Overwatch’s Animated Short Could Reveal More Than a Backstory

In the modern-day and age, marketing materials make a game as much as the actual game itself. Some companies have learnt from this and Blizzard are no exception with the release of their latest animated short film showing us a little bit of story and a teaser of what’s to come. The animated short, titled Recall follows the story of Winston, the super-intelligent gorilla.

The animated short contains not just Winston but also Reaper, a crowd favourite thanks to his dark shotgun’s and teleporting abilities. Winston, on the other hand, is all about his technology, with his main weapon the Tesla Cannon showing enemies a good time while his jetpack and “barrier projector” (let’s call it a shield) all debuting in the short alongside the “primal rage”.

The short includes more than meets the eye on the first pass. With a screen showing a list of Overwatch members, 14 of which we haven’t seen since the early concept art was revealed for the game. With the game set to release in May, will we see more characters before then or will we have to wait for till after its release to start enjoying some of the characters that have been promised to players (at no extra cost we might add)?

Have you played Overwatch? Are you excited and who do you think should get a short film next? Until then we will leave you with the Cinematic trailer for the game

MSI Teasing Aegis – Product Countdown Appears

What are MSI cooking up this time? That’s the question that is on our lips today as we see the launch of a brand new teaser from one of the world’s most popular gaming hardware manufacturers. So far, the only thing we’ve got to go on is the image above, showing some casing and LED lighting. To my eyes, it looks like the front of a PC chassis with an LED fan behind it, but it could just as easily be the back of a gaming notebook, a close up of a headset, of even an obscure view of a fancy looking graphics card, we really don’t know!

The countdown isn’t going to bring you much joy either, as it’s teasing a rather punishing 50 days and 12 hours wait for the big reveal, although we would expect more clues and teasers from MSI as the timer ticks down over the next few weeks. With everything from gaming systems, motherboards, peripherals, graphics cards and so much more being produced by MSI, as well as new graphics cards on the way from both Nvidia and AMD, and the fact that the timer ends just a couple of weeks short of Computex 2016, we’re certainly expecting this to be something big; otherwise it wouldn’t be worth the big teaser.

What do you think it could be? Even better, what are you hoping it will be? Let us know in the comments section below!

Can’t wait for the timer to tick to zero? Head on over to the official page and fill in your details to get updates as soon as they happen.

AMD Teases Possible External GPU Standard

Gaming is a lot of fun and small computer systems are a joy because they are easier to carry around, but what if you want the graphics performance to be optional? For that to be an option we need some proper external graphics card support and it looks like AMD is working on just that, again.

We have seen multiple external graphics card solution over time such as Alienware’s Graphics Amplifier or MSI’s Gaming Dock that solve the problem with lack of graphics power in portable systems without increasing the size and weight of the ultrabook or laptop itself, but they’ve been limited to specific devices and that can be an issue that holds the adoption rate back.

AMD’s Robert Hallock teased us with something new via Facebook that indicates that AMD could be working on just such a solution. This isn’t the first time that AMD’s graphics department wants to do something like that, although they still were called ATI at the time. Some might remember the ATI XGP (eXternal Graphics Platform) from 7-years ago that already attempted this, but it never gained the large traction due to its natural limitations.

Ultrathin notebooks are awesome for their portability, but nobody in their right mind would use them as a gaming notebook. Those are some heavy items that while still portable, weigh as much as a stationary mITX system. This is where external graphics solutions come into play and we’re able to get the same graphics performance from a small portable system when needed while keeping it light enough to take everywhere for normal usage.

“External GPUs are the answer. External GPUs with standardized connectors, cables, drivers, plug’n’play, OS support, etc.”

AMD is a big believer in open and free standards and the way everything is worded points in the same direction rather than a single locked down product with an AMD branding. Standardization could make a huge difference here as long as the manufacturers adopt it and bring it to the market. Oh and just to clarify, none of the shown examples of external graphics solutions here is the new deal. Robert himself teased with a Razer Core graphics enclosure equipped with an AMD Radeon Nano card.

The teaser ends with the words “More info very soon”, maybe GDC? Only time will tell, but we’ll stay on the ball and keep you informed.

First Ghostbusters Teaser Lands

The first teaser for Paul Feig’s forthcoming remake of Ghostbusters has just hit, and it gives us a tantalising glimpse of just how big the spectral invasion of New York is set to be. While we don’t get to see the four Ghostbusters – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones – themselves, the extreme military presence shown in the teaser suggests the threat they’re set to face will be a sizable one. “Who you gonna call?”, indeed.

The new Ghostbusters film is a hard reboot, meaning that it is not tied to the previous universe or continuity of the Ivan Reitman-directed Ghostbusters or its sequel. The decision to start from scratch, Feig told Entertainment Weekly, was a no-brainer considering the original film’s legacy:

“I had lunch with [Sony Pictures co-chairman] Amy Pascal when I got back to town. She was just saying, gosh, nobody wants to do [Ghostbusters 3] I said, yeah, it’s really hard to take that on, especially since it’s 25 years later. How do you come back into a world that’s had these ghosts and all this? It just felt too difficult. How do you do it and not screw it up?

But then it was bugging me for the next few days because ‘Ghostbusters‘ is such a great thing and everybody knows it, and it’s such a great world. It’s a shame to just let this thing sit there. I want to see another one. My favorite thing to do is work with funny women. I was like, what if it was an all-female cast? If they were all women?  Suddenly, my mind kind of exploded: that would be really fun. And then I thought, well, what if we just make it new? It’s not coming into the world that existed before. It’s always hard if the world has gone through this big ghost attack, how do you do it again? I wanted to come into our world where there’s talk of ghosts but they’re not really credible, and so what would happen in our world if this happened today?”

Ghostbusters opens in cinemas on 15th July.

Watch All the Trailers and Teasers that Debuted During Super Bowl 50

The Super Bowl is often mana for film fans, with the prestigious game of gridiron’s ad breaks packed full of trailers and teasers for forthcoming movies. This year’s event was no exception, debuting new TV spots for no less than eight eagerly anticipated 2016 cinema releases, only one of which is not a sequel.

Our first trailer is another peak at the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, Captain America: Civil War. The sequel pits the embodiment of the Stars and Stripes, Captain America, against billionaire maverick Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in a row over superhero rights. The film also features the first appearance of Spider-Man in the MCU (sadly not featured in the trailer):

Jason Bourne is back in… Jason Bourne! Matt Damon returns to the franchise following the Bourne-less The Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner:

After devastating the planet in 1996, the aliens return to make another mess of the Earth’s iconic cities in Independence Day: Resurgence. While Will Smith is curiously absent, resident kook Jeff Goldblum returns as David Levinson, alongside former US President Whitmore, played by Bill Pullman:

Perhaps the most visually arresting trailer on show was for Jon Favreau’s Jungle Book. Favreau, director of Iron Man and Chef, has adapted the Rudyard Kipling story – made famous by the 1967 Disney animation – as a mixture of live action and CGI, and features the voices of Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Bill Murray, Lupita Nyong’o, Christopher Walken, and Scarlett Johansson:

We got a fresh glimpse of 10 Cloverfield Lane, the surprise sequel to 2008’s giant monster horror, Cloverfield:

“Everything they’ve built will fall!” wails the titular antagonist in X-Men: Apocalypse, the final film in the X-Men prequel trilogy:

The most bizarre offerings on show were two awkward teasers for Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, framed as an advert for Turkish Airlines (one of the film’s “commercial partners”) and its new flight routes to Superman’s and Batman’s home cities, respectively, Metropolis and Gotham:

Also, there’s a sequel to Michael Bay’s 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. So, that’s a thing:

New Hitman Teaser Trailer Released and Beta Phase Announced

The upcoming Hitman (2016)  game is highly anticipated and slightly delayed and it is one of the very few games these days that I’m actually considering to pre-order to be able to play it on day one. Square Enix released a new teaser trailer and announced when the beta testing of the game will launch at the same time.

With the upcoming holiday and all the shopping going on, they surely don’t want to miss a chance to sell a few more games and as such the timing is perfect. Why? Because pre-orders will get guaranteed access to the upcoming beta testing of the game. With the way that they worded it, we can assume that there will be other methods to gain access to the beta, but those haven’t been revealed yet.

The new trailer teases the beta mission which puts Agent 47 20 years back into the past. This mission is the first time that Agent 47 meets his long-time handler Diana Burnwood, at least that we as gamers get to see. The mission takes place in a top-secret ICA recruitment and training facility and that is about the information we get now.

The Hitman beta will launch on February 12th for PlayStation 4 and one week later on the PC, on February the 19th.

Teaser Released for Fan Made Halo PC Project

Hold onto your Spartan armour fellow PC gamers, because this is one incredible project that you’re not going to want to miss out on! Halo is a great game, I’m a huge fan of the series and have long followed it on various Xbox formats over the years. However, Halo has never been as good as it was when it was released on PC, even if number 2 did require you to install Vista *shudder*.

Now it looks like Halo is set to return to PC albeit in an unofficial capacity, not that I care, the new game looks freaking amazing! The project is called installation 01, and it has been under development for quite some time now, but their new gameplay teaser is enough to spark new excitement into the teams work.

What’s really exciting about this project is the team behind it are doing everything by the book, that means it’s not going to get pulled and trust me, if Microsoft were going to lawyer up, they’d have long since done so.

NOTE: Everything you see here is Work in Progress, anything is subject to change. This is the Pre-Alpha version of the game.

Q: What is this?

A: Installation 01 is a fan game created by Halo fans from all over the world. The aim of this project is to be both an artistic tribute to Halo and a fun way to experience Halo on PC, Mac and Linux free and legally. Our primary goal is to recreate the multiplayer experience of the Halo trilogy, bringing in features from all Halo games to make the ultimate multiplayer sandbox!

Q: When is this being released?

A: Short answer: 8-12 months, no promises.

Long answer: We’d like to include several well-made maps and a solid arsenal of weapons and gamemodes in our first open beta build. Depending on how many more artists and programmers join the team, we are looking at an 8-12 month wait until our first publicly available build. However, there will be more trailers and information released as we progress, and hopefully the teaser trailer we just released will serve as a shining beacon to talented folks in the fan community. The more the merrier, keep reading for information on how to help.

Q: Is this legal?

A: We are abiding by Microsoft’s Fair Use Policy and their Game Content Usage Rules. http://www.xbox.com/en-us/developers/…
Everything in the game is fan created and can be legally downloaded and distributed in accordance with the Game Content Usage Rules. We are not out to make any money, even to cover costs. The work is all a labor of love, our team gets nothing in return except the satisfaction of making the ultimate Halo tribute, and some portfolio building.

Q: How can I help?

A: We are in need of more team members. We are currently recruiting for these positions:
-3D artists
-2D artists
-Programmers
Our current team size is about 20 people giving their free time on-and-off depending on school and work schedules (about half of us are either computer science or art students, with hobbyists and professionals mixed in). We would like to expand, so please comment if you are interested in helping, we will get back to you ASAP!

Q: Where do I go to check for updates on the project?

Rocket League – Back to the Future Car Pack Teaser Released

Great Scott! Get yourself ready for something truly awesome coming to the already fantastic Rocket League later this month, the Back to the future Car Pack!

Rocket League has been a smash hit and a very popular choice when it comes to multiplayer competitive gaming, so much so that it may even be entering the world of eSports. Of course, there’s very little difference between the cars in the game, at least in terms of performance, but when it comes to customisation, the developers at Psyonix love to give you a lot of options. Their latest addition to their ranks needs little introduction, as the iconic DeLorian is one of the most easily recognised cars from movie history, having been the time machine used by Doc and Marty in Back to the Future.

The car pack launches on October 21st and you can check out the teaser trailer below.

“Great Scott! The time continuum has been disrupted and as of October 21, 2015, the “Future” is now! Celebrate one of the most anticipated days of the last 30 years in Rocket League with the official Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine! Don’ t waste another minute. Get it for PC and PS4 today!” – Psyonix

Fake GTA6 Teaser Trailer Fails to Convince Us

A new game trailer is making its rounds, promising to show off the next generation engine and tease for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA6), but we have to burst the bubble right away as it isn’t real. Well, the video is real in the way it exists and can be watched, but it isn’t GTA6.

The people behind it, whoever they might be, have put quite a bit of work into the video, but they blew it right away by uploading a version where they didn’t even spell Rockstar right. That has now been edited out, but not before people noticed and screenshotted it.

The video in itself is somewhat a mix of everything and nothing. The description for the video mentioned a trip back to Vice City, but there’s only a very short clip actually showing the city. Instead, we see a muscle car drifting along a desert road as well was clips from what appears to be random cities from around the world. The language is clearly not English, as it can be seen on street signs for example.

The video was uploaded by a YouTube account called RockstarGamesBETA, which in itself speaks for a fake. It was a nice try and quite a few people fell for it – but you need to do better to convince us. There is no doubt that Rockstar will make a GTA6 and there is a good chance that it will come in 2017, but they are far from done milking GTA5 and they surely wouldn’t announce it this way. That said, we can still enjoy the work that was put into this fake teaser trailer.

AMD Teases Something New in Unlisted Youtube Video

AMD has released a short teaser for what appears to be a Radeon branded product, most likely a graphics card. Titled “It’s Coming”, the teaser video is extremely short, coming in at about 7 seconds total and 3 of those seconds contain a black space. From the timing of the teaser, it’s most likely related to AMD’s upcoming 390X flagship GPU or an HBM GPU, depending if those two are one and the same. Earlier teaser images of the 390X had showed a similar design esthetic with the use of black and silver body and red Radeon logo. Those images showed what appeared to be a liquid cooling radiator, something this teaser and other leaked images did not show.

AMD could do some more work about their marketing and teasers. while great for building anticipation and hype, the teaser is extremely short on details. Interestingly enough this time around, we’ve had more leaks about the 980Ti which is based on known technology, rather than on the new 390X and its groundbreaking HBM technology. AMD has to build up excitement around it’s products if they’re to regain their market share. Whether or not these type of teasers will work remains to be seen.

Antec Release Teaser Trailer – Can You Guess What It Is?

Computex 2015 is incredibly close now, so it’s no surprise that manufacturers are beginning to tease us with their latest wares. Antec has just released the trailer below, teasing us with a sneaky peak at their latest product, but of course, they’re being coy about what it actually is.

It certainly looks like something big, but looks can be deceiving. Antec are known to make power supplies, coolers and chassis, to name but a few of their products, so it really could be anything. Have a look at the video below and let us know what you think it could be!

The only information Antec has provided is on the YouTube page, where it reads “It’s coming in June…” so no doubt we’ll be able to see it at Computex. We’ve already got a meeting to see Antec at the show, so you can bet we’ll be there bright and early with our cameras to see what all the fuss is about, so stay tuned!

EA Teases New PC and Console Need For Speed Title

First teased yesterday, EA has officially confirmed a new entry for the Need For Speed franchise. The announcement came as a new teaser trailer for the yet unnamed title set to reboot the series. Based off of the teaser trailer, the game appears to have a setting similar to Underground and Underground 2, among the better Need For Speed titles. This new game is distinct from the Need For Speed: No Limits for mobile.

Other than the trailer itself though, the biggest takeaway is this interesting statement found near the end. It states that “All footage captured in-game” which has become standard in trailers but also saying that “game engine footage representative of all platforms”. Note the title of the video which is labelled for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. This suggests that there will be parity between the two consoles and for the PC platform which, depending on your platform is a good or bad thing. It does suggest that the hardware for the PS4 and the PC in particular, aren’t being fully exploited but does mean players won’t have to pick and choose which platform to play on as they will all be the same.

From the trailer itself, the engine appears to look pretty good. Whether or not the end game will look similar is up for debate as even PC-centric games like Witcher 3 have failed to match their trailer quality -. More word of the title is likely to come at this year’s E3 next month so stay tuned for more face paced details coming soon.

Liquid cooled AMD Radeon R9 390X Pictured

AMD just revealed the first cards in the new R9 300 series, but that wasn’t so exciting as it could have been as they all were mobile versions and rebrands. This however is far more interesting, as AMD has come out with the first official teaser for the upcoming Fiji XT graphics card, most likely dubbed the R9 390X.

The teased card shows a different image than we’re used to with AMD reference cards. It doesn’t feature the normal single fan cooler nor the hybrid liquid and air cooling solution seen on the R9 295×2 card. It does however reveal what appears to be a fully liquid cooled solution with a 120mm or 140mm radiator in the background.

We also notice a very short card, but with the new HBM memory being stacked on the GPU, AMD needs a lot less PCB space. It’s really only the GPU and VRM that needs to be cooled as the RAM is located on the GPU. On the rear of the card we find three DisplayPort 1.2 and one HDMI 2.0 port as connection options, seeing a move away from the old DVI connector.

The image below was the second tease released shortly after the card above. It is a close-up on the actual Fiji XT chip that will power this new beast of a graphics card with its 4096 CPU cores, 8GB HBM memory, and 4096 Wide IO memory interface.

New ‘8Pack’ Product Teaser Video Released

Ahh OverclockersUK, you like your teaser videos don’t you; teasing us mere peasants with technology we can only dream of. Well since the introductions of 8Pack to the OCUK team, the amount of ‘8Pack’ branded hardware to come out of there has been consistent in terms of quality and performance. Starting off with the 8Pack highly overclocked super systems and then onto the world’s first SuperFlower 2000w PSU with 8Pack branding; he seems to be offering the top end market exactly what they want.

Let’s take a look at some of the previous 8Pack teaser videos.

Very choppy, very little information apart from the PSU one. Something tells me that a new product is coming with the new video, but what could it be?

From first impressions, it is definitely a fan of some kind, is that steam/ LN2 fog being pushed out to the bottom left or just the shine of the fan fins? Could this be a new cooling unit, maybe an 8Pack liquid cooling unit, or maybe even a graphics card cooling unit? Who knows.

What’s that at the end of the video, a subliminal message of some sort? Play the video back and let us know what you think you can hear in the comments.

New Tomorrowland Teaser Brings Back Memories

The brand new teaser for the Tomorrowland movie is sure to stir up some old memories and emotions if you grew up watching the Disney Channel or classic Disney programming. The short video features George Clooney and some of the people behind the movie discussing the history of Tomorrowland, the classic Disney attraction.

The quick exploration of the history behind Tomorrowland and Walt Disney’s visions of the future give a quick foundation on what the new movie is being based on. There is no doubt that the attraction is a great basis for a movie as it is part of the childhoods of many generations of kids and adults who have visited the attraction or watched Disney programming. The glimpses of what the visions of the future were back in the 1955 when the attraction first opened at Disneyland. There are now five different Tomorrowland attractions at Disney Parks around the world, with a sixth being built at Shanghai Disneyland Park.

Having grown up watching classic Disney programming on the Disney Channel in the late ’80s and early ’90s it stirs up a lot of great memories. It is surprising that I am looking forward to a PG-rated movie, but I am sure there are many adults doing the same. They even will be using their children as an excuse to go see the movie, an excuse that I can’t use unfortunately.

Teaser for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” Drops

Another year, another Call of Duty to add to the franchise and this year it is the third installment of Black Ops. The game is being made by Treyarch, the studio who worked on the original Black Ops installment.

The teaser trailer showed up on YouTube today and the Call of Duty fans are getting very excited. The world reveal of Black Ops 3 is April 26th as stated in the ending of the teaser. For the COD fans out there you will have to impatiently wait until then for any more information. Though with Treyarch at the helm of this game there is a good chance that you will be happy with what they bring out. Right now it seems that everyone is getting excited for the zombies, which should come if this game follows the same path as the previous games.

Teaser Website “Hunt the Truth” for Halo 5 Is Now Live

343 Industries is said to have been teasing something which relates to Halo 5: Guardians in a trailer which told fans to “HUNTtheTRUTH”. It seems that the trailer was pointing to a fan page which recently went online.

The website (found here) looks like a big teaser campaign for fans to tune in to its weekly episodic audio clips by Benjamin Giraud, a journalist at New Mombasa who covered Master Chief’s arrival when the Covenant attacked.

It is said that a new episode will be released on the above mentioned website each week, having Giraud talking about different aspects of the Chief’s personality. What is currently know is that Agent Locke will be a playable character and that Cortana will have a comeback in the upcoming title. More information is bound to be released in the following weeks.

Overclockers UK Tease Something Big

Overclockers UK are teasing that something big coming, but we have very little idea what! They have teased us with a video on their Facebook page today, but we don’t have many other clues yet.

Watching the video closely, we spotted that the PSU could be an 8pack branded Super Flower PSU. Digging a bit more and we found out that Super Flower shared the video on their own Facebook page, so they certainly have something to do with this.

How big will this be? Will it be an 8pack improved PSU? or maybe a killer new system? We’ll have to be a little more patient to find out.

Overclockers have just brought the Leadex 1600W monster PSUs to the EU, so if this is a new complete system built by 8pack, then it will one killer of a system. What do you think it is?

New Fractal Design Product Coming Soon!

Fractal Design are playing a fun game with us all today. They’ve begun teasing a new product that is soon to hit the market, but they won’t tell us what it is! Of course, we here at eTeknix are in a great position to take a few educated guesses and there are already clues staring us right in the face. Just take a look at the banners on our site which Fractal Design launched today!

The new advertisements read “Silence Redefined November 24 2014”. Which doesn’t really reveal much, but we know the kind of products Fractal Design produce, as well as which products they’ve shown at trade shows this year.

We stopped by the Fractal Design suite at Computex earlier this year where they had their new Core series of chassis. Given the Core is their newer budget range, I don’t think that will be the answer, perhaps something from their high-end range of chassis such as the Define, Arc or Node series? A Silenced chassis would certainly be an obvious choice in my opinion.

They also revealed their new AIO water cooling units, such as the 360mm radiator. We all know that AIO water cooling can offer ultra quiet performance compared to many air coolers, so perhaps that is what we can expect?

We’ve reached out to Fractal Design to see if we can squeeze some more information from them. Either way, we’ve only got a few days wait until the big reveal.

What do you think it will be?

Zotac GeForce GTX 970 Pictured

We’re getting very close to the expected launch date of the new GeForce GTX 970 GPU from Nvidia, and we’re seeing more and more leaks, pictures and details about the various versions. We saw the specifications and reference design first and then later it was the beautiful MSI Gaming TwinFrozr V cooler that got pictured.

The next tease we get is from Zotac and their version of the GTX 970 card. The image was spotted by keen eyes on PCHub’s Facebook page. It wasn’t a share in itself, but instead buried as a reply to another post. Well done ‘slyce’ for both finding and sharing it with the members of overclockers forums, and now all of us too. It is however a clever leaked image as it doesn’t really show us much besides the fans. We can however see the HDMI 2.0, the DisplayPort and dual DVI, but that’s about it.

The card is based on the new 28 nm GM204 silicon that is said to feature 1664 CUDA cores, 138 TMUs, 32 ROPs and a 256-bit wide memory interface with 4GB of memory. We can see the memory confirmed on the packaging above, but for the rest we’ll just have to wait for further confirmation and leak, and you can be sure that there will be more soon.

MSI Teases GeForce GTX 970 Gaming TwinFrozr V

We’re just days away from the full launch of the Nvidia GTX 900 range of graphics cards and while there are plenty of NDAs in place to stop people talking about the finer details; leaks and teasers are everywhere! The latest teaser comes from MSI, who have just posted a render of their upcoming Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 Gaming graphics card with their brand new TwinFrozr V cooler which was also teased last week.

The new image (see above) is the first time we’ve seen the main design of the card and it looks absolutely gorgeous. It comes in the, now somewhat default black and red styling that seems to be everywhere right now, but that doesn’t make the card any less pretty and with the new Maxwell hardware on the interior, we’re certain that this is going to be a great card.

The cooler features a pair of 100mm fans and a range of copper heatpipes which run into the aluminium fin stack. The card is set to feature a factory-overclock, no doubt possible thanks to that sizeable cooling solution.

The card is based on the new 28nm GM204 silicon, which is said to feature 1664 CUDA cores, 138 TMUs, 32 ROPs, 256-bit wide memory interface and 4GB of memory.

Inno3D Teasing New Nvidia GTX 980

There’s just over a week to go until Nvidia officially release their new flagship GeForce GTX 900 series graphics cards, and manufacturers have begun teasing their new creations prior to the launch to build up some hype about their new hardware.

Inno3D posted an image on their Facebook page (see above) teasing their new card. We know that it’s the GTX 980 as it says “10” over the card and was posted just ten days before the GTX 780 launch, doesn’t take a scientist to work that one out.

In the picture you can see a black card with red trim and based on previous leaks and rumours we also suspect that this card will feature a triple slot cooler design, which will put the card into the iChill Ice Dragon series. The card will also feature two six-pin PCI-Express power connectors and will no doubt be heavily factory overclocked to justify the need for a triple slot cooler.

Expect eTeknix to have a variety of GTX 900 series cards for review when launch day arrives, so be sure to check back then.

Telltale Begin Teasing Their Upcoming Game of Thrones Series

Telltale games are very well-known in the gaming industry for their work on The Walking Dead, a highly popular episodic gaming series based on the TV / Book series of the same name, so who better than them to work on an upcoming Game of Thrones title set in the George R.R. Martin universe (other than Bethesda).

Telltale started the teasing with an image on Twitter, posting a quote from the latest Game of Thrones book, A Dance With Dragons, and we suspect the family name Forrester is emphasized for a reason (see above). House Forrester is a minor clan name that isn’t (yet) featured in the book series, but since we know that this games story will be set concurrently with the main story, a “meanwhile in x” style story line seems the likely course, with a focus on background characters so not to tread on the lore currently laid out by the series.

What we do know of the Forresters is that they’re sworn to House Glover of Deepwood Motte in the North, which holds loyalty to the Starks of Winterfell.

“The show does a great job of interpreting George R.R. Martin’s work, and his work provides a huge dictionary of knowledge about what the franchise is,” Telltale boss Dan Conner previously teased.

“It’s really a dream to sit down and say, ‘What’s our space in this world? Where are we in this world?’ And the world offers you so much to explore.”

The release date is still a mystery, but we do know it’ll be heading to PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

MSI Tease with New Black’n’White Motherboard

MSI has teased us with yet another photo of a new motherboard. This time it’s the MSI z97 SLI Krait Edition. The new board is born purely for the customers as MSI has listened to their feedback, special that from modders and have now created this new black and white themed motherboard.

Computer modding is an ever-growing market. Long over is the time where you had to paint everything yourself to get a colour-themed computer. There is nothing in the way of those black and white themed builds any more; no need to paint it yourself anymore.

The features look pretty ordinary, not much to mention there. I’m sure we’ll get many more details on this new motherboard very soon and it will be interesting to see if we get more boards in this theme. They have made entire red’n’black themed series before, so it’s not unthinkable.

Introducing, the New MSI X99S XPOWER AC

MSIRawZ has been busy tonight, visiting different forums around the web and presenting us with an image of the newest X99 offering. The MSI X99S XPOWER AC is a beautiful black and yellow motherboard based around the new X99 chipset.

With 8 memory sockets for four channelDDR4 support, you won’t run out of free RAM any time soon. The board also features five PCI Express Gen3 x16 slots and one PCIe x1 slot. It looks like it has 12x SATA ports and  2x USB2.0 and 1 USB3.0 header. Below the bottom PCIe slot there seems to be a molex connector, quite possible to supply extra power to all the PCI Express lanes.

This is a clear overclocking board, that “likes LN2 with several new overclocking features”, but what those features might be is up to anyones guess. The frosty look also clearly indicate ice cold operations.

Will this be the new king for the overclockers? We’ll find out when it hits the market. RawZ finishes his very small post with the words “What do you want more?”  Until then, you might be interested in our recent review of the MSI Z97 MPOWER MAX AC motherboard.

Batman v Superman Teaser Trailer Leaks

Ok we know this trailer looks like someone filmed it using a potato, the quality is pretty dire to say the least, but last night saw the new Batman v Superman trailer played to a crowd at Comic-Con and until now, no one outside of that screening has seen the trailer.

The trailer is pretty short, but we do see the general costume design of both Batman and Superman, pending what looks set to be an epic fight.

Just keep in mind that there are a few adults in the crowd who are a little too excited when the trailer comes on screen, so expect NSFW language.

Roccat Teasing “Own The Couch” For Computex 2014

Roccat are cooking up something big for Computex 2014 with the launch of a teaser website called Own The Couch. With the Computex event set to take play next week (eTeknix will be there!) Roccat look set to make a “contribution to your living room experience” when they make their full announcement on June 10th.

What could this be? We’ll I think it is a safe bet that it will be a peripheral, or range of peripherals that are best suited to big screen gaming. My first guess would be a new controller, something the company hasn’t done yet. However it could also be a living room friendly mouse and keyboard combo, who knows.

This is a pretty big deal though, especially since Roccat are one of the best in the business for creating high-quality, high-performance gaming products, so I’ve no doubt that whatever it is, it will be awesome.

Either that, or they plan on selling blue leather couches, now that would be weird.
