Lego Batman Is Back In His Own Trailer – Beat Box and All

It has now been two years since The Lego Movie graced our screens, with a mix of comedy and moral lessons making it perfect who anyone who enjoyed playing with the bricks when they were a child. Of all the characters in the film, a few stood out for their “unique” takes on people, with the rage controlling UniKitty (shown here in the Lego Dimensions trailer) and probably the most notable character Batman. Lego Batman is back and this time, he is starring in the trailer for his own film.

The Lego Batman Movie will feature Batman voiced by Will Arnett, alongside some jokes that seem perfect for the new version of the caped crusader. The films confirmed to include Lego versions of Robin, Batgirl and Joker alongside some other characters you may recognize if you pause at 1:23.

If you are as excited as we are to see this film, it comes out on February 10th, 2017, so you will have to settle for playing as Lego Batman in any of his games, which are on sale this weekend on Steam for 75% off, or you could grab the Lego Movie game, also for 75% off.

Facebook Plans to Send Breaking News Alerts with New App

Facebook has taken an interest in the news business for some time and has pushed to take a piece of the market share since then. We’ve seen it deliver the latest breaking news on the social media platform and from what I’ve seen, the news pushed by the social media giant is really spot-on hot. But now, Facebook wants to send the hottest news straight to your phone.

They are said to be working on a new breaking news standalone app, which is still in its early stages. Once the app is released, Facebook says it will ask you to choose what news sources you like, what topics and get all the hottest news from them through push notifications. All news will link back to the original website on which it was published, but getting a 100 character push notification of your favourite news as it gets published really sounds something of a ‘must-have’ to me.

It is said that the app will have a select number of news websites, which is to be expected, but more may be added after it gets released. Since Facebook wanted to take a bite out of the news market, this new app could really bring them a small fortune. Also, having the ability to select and make deals with news websites will surely increase the social media giant’s capital in the long run, while also making a name for itself in the news market.

Take a Look at a Leaked Version of Cortana for Android

Microsoft announced in May that it will roll out its personal assistant, Cortana, to Android and iOS. As the official launch is getting closer, so are the leaks it seems. Word is that a pre-release version of Cortana has cropped up last weekend on various websites.

It is said that the standalone Cortana app is already running smoothly on devices and is compatible with Android 4.1.2 and later OS versions. There have been some problems with getting it to work on some handsets, but that is bound to happen as it is a leaked version and not the official app. However, you can at least try it out before you decide if you actually want to get it for your Android handset.

People who had a chance to test it out say that it performs “as expected” and if you got a chance to test Windows 10 Preview for PC or Phones, then you most likely are familiar with what Cortana can do on Android or iOS devices too. There are some minor differences, like Cortana not being able to get content from emails or listen for music, but there were bound to be some restrictions in place. Compared to the integrated version on Windows Phones, the standalone Cortana for other OS’ requires permission to get access to pretty much everything, so if you don’t have a way to provide it, the app will not be able to use the external information.

Microsoft plans to launch Cortana for iOS and Android next week. They say it will hit the US, UK, Chinese, French, Italian and Spanish markets at first, followed by Canada and India in the following months and then the rest of the targeted markets by the end of the year. The company chose this approach due to the fact that it also wants to personalize the user interaction with Cortana. For example, the Japanese market will feature Cortana bowing by default to show signs of politeness, while the UK market will house a Cortana that expresses the well-known British humour.

You can download the leaked version of Cortana for Android from APKMirror. I already have a Windows Phone device, so if you have an Android handset and choose to test it out, don’t forget to share your thoughts with a comment below!

Sega and Relic Want to Revive the Company of Heroes 2 With a New Expansion

It’s been a long time since I heard about any news regarding the Company of Heroes title. The hype around it suddenly died soon after it got released, though the expansions that came after it did try to keep it going. The latest one, Adrenaline Assault, also shifted the focus on the eastern World War II front, taking the focus off the Allied forces and placing the Red Army in the spotlight.

This time around, the focus will move to the Brits and their forces. The upcoming expansion will be called Company of Heroes 2: The British Forces and will introduce fifteen new unites and six commanders, along with eight new multiplayer maps. It will also be a standalone multiplayer expansion, which means you don’t need to have Company of Heroes 2 in order to play it.

In addition to the expansion, Relic and Sega is planning a big update for all Company of Heroes 2 titles too. The latter will feature an improved balance between all factions, improved animations and visual improvements to the majority of units. It’s nice to see they are still supporting the Company of Heroes 2 title, but will this move to attract more players actually work this time?

The expansion and update are said to arrive on the 3rd of September, having the expansion cost £9.99. Sega said it will also offer a 20% discount to players who already own any Company of Heroes title, but only for pre-order purchases.

Forze Horizon 2 Trailer Shows Cars Found in the Upcoming Fast and Furious Expansion

The upcoming Fast and Furious movie is said to have a link with a new upcoming standalone DLC for the Forza Horizon 2 title released last year on the Xbox One and Xbox 360. This is really interesting since we can get the story spanned between the game and movie, an attempt which might be interesting to see and play at the same time.

Forza or even Fast and Furious fans who have been curious about the game can watch the trailer for some juicy cars you will expect to find in the expansion. It feature Dennis McCarthy, the car coordinator for the movies, explaining what exactly is shown in the trailer at hand. Aside from the latter, a few cars from Fast and Furious 7 are introduced as well, having them included in the expansion.

The DLC named Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious is said to be available to download on Xbox 360 and Xbox One starting from March 27th. A little side note to keep in mind is that the DLC will be free for the first week, so people who want to try it out can download it in the first week after its launch.

Gat out of Hell, New Saints Row Unveiled at PAX

Voliton had promised the announcement of a new project at PAX, and they came through with it. As expected it’s an addition to the Saints Row series, more specific it’s a standalone expansion to Saints Row IV and is called Gat out of Hell.

Many people were expecting a new game in the series, and while I’m sure that already is in the works as well, this is “just” an addition to the last game. In this version the crew is playing around with an Ouija board when their beloved boss suddenly gets sucked into hell. The crew, always up for an adventure, doesn’t need long to decide to follow him for a rescue.

Users who wish to play the new hell game don’t need to own the original, as it’s a standalone version, with everything included. It should launch in January, on the 27th, next year and cost $20. I for one am looking forward to blowing up some daemons with my dubstep gun.

New Standalone Client Available For Quake Live

Bethesda announced on their blog this Friday that the Free-to-Play variant of Quake 3 Arena now has a new standalone client. The browser-based game originally launched in August 2010, but there were concerns about browsers and how their improvements could affect gameplay and performance.

“Quake Live remains free to play and offers extended access and features to members with Premium and Pro accounts,” the blog states. “And to celebrate the New Year, Pro subscribers may now host matches for standard users on all seven Premium game modes, including Freeze Tag and Domination!”

Player profiles, match stats, clan rosters, and other commonly accessed pages are now located in the standalone client and can be accessed directly in-game without the need of a web-browser. Only the official forum and external links will open in the default web-browser as they state on their blog.

Some functions will remain on the website, such as the ability to manage clans, view profiles, manage certain account settings and even launch Pro matches can be accessed from the browser. Bethesda notes that messaging and chatting with friends, viewing the match browser and joining games will require Quake Live to be open.
