Grand Theft Auto V Realistic Vehicle Mod Pack is Now Available!

Grand Theft Auto V’s active community has produced a wide array of unusual character mods and custom vehicle designs. However, for the less-experienced user, applying each individual mod can be a laborious process. Thankfully, YouTube user, SteamLOL has compiled a number of user-created vehicle mods into a handy downloadable package. The collection features more than 50 highly-detailed authentic vehicles from manufacturers like Pagani and Mitsubishi.

Please note to install the mod pack, you will need to acquire OpenIV and then download the vehicles from here. The installer creates a backup of the default car setups incase any data becomes corrupt. The collection has an abundance of hypercars but lacks the typical road vehicles. This is a shame as I’d like to see affordable cars from Kia and Vauxhall on the streets too just to mix things up a bit.

Despite this, I’ve always loved to put real vehicles in Grand Theft Auto which adds to the game’s atmosphere and creates a more realistic tone. I’m also impressed with the interiors which are modeled superbly and make each vehicle a joy to drive. Hopefully, more car packs can be released in the future.

Have you installed any mods for GTA V yet?

New ‘8Pack’ Product Teaser Video Released

Ahh OverclockersUK, you like your teaser videos don’t you; teasing us mere peasants with technology we can only dream of. Well since the introductions of 8Pack to the OCUK team, the amount of ‘8Pack’ branded hardware to come out of there has been consistent in terms of quality and performance. Starting off with the 8Pack highly overclocked super systems and then onto the world’s first SuperFlower 2000w PSU with 8Pack branding; he seems to be offering the top end market exactly what they want.

Let’s take a look at some of the previous 8Pack teaser videos.

Very choppy, very little information apart from the PSU one. Something tells me that a new product is coming with the new video, but what could it be?

From first impressions, it is definitely a fan of some kind, is that steam/ LN2 fog being pushed out to the bottom left or just the shine of the fan fins? Could this be a new cooling unit, maybe an 8Pack liquid cooling unit, or maybe even a graphics card cooling unit? Who knows.

What’s that at the end of the video, a subliminal message of some sort? Play the video back and let us know what you think you can hear in the comments.

Cheap Electric Vehicles May Arrive on the Market Sooner than Expected

A recent analysis states that electric cars may soon be competing or even surpass gas cars on cost. This means that electric cars won’t be just a luxurious accessory for the few.

Manufacturers tend to keep the cost of lithium-ion batteries found in electric cars a strict secret, but a recent peer-reviewed study of more than 80 estimates reported between 2007 and 2014 suggests that the costs of battery packs are lower than assumed by energy-policy analysts.

The study suggests that batteries found in EV manufacturer cars such as Tesla and Nissan cost around $300 per KW/h in 2014. This estimate is much lower than the most optimistic projections published this year and even below the average projections published for 2020. The study also tells that the batteries could even reach $230 per KW/h by 2018.

People are also said to be more interested in EVs if the battery costs between $125 and $300 per KW/h. Having the battery cost be a quarter or even half of an EVs price tag, cheaper batteries would make the vehicle itself more cheaper. Alternatively, car manufacturers can maintain the current EV price tag, but offer a battery with much longer ranges instead.

The range factor on an EV is also a crucial thing for buyers, because it would be cheaper to fill an EV with electricity than a car running on gas. It is said that charging an EV with a 300 mile range would cost less than $10. Also, the study states that if batteries fall as low as $150 per KW/h, this may lead to “a potential paradigm shift in vehicle technology”.

The analyst report that the cost of battery packs is falling around 8% each year, which they say is likely to continue at this rate in the following years as well. However, Luis Munuera, an energy analyst for the International Energy Agency, and Pierpaolo Cazzola, a transport policy analyst for the same agency, tend to be sceptical about the peer-reviewed in question, but they do seem to agree about “events moving quicker than expected in lithium-ion battery technology”.

Xbox One and 360 Get Free Titanfall DLC

If you have and Xbox One or 360 and Titanfall, then you might be happy to hear that the new DLC for the title is currently free on Microsoft’s console. The DLC includes three separate map packs: the IMC Rising, Frontier’s Edge and Expedition packs.

Respawn Entertainment, Titanfalls developer, might have made the DLCs free on the store due to the fact that today is the title’s one year anniversary, having it released on March 11 last year. Users can download the packs separately or get the Season Pass through the Xbox Games Store at $0.00, though the Season Pass is reported to be free only for the Xbox One console.

Silverstone SST-PB03 AA Emergency Battery Pack Review

Introduction

In our highly connected digital worlds, keeping on touch with everyone around us is virtually mandatory and as a result we find ourselves demanding more and more battery life from our mobile devices and smart phones. Naturally there is only so much power that can be crammed in to the shell of a smart phone and short of having a very bulky handset, the only real option for many of us is to stick near to a power source where we can give our phones a quick boost of power, although this is both inconvenient and unpractical. To keep us going, portable battery packs that allow us to charge our phones on the go have started cropping up through multiple vendors, making them a commodity for those of us that use our phones a lot whilst out on the go – myself being a prime example.

When it comes to selecting the right battery pack for your budget or needs, the number of options to choose from is huge and the vendors themselves know this. With the demand so high and the number of competing items growing at a rapid rate, every manufacturer is doing the best they can to set their products apart from the rest of the crowd, whether it be through design to suit a particular set of users, or through features and functionality by adding in additional features and accessories such as carry bags, torches, larger capacities and wireless charging capabilities. Whilst all off these products have a variety of designs and capacities, they all have internal batteries and when these come to the end of their working life, there is no option but to buy a new pack. Silverstone however believe they have to the solution to the problem of battery life, simply by removing the battery out of the equation, leaving the user the freedom to select their own batteries and thus the freedom to get a larger capacity of battery for a longer charge time,

Built into a metal casing with a plastic inside, Silverstone’s PB03 barging pack features a small LED light and also doubles up as an AA battery charger. With the cost of portable battery packs spread out across a fairly wide range of budgets, the real question to ask is whether you are better off in getting the PB03 and your own set of batteries, or should we stick to the plug and play units that require no user interaction apart from charging?

It goes without saying that we don’t expect there to be much included in the box alongside the battery and this is just the case with a short USB cable included for charging the battery pack (when rechargeable batteries are used) or connecting a mobile device that has a microUSB port.

Minecraft Gets Halloween Themed Texture Pack

It appears that Minecraft fans will get a little treat and no trick this Halloween. A Halloween Themed Texture Pack has been released and is available free of charge for Xbox 360 users. 4J Studios has been releasing texture packs and add-ons for Minecraft on the Xbox 360 at a rapid pace over the last few months.  Alongside the title updates 12 & 13, the studio released Minecraft Mash-up Packs, and Natural Texture Pack that recently hit the Xbox Live Store.

What do you get in it you ask? Basically the all themed zombies, creepy castles, pumpkin head environments, for example jack-o’-lanterns, screaming trees, slimy rivers, skeletal remains, black cats and much more. Players can even build their own Halloween world, so if you don’t have any plans for that night, you can have loads of fun playing around with Minecraft’s Halloween environment (and maybe even make a creepy map to scare your friends with).

Hurry up though, the offer is limited and the last day to get the Halloween Themed Texture is the 3rd of November. You can download the pack from the Xbox Live Marketplace here.
