With superheroes taking over everything from our hearts to the big screens, the public thinking and their reviews impact people. It would seem though that bad reviews may affect the actors more than you originally review.
In its opening weekend Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has started its universe with a whopping $245m internationally and $170 million in the US alone, coming in the top 10 openings of all time in North America at number 6. The film has been received quite mixed, though, with initial “you must see this!” and “it’s amazing” comments being shadowed by the publics “overhyped” comments that have come out since its release.
One thing people don’t think about when writing a review is the feeling of the actors and the people who put their effort into creating the final project, and it would seem that Ben Affleck during an interview with Yahoo was unable to hide his emotions and upset at the reviews as well as others. In the below video someone had made sure that we notice the upset that Affleck seems to have regarding the reviews that were part of a “mixed response”.
If you were interested in what Henry Carville was saying during the emotional music, you can find a full snippet of this interview below.
With DC’s hopes that this will start off their Justice League franchise, have they done enough to win over the audience or are the negative reviews showing that our expectations for superhero films are a little higher than they had hoped? Leave your thoughts in the comments below, but please no spoilers!
Hotly-anticipated comic book movie spectacular Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice held its world première in New York last night, and the critical reaction to the film has been vociferous, to say the least. It seems that, despite much apprehension, last night’s audience thinks it’s… good. Really good. Standing ovation and tears good. I know. I’m a surprised as you, especially after that last trailer:
The consensus following the movie’s first screening is that it Gal Godot’s Wonder Woman steals the show, Ben Affleck makes a fine Batman, and that the whole affair is infinitely better than Man of Steel (though hardly a tough act to follow), making it possibly the best superhero movie ever made.
Heartfelt reactions, or hyperbole resulting from low expectations? You decide:
Before the première, director Zack Snyder revealed that the movie nearly featured two of Batman’s most famous adversaries, Joker and The Riddler. During the press junket, Snyder said (via Collider):
“The Joker and The Riddler both came close to being in this movie. We talked about the possibility of putting them in. [Screenwriter] Chris Terrio and I talked about it a lot and felt that their mythological presence is felt in the movie and that’s cool, but I didn’t want to get my eye too far off the ball because I needed to spend the time, frankly, with Batman and Superman to understand the conflict.”
Official reviews for Superman v Batman: Dawn of Justice are still under embargo, so we’re still waiting for more nuanced examinations of its merits, but the film goes on general release in cinemas across the world on 25th March.
Come March, you can be the hero that Rocket League deserves with the release of the new Batmobile DLC. The new vehicle is an official tie-in with the forthcoming DC sequel – and Justice League precursor – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which pits Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight against the Henry Cavill’s reprised Man of Steel, a battle that eventually unites them with Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and The Flash against emergent antagonists Lex Luthor and Doomsday.
“Fans of Rocket League will soon take control of the iconic Batmobile from the highly anticipated Warner Bros. film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!” the Rocket League blog reads. “Available Tuesday, March 8, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack will put players behind the wheel of the world-famous crime-fighting vehicle, which has been faithfully re-created in Rocket League, to mirror Batman’s ride in the upcoming film.”
“In addition to the Batmobile itself, the Car Pack will also include three exclusive Antenna Flags enabling players to show their allegiance to World’s Finest Trinity: Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman,” it adds. “Priced at $1.99 USD (or regional equivalent), the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack is officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and will release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam, on March 8!”
With the premiere of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice only a month away, the final trailer for the hotly-anticipated blockbuster has been released, and unofficially, it seems. The trailer shows that, despite his superior strength and power, Superman might have a tougher time going toe-to-toe with Batman that he may have expected. Either way, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor seems to be enjoying the spectacle:
“They were wonderful to work with because we were all sort of adjusting things to make the scenes as good as they could be,” Eisenberg said. “Henry has already played Superman in another movie so he has such a strong idea of his character. That was fun for me because I could play with that. Ben Affleck is also very sharp. Doing this was a lot of fun because the three of us like to improvise, changing dialogue and all. But it was also strange for me: I have a lot of respect for both of them and yet my character mocks them both a lot in the movie. But that was just the nature of the thing.”
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on 25th March.

With the San Diego Comic Con currently on going, it is no surprise to see a few new trailers released for upcoming comic inspired movies. This trailer does give us a better look at the upcoming feature and the trailers shows us a lot more information regarding Ben Afflecks interpretation of the caped crusader. So far Batman is starting to look incredibly awesome, the trailer also gives us a glimpse of Superman’s perspective as he is blamed for the destruction of Metropolis. We are given our first look at Wonderwoman although it’s very brief, we also get a look of Jesse Eisenberg’s role of Lex Luthor, as he seems to play a pivotal role in the film.
So far Batman V Superman is looking pretty great, hopefully we will see more of Batman and Superman fighting each other rather than them fighting for screen time.
Here we can see a sneaky shot of Robins costume littered with graffiti with joker being the clear culprit, it’s possible joker will be playing a role in the movie and maybe even robin.
In the next screenshot, we can see of Lex Luthor glancing over some kryptonite in a glass case, definitely will play a big plot point in the film.
Are you pumped for Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice?
It doesn’t take much to get the rumour mill running these days, but I have to say that this is one that I’m particularly excited about. A new screenshot published on Twitter hints that Warner Bros’ studio in Montreal might be working on a new game, and what a game it could be.
The screenshot that was published shows a character selection screen and there isn’t any doubt who we see there. The user interface buttons, however, resemble something close to a Xbox 360/One controller design.
The rumour suggests that an open-world Superman game could be in the works and that is backed by the news from last week where WB Games Montreal is hiring to fill 15 positions for an open world action game. The game name wasn’t specified and it was just referred to as “a new IP project for next generation game platforms”. Furthermore, the description hints even more in the Superman direction as it reads “a passionate dev team developing DC Comics focused AAA games that evolve and celebrate the legendary brands of Warner Bros.”
After the rumour broke, other sources told that Warner Bros Montreal isn’t working on a Superman game, but rather the rumoured Suicide Squad. Neither is confirmed or denied.
I for one really hope that there is an open-world Superman game in the works somewhere out there, even if it isn’t by Warner Bros. That is one game I’d absolutely have to have.
Who’s the better superhero isn’t something you should say out loud in a comic book shop, but it might be a question that will be answered for some in the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice movie.
Comic-Con in Sand Diego is less than a week away and it is just pure logic that we would get some new images from the new science fiction movie around this time. The new images come to us thanks to Entertainment Weekly and we would like to share them with you too. We know that a lot of people are looking forward to this movie.
As you’ll know by now, the film finds Kal-El (Henry Cavill) going up against Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) as a world-weary Batman decides that Superman is just too much of a threat to ignore.
Naturally Batman can’t fight someone like Superman on his own, he’s just a guy with gear – so that gear has been upgraded and reinforced with some handy Kryptonite.
Batman and Superman aren’t the only two superheroes you’ll get to see in this movie, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) is also present.
These are all basically good guys (and girl) and a Hollywood movie can’t be a Hollywood movie without a real bad guy. And who better than good old Lex Luthor.
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is scheduled for March 25th next year, so we still need a little patience in that regards. Until then you can watch the official teaser trailer and more fresh pictures below.
Thank You EW for providing us with this information
I love a little bit of Lego animation from time to time, mostly because you’re never too old for Lego, but also because I appreciate the time and effort people put into these fun little projects, just to amuse random people on the internet.
The movie is already shaping up to be quite an interesting addition to the whole comic book movie scene, despite many lingering questions over how ridiculous it is going to be. If you haven’t seen the original trailer which leaked a few days ago, I wouldn’t want to spoil anything for you in the form of Lego animation; you can check out the original trailer right here.
The original trailer is certainly dark and intense and it’s great to see that none of that is lost in the Lego version, although I now wonder if this movie will get the now seemingly obligatory Lego game release, just like virtually every other film does these days.
Will you be in the line to see the new movie on release day? After an intense trilogy at the hands of Christopher Nolan, I’m eager to see how this new Batman holds up, not to mention settle the debate of who will win, Batman or Superman?
Well it’s finally starting, leaked trailers of THE superhero film. Yes we have The Avengers which is awesome, but this is just something that will stir inside us. Back in the day, at one time or another; we all thought about “What if Superman fought Batman/ Wolverine/ Ironman/ Thor?” Obviously Superman is pretty much indestructible, so first thought is Batman is going down and hard.
Now this isn’t the first trailer for the new film, we have the official teaser, but this one seems a lot darker and sinister.
Very dark stuff indeed. It has been doing the rounds on Twitter, some mocking how dark it is. At points during the trailer, you can hear the chanting of “Go Home, Go Home!” over and over, something that really resonated with me. It seems like this film is all about a public uproar and how heroes should be banding together, but are instead ripping each other apart.
How do you feel with the new film and how this trailer portrays it? Do you think that the only way to get reactions from the target audience is to turn everything into a dark thriller? Heck even Disney are going down the dark path with some of their newer live action films.

Yes, you read that right, the first ever issue of Action Comics is on sale on eBay for $1.75 million! Why eBay you ask? I can’t answer that question, surely something of this value and importance to fictional character history would be sold at a very private auction where only extremely rich and insane people gather to spend ridiculous amounts of money on what is essentially, paper.
This comic is the alpha comic book, the grand master, this is the very first comic book ever to feature Superman, call it his debut of the world if you like. It’s “The finest known copy of the most sought after comic book in the world. A 1938 museum piece with PERFECT WHITE pristine pages”, now if anything has a description like that, you know it’s going to be worth mega bucks. The owner is lucky chap Darren Adams and he purchased the copy from a collector who kept it locked in a bank vault, guess that protection is paying off now. Adams also says “I’m hoping that the next person can enjoy it as much as I do. I’d love it if a museum purchased this book for all to see”.
This comic has been around since 1938 and for it to have pristine white pages after all this time is nothing short of amazing. You can find the auction on eBay here.

Ok we know this trailer looks like someone filmed it using a potato, the quality is pretty dire to say the least, but last night saw the new Batman v Superman trailer played to a crowd at Comic-Con and until now, no one outside of that screening has seen the trailer.
The trailer is pretty short, but we do see the general costume design of both Batman and Superman, pending what looks set to be an epic fight.
Just keep in mind that there are a few adults in the crowd who are a little too excited when the trailer comes on screen, so expect NSFW language.
Real or Fake? That’s the question right now. A trailer has appeared online appearing to show a teaser trailer for the new Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice film. Now there are several reasons to believe this trailer and think it’s the real deal but there are also reasons to think it’s a huge fake.
Reasons to think it’s real:
The revealing of this trailer is timed very closely to Comic Con 2014 so maybe they leaked it on purpose to get some hype?
A description of the trailer that was going to be shown at comic con was released two weeks ago. The trailer that has been leaked matches the description perfectly.
Reasons to think it’s fake:
The trailer shows the Legendary Pictures logo briefly even though Legendary Picture gave up their rights for the film. They swapped a producer role on Dawn of Justice for a producer role on Interstellar.
Someone could of made the trailer based off of the description released two weeks ago to make it seem real.
The quality is ridiculously bad, could be on purpose to cover up errors.
Check out this Machinima video that covers all the pros and cons of this alleged teaser trailer.
The Central Motorway Police Group pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation, when the vehicle was spotted driving on M42 near Solihull, West Midlands. The car was stopped for suspicion of driving without insurance and not having a rear window, which had a red cape instead.
Both the driver and passenger were dressed as Superman, driving an old, rusty Peugeot 106 near Solihull, West Midlands.
Here is what officers from the Central Motorway Police Group tweeted: “Even Superman needs insurance! We don’t work for Lex Luthor but we had to remove Superman’s wheels from the road.”
It doesn’t matter where you’re located, but police officers on patrol tend to see rather curious things while out on patrol. The bizarre tweet from the British police even garnered a response from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s office.

GoPro have been used for some pretty epic stunts in the past, we’ve seen them strapped to sky divers, or even more awesome, Felix Baumgartner when he did his jump. They’ve been attached to cars, bikes, jets, you name it! However, there are few GoPro tricks in this world that can top the video below.
Superman gets his camera and takes off for a fly around the city, fights some bad guys, save the hot girl and then was obviously nice enough to upload it to YouTube, awesome.
Yeah ok, we know that’s not the real superman! The trick was done using a superb GoPro camera strapped to a very cool quadrocopter, add a few camera tricks and some CGI arms and you’ve got a nice little video to keep us all entertained.
If you want to see how it was done, check out the behind the scenes video below.
Thank you Zoo for providing us with this information.
Superman has been around since ’30s and has since then been one of the favourite characters which kids looked up to during their childhood. Comics, serials, movies, action figures and more have been released with the character, generating a large profit throughout the years.
It looks like one of the oldest cover design for what may be the oldest comic book cover featuring Superman has recently been auctioned. The auction ended eventually, and seen the item sell for more than a quarter of a million dollars.
Action Comics No. 15, which represents Superman holding up a U.S. Submarine codenamed ‘D-11’ from the bottom of the ocean, sold for $286,800 through Heritage Auctions. It was first valued and listed at a price of $30,000, a design made by Fred Guardineer.
As the reported who firs spotted the auction listing, the price is still less than half of an Amazing Spider-Man cover designed and drawn by Todd McFarlane, which sold for $675,250 as well as the Tintin in America cover by $ 1.6 million, both sold two years ago.
