest power supplies in the Toughpower DPS G Platinum series and it isn’t the average run-of-the-mill power supply either. It is an 80 Plus Platinum certified and digitally controlled power supply and it comes in three wattage sizes: 850W, 1050W, and 1200W.

The new Toughpower DPS G Platinum Series with the aid of the DPS G Software, DPS G PC APP 2.0, DPS G Smart Power Management Cloud 1.0, provides the system with not only clean and stable power, but also three intelligent platforms that allows users to monitor and record the status of power consumption, voltage distribution, and the electricity cost for advance usage. The SPM Platform also helps to save energy, reduce CO2 emission, and in turn protect the environment.

The power supplies are built with a massive single +12V rail, high-quality Japanese capacitors, and has a 140mm ultra quiet fan with smart fan control. It is fully modular, allowing you to connect just the cables you need for a clean and organized system build. It also features all the protections you’ll want such as Over Current, Over Power, Over Voltage, Under Voltage, Over Temperature, and Short-Circuit protection.

It is also a power supply that should last you a long time as it comes with a minimum mean time before failure of 120,000 hours, which equals to 5000 days or almost 14 years. Thermaltake knows they got a great product on their hand and it shows. This is also reflected in the 7-year warranty that the PSUs are backed by.

Thermaltake Launch Five New High Wattage PSUs

Thermaltake has just launched their newest products in the Toughpower and Toughpower Grand series of power supplies. It isn’t just one or two new power supplies we’re presented with this time, but a row of five. Thermaltake has released the Toughpower 1000W, 1200W and 1500W PSUs and the Toughpower Grand 1050W and 1200W PSUs.

The Toughpower 1000W, 1200W and 1500W models have a Gold certified efficiency and use a modular design with flat cables. The 135mm cooling fan is running with an intelligent RPM control that should guarantee optimal cooling at the most silent operation possible. Using high-quality Japanese capacitors and a massive and dedicated +12V rail, these power supplies should provide all the stable power your system needs.

The Toughpower Grand series with the two new 1050W and 1200W models come with the aesthetic optimised chassis, are 80 Plus Gold Certified and Haswell Ready just like their smaller brothers. The cable design is fully modular on these devices, allowing you an even better cable management and optimization.

Again all cables are flat ones to allow for easier routing. Thermaltake used 100% high-quality Japanese capacitors in these models that not only helps with stability but also give a better peak-power than the non-Grand series.

There are a lot of numbers and connections on power supplies, so instead of listing them in a text, I put them in the little chart below to allow you to compare and find the one that might be just perfect for you. All new models have a length of 180mm except for the 1500W model that has a length of 220mm.

The new power supplies are available now and the price ranges from $189.99 to $299.99 for the Toughpower series and $174 to $224 for the Toughpower Grand series at NewEgg. Some of the models include a rebate, so the price might change in the future. Not all of the models have arrived in the UK yet, but some of them can be found while the rest should arrive very shortly.

Thermaltake Launches New Power Supply and Smart Software

We have already had a little preview at the new power supply at Computex 2014, and now they are officially launched. The latest Toughpower DPS G Series is an innovative 80 PLUS Gold certified and digitally-controlled power supply, ranging from 450W and up to 1050W. It is also compatible with the DPSApp software.

After receiving favourable reviews and feedbacks from many friends of media and associates on DPS Series last year, Thermaltake decided to expand the series with a much more reasonable price.

The new DPS G series with the aid of DPSApp Software not only provides the system with clean and stable power, it also creates an intelligent platform that allows users to monitor and record the status of power consumption, voltage distribution and the electricity cost for advance usage.

Out of all the PSU monitoring software applications, Thermaltake DPSApp is the most powerful, flexible, universal and easy-to-use supreme monitoring tool to have on the market.

The power supplies use 100% 105°C Japanese brand electrolytic capacitors and are Haswell Ready. For convenience all cables are modular on all models, 450W, 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W and 1050W. No word on pricing yet.
