Overclockers UK Announce Availability on Vertagear PL-6000 Gaming Chairs

Overclockers UK announced that they will be stocking the new P-Line gaming chairs from the renowned chair manufacturer Vertagear. Vertagear is no stranger in the warehouse of Overclockers UK who already have the S-Line gaming chairs in their line-up. You might remember them from our review a little while ago. The new P-Line series come in a variety of different colours and with new features such as the much-requested tilt locking mechanism.

The P-Line gaming chairs are designed for comfort and are the largest Vertagear chairs to date. The have a wider base and taller back and this XL sizing is designed for ultimate comfort and flexibility. A great gaming chair is worth a lot when you spend so many hours in it, and it’s something your body will thank you for in the long run.

The new series features the more stable and heavy duty base compared the S-Line and also uses Soft Polyurethane (PU) wheels that are perfect on both hard and soft floors alike. The previously mentioned tilt mechanism has been re-engineered and it can now be locked in the desired position. A chair has to either fit you right away or be customizable towards it.

The PL-6000 gaming chairs naturally also feature all the other things you’ll want from such a chair such as adjustable armrests, adjustable backrest, fully adjustable seat height, as well as comfortable and durable PVC Leather. There are also cushions for adjustable lumbar and head support.

The Vertagear PL-6000 chairs are available in a wide range of black and colour accent combinations, Black/Carbon, Black/Red, Black/Blue, Black/Green and Black/White.

The availability of the Vertagear PL-6000 series is set for March 2016, but they aren’t the cheapest of chairs and will set you back £319.99. A heavy price but one that might be worth considering if you spend a lot of hours in your chair.

Glorious PC Gaming Race Now Available at Overclockers UK

Overclockers UK has brought quite a few brands to the UK and now they’ve added one more in the form of Glorious PC Gaming Race products. Behind the unusual brand name but well-known terminology, is a manufacturer of gaming surfaces and ergonomic wrist rests that so far has been taking on fans by storm. The brand has become a go-to for mechanical keyboard enthusiast communities and generally made a big impact in the USA. Now it is time for us on the other side of the pond to enjoy these products.

Glorious PC Gaming Race products are now exclusively available in the UK through Overclockers UK. The quality
of these surfaces is said to be fantastic with smooth cloth surfaces, high-quality anti-slip rubber bases, and stitched
edges on all products to avoid fraying.

All the wrist rests and mouse pads are black, except for one. There is a white full desk gaming surface available too. There are large and extra large surfaces as well keyboard wrist rests for both normal and compact sized keyboards. When considering the quality and size we get on the available Glorious PC Gaming Race products, the prices are more than fair. It starts at just £5.99 G-L Large Pro Gaming Surface and tops out at £19.99 for the G-XXL Tall Extended Full Desk Large Pro Gaming Surface.

Now, you might consider £19.99 a lot for a mouse pad, but it’s a lot more than that. The name already tells that it’s a full desk surface and it will cover about 92cm x 46cm (36″ x 18″ x 0.12″). That is a surface large enough to easily place both your mouse and a full sized keyboard with room to spare. I’ve long wanted a large surface for my entire desk, maybe this makes it the perfect time to get going with it and get myself some premium surfaces.

Overclockers UK Expands to Eight More GAME Stores

Overclockers UK launched their new partnership with GAME back in early December and it was a big success. The two companies joined forces in this partnership to bring an extensive range of exclusive gaming PCs, components, and accessories in a few selected GAME stores and GAME’s online site.

The partnership started relative small with just two shops setting up Overclockers UK displays, but that is about to change. The two initial stores will be expanded with eight more which makes it a total of ten GAME stores across the UK where you can find the great PC hardware provided by Overclockers UK. Today you can visit the Teeside Shopping Park and the Metro Centre and will be greeted with a shiny new interactive display from Overclockers UK. The display offers customers the chance to play the latest games on cutting edge PC hardware.

The two stores displays launched back in December are in Basingstoke and Manchester. Yesterday they opened up in Stockton and Newcastle Upon Tyne, and today it is Glasgow’s turn. Tomorrow it will be Chester, Friday it will be Cardiff and Gloucester while the last two shop displays will be launched on Saturday in Portsmouth and Bournemouth. You can find the full details to each of these locations below.

It is really great to see PC hardware making a comeback to the streets after so many years where we have seen a steady decline in the same. I have no doubt that this will continue to be a success for both GAME and Overclockers UK.

Overclockers UK Launches Incredible Value “8Pack Approved” Bundle

Ian “8Pack” Parry is one of the most respected overclockers in the world and renowned for setting various world records! Not only that, he employs his many years of experience and specialized expertise to help retailer, Overclockers UK produce extreme grade bundles as well as pre-configured dream systems. After focusing on the elite tier market, 8Pack has decided to cater towards the mainstream customer while only recommending hardware he would feel comfortable using.

The 8Pack Approved Gaming bundle includes an Intel Core i5-6400, 8GB (2x4GB) HyperX Fury 2666MHz DDR4 memory (upgradable to 16GB), ASUS Z170-E motherboard, Alpenföhn Brocken 2 CPU Cooler and 1g Thermal Grizzly which allows for multiple applications. This basic package retails for £329.95 and includes free next day shipping via DPD. By default, the CPU is capable of reaching 4.4GHz despite having a locked multiplier. This is because you can attain substantial speed increases using BCLK adjustments. If this seems like a daunting experience, then there’s nothing to worry about as 8Pack has outlined the recommended settings to easily reach the 4.4GHz figure. Furthermore, if you encounter any problems, he’s usually on hand to help out!

While the bundled air cooler is perfectly acceptable, some users might prefer a more visually pleasing alternative. For an extra £40.94, you can acquire the OcUK TechLabs 120mm All-In-One Watercooler which comes with a Silverstone FQ121 fan in black. This is one of the best water cooling fans on the market and maintains quiet operation. Overall, this is a fantastic bundle for users on a budget and incorporates possibly the best technical support available to consumers.

It’s also great to see a number of options in terms of memory capacity and cooler preference. Since the revelations about Skylake’s CPU strap, there’s no real reason to opt for an unlocked multiplier unless you want to simplify the overclocking process. However, in this case, the hard work has already been done by 8Pack with the hardware testing and recommended profiles.

BitFenix Pandora ATX Now Available at Overclockers UK

BitFenix is back with their latest chassis, the BitFenix Pandora ATX, a bigger and better version of the stunning Pandora M-ATX. We actually reviewed the M-ATX model, and you can check that out here. We’re expecting a sample of the new one too, so if you’re dying to see what the fuss is about, stay tuned.

If you can’t wait for the review and you want to get your hands on this new chassis, you’ll be happy to hear that Overclockers UK will have plenty of stock of Pandora ATX. There’s are two models at launch, the ATX and the ATX Core, both of which are only available in black, at least at launch. The Pandora ATX is equipped with the 2.8” ICON LCD display in the front, allowing for an added personalized touch of the front fascia, just like we saw on the original Pandora in our original review. (pictured below).

“Internally, the Pandora ATX stays true to the BitFenix DNA of innovation – this time mainly evident in the one-piece power cover design, effectively creating a separate bottom chamber for the PSU and HDDs at the bottom. This solution gives added space for exposure of hardware for modding projects, improves case rigidity and shields HDD and PSU noise.”

The Pandora ATX comes equipped with a 140mm fan in the front, a 120mm in the back, is water cooling capable, with room for a mighty impressive 360mm radiator in the top or front, and even has all the dedicated brackets you’ll need for pumps and reservoirs, so high-end system builders are going to love it!

In terms of expansion capabilities, the Pandora ATX comes with support for up to 440mm long graphics cards, 4x 2.5” SSDs and 4x 3.5” HDDs. Maximum PSU length is 220 mm, while CPU cooler height is a maximum of 160mm.

You can find the Pandora at Overclockers UK here if that link gives you a 404, please use this alternative product page link.

You Can Now Pre-Order der8auer’s Delid-Die-Mate at Overclockers UK

Anyone who ever thought of delidding their CPUs got excited when we first heard of der8auer’s delid-die-mate about a week ago and back then we heard that it would launch at Caseking. With a launch at Caseking it was just a matter of time before we got the official confirmation that it also would come to the Brits via Overclockers UK, after all, it’s one company. That has now happened and Overclockers UK have officially listed the Delid-Die-Mate available for pre-orders.

De-lidding is the process of removing the Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS) of the CPU in order to replace the original thermal interface material with something better. The default TIM is far from the best and especially hard-core overclockers will be able to push their processors further with less thermal restrictions. Up until now that process has been tricky and dangerous as it requires manually cutting the glue away holding the parts together, a process that only needed a single slip to destroy the CPU.

The Delid-Die-Mate solves this problem and offers a much safer delid process. The tool is two precision milled blocks that clamp together around the CPU with even force distribution that locks the CPU in place safely. By turning the screw on the back of the device, the lid of the CPU is pushed steadily away from the PCB with no risk of damage to your
expensive performance CPU.

The Delid-Die-Mate is compatible with Skylake, Ivy Bridge, Haswell, Devils Canyon, and Broadwell processors, and it can as previously mentioned be pre-ordered now for £62.99 at Overclockers UK. der8auer also created a Haswell OC frame, a CPU-mounting frame developed for the stronger overclocking delidded Intel Haswell, Devil’s canyon and Broadwell CPUs on socket 115x motherboards, but that will set you back another £27.95.

More Retailers Down – Another Round of DDoS Attacks?

It seems that the DDoS attacks which took down major UK retailers such as Scan, Aria and Novatech are far from over. We’ve seen reports and experienced issues first hand with sites like CCL Computers, Overclockers UK (and their Forums) and Chillblast all being hit last night and today with the sites being unaccessible.

You can try the sites yourself, but popular up-time checker Down for Everyone is showing similar reports. We’ve even seen Chillblast reporting on Twitter that their services have been down, but seem to be back up at the moment.

What’s weird about this attack is that its specifically PC system integrators and retail websites in the UK, so it seems someone has picked this market as flavour of the week. Scan have reported that they received an email asking for Bitcoins if they want their service restored, but it seems that none of the sites hit so far as stupid enough to pay, as that would open the door for further attacks, nor guarantee their recovery in the first place.

Could this be the same? It certainly seems so and we’ll be keeping an eye on the situation as it develops.

Have you noticed any major UK tech websites down today? Let us know in the comments section below.

Overclockers UK Launches Huge Graphics Cards Sale!

Overclockers UK often engages in heavy promotions and offers some of the best prices for components. In particular, their huge graphics card range caters to various budgets and aggressively targets the UK’s lowest price-point. As a result, consumers can acquire graphics cards at a discounted price and other retailers try to price match to become competitive. However, many struggle to compete with OCUK’s staggering buying power and stock levels.

Today, the company launched a comprehensive sale across a wide array of graphics cards. This includes budget-orientated models like the R9 270X all the way up to the GTX 980Ti. Interestingly, OCUK’s graphics card promotion spans to a number of older-generation cards at rock-bottom prices. For example, you can purchase an MSI Frozr Gaming GTX 780 for only £169.99. This performs similar to the GTX 970 while being approximately £100 cheaper! There is also a reference designed MSI GTX 770 for £109.99 and GTX MSI Gaming LE 780Ti for £239.99. These cards are all backed with a 2-year warranty.

For the price, the 780Ti is astonishing value and used to be a top-tier graphics card. In terms of real world performance, the card competes with the GTX 980 which retails between £375-£450.

Finally, you can pick up the Fury X for £499.99 and the R9 Nano is priced at £469.99. Thankfully, the Fury X prices have come down to the RRP as inflated prices were imposed by retailers due to stock shortages. On another note, the KFA2 GTX 980Ti is available for £479.99 and built on the Titan X PCB. This makes it a good choice for custom water-cooling configurations. My pick of the sale has to be the EVGA GTX 980Ti Superclocked+ which retails for £509.99.

This particular card is used in my own personal rig and features a core clock of 1102MHz and boost of 1190MHz. Additionally the ACX 2.0+ cooling system results in quiet operating temperatures and utilizes a semi-passive 0db mode under low load. The GPU implements a lovely EVGA logo and branding via white LEDs and opts for a hefty backplate.

Please note, only the NVIDIA 900 series cards are eligible for the free game promotion.

Overclockers UK Evolution Envy Mini Gaming PC Review

Introduction

Overclockers UK is an established player in the hardware retail sector and provides a stellar customer service through approachable team members and impeccable communication on the site’s official forum. The company’s highly adept team of engineers produces a wide array of custom PC builds to suit varying budgets and contrasting tastes. OCUK decided to send the Evolution Envy Mini Gaming PC for review purposes which features a substantial upgrade compared to the basic model.

This particular configuration includes an Intel Core i7-4970K, 8GB DDR3 2400 MHz RAM, NVIDIA GTX 970, MSI Z97I AC ITX motherboard, 120GB Samsung SSD boot drive, 1TB Samsung SSD data drive and ultra-reliable SuperFlower HX 550W 80+ gold power supply. The CPU has been manually overclocked to a frequency of 4.5 GHz and remains relatively cool due to an Asetek-designed-240mm closed-looped-liquid cooler. OCUK combined this wonderful array of components in a portable form-factor which makes it the perfect LAN event PC. Although, it will be fascinating to determine if the restricted space causes any issues during stressful benchmarks.

Packing and Accessories

The Evolution Envy Mini comes in a surprisingly large box given the chassis size which contains two thick cardboard layers held together by banded wires. This ensures the package remains protected during transit as it’s virtually impossible for the box or its contents to become dislodged.

Once the cardboard layers have been removed, we can see the main chassis alongside strong, protective foam. OCUK also employed durable side supports to enhance the box’s net weight and increase the packaging’s stability. Please note, the retail version is complete with component boxes but this isn’t included on press samples as the packaging is easily lost among other samples.

On another note, the system is bundled with a comprehensive setup guide and tasty selection of Haribo sweets. The setup manual is excellent and explains in clear, concise English how to attach your peripherals. It also gives an indication about fault checking and advises when to contact customer support.

Here we can see the main chassis box which provides a good amount of padding to reduce impact during shipping. Thankfully, OCUK’s attentive approach with the outer packaging kept the chassis cosmetically and mechanically sound. In theory, they could have got away with just sending the item in a chassis box, but avoided this due to damage concerns.

The chassis box contains a precautionary message informing you to retain the packaging for RMA purposes. This is very clear, and in bold writing so it’s impossible to throw away the original packaging without prior notice of OCUK’s return procedure.

After the top seal has been broken, we can see the tightly packed case which features two supporting foam blocks and a large cover. I didn’t encounter any rips on the cover whatsoever which signifies the chassis was well protected and didn’t fall victim to any cosmetic marks.

The foam supports are surprisingly thick for an ITX-size case and constructed from remarkably strong material. As a result, I found it difficult to bend or snap the supports despite applying a significant amount of force. This means, the chassis withstands a lot of punishment and offers enough protection against even the most heavy-handed couriers.

Raijintek STYX Now Available at Overclockers UK

Raijintek was very successful with the METIS line of Micro Towers and it’s hard to see it going any other way with the STYX. Getting one of the new Raijintek STYX cases isn’t as hard as it was before as Overclockers UK announces that they’re stocking the entire line-up.

The STYX is built on the same basic principle as the METIS, it’s just larger and can accommodate Micro-ATX motherboards on top of Mini-ITX motherboards while keeping similar aesthetics with its brushed aluminium chassis. It is available in six colours as well as with or without sidepanel window. A bigger chassis also allows for more cooling and you can mount two 120mm fans or a 240mm radiator in the top of the case and one on the side. There’s also support for a 120mm fan on the rear and one at the bottom of the chassis.

You can mount graphics cards with a length of up to 280mm and CPU coolers with a height of up to 180mm in the Raijintek STYX. It is designed for use with default ATX power supplies and also offers plenty of storage bays. There is an opening for use with a slimline slot-in optical drive and support for three 3.5-inch and six 2.5-inch drives, allowing you to add plenty of storage to the system. The chassis also comes with front audio and two USB 3.0 ports.

You can pre-order one of the 12 available Raijintek STYX chassis now and get one as soon as the become available. The non-windowed version will cost you £62.99 while the one with a window will cost £2 more, a minor premium for those who want to be able to see inside their chassis.

8Pack and der8auer Smash 3 World Records at ROG OC Showdown 2015

8Pack isn’t known as one of the best overclockers in the world for no reason and he has just shown everyone why that is at the recent ASUS ROG OC  Showdown Area 2015 by not only winning the event but also breaking two world records himself while his partner in “crime” der8auer also cracked a record.

The records were created on the ASUS Rampage Extreme V motherboard with ASUS GeForce GTX Titan X in Triple & Quad-SLI configuration and using LN2 cooling:

 • Catzilla 1440P – 56747 by 8pack
 • Catzilla 720P – 94997 by der8auer
 • 3DMark11 Performance – 53396 by 8pack

Other partners for the event besides ASUS, were HyperX, Seasonic, and Dimastech supplying the hardware that was used.

8Pack’s normal home is at Overclockers UK where they also sell specialized and highly overclocked systems by just him, 8Pack. So if you got the taste for just the best, you can buy it directly. Those systems won’t come cheap though as the cheapest system starts at £4679.94 incl. VAT.

New ‘8Pack’ Product Teaser Video Released

Ahh OverclockersUK, you like your teaser videos don’t you; teasing us mere peasants with technology we can only dream of. Well since the introductions of 8Pack to the OCUK team, the amount of ‘8Pack’ branded hardware to come out of there has been consistent in terms of quality and performance. Starting off with the 8Pack highly overclocked super systems and then onto the world’s first SuperFlower 2000w PSU with 8Pack branding; he seems to be offering the top end market exactly what they want.

Let’s take a look at some of the previous 8Pack teaser videos.

Very choppy, very little information apart from the PSU one. Something tells me that a new product is coming with the new video, but what could it be?

From first impressions, it is definitely a fan of some kind, is that steam/ LN2 fog being pushed out to the bottom left or just the shine of the fan fins? Could this be a new cooling unit, maybe an 8Pack liquid cooling unit, or maybe even a graphics card cooling unit? Who knows.

What’s that at the end of the video, a subliminal message of some sort? Play the video back and let us know what you think you can hear in the comments.

DEEPCOOL in stock at Amazon UK

After leaving OverclockersUK online store, DEEPCOOL has been out of the UK cooling market for a little while. This left a hole in most of us that loved the initiative designs and cooling capabilities of their products. Well now that hole can be filled with DEEPCOOL being restocked back in the UK through Amazon, HAZZAHH!

DEEPCOOL, what started off as a company producing high-end cooling solutions for laptops and PCs such as the Assassin series air cooler and Captain series liquid coolers, now produces some amazing products that are designed around keeping the inside of your computer icy cool; cases and power supplies being a few.

Let’s hope more competition in the UK market brings us more radical designs from EU companies.

Many UK Vendors Now Accepting GTX 970 Returns

While NVIDIA sits on its hands over the GeForce GTX 970 debacle, vendors across the UK and Germany have started accepting returns of the product from customers who are unhappy with the graphics card.

NVIDIA has been accused of falsely advertising the capabilities of the GTX 970 card – sold as carrying 4GB memory, but allocation problems mean that only the first pool of 3.5GB is readily accessible – and many customers are unhappy.

Overclockers in the UK and Caseking.de in Germany have said that they will accept returns of the graphics card if customers are dissatisfied. Anyone interested in returning their GTX 970 has until the end of February to do so.

It’s Back – Overclockers UK Create GTX 9 Series Pyramid

We work very closely with Overclockers UK, and we know that even though business is of paramount importance, they also like to have a bit of fun too. Especially when it comes to interacting with their customer base and many frequent visitors to their huge forums.

In typical taste of the lads at OcUK, they have devised a cunning plan of showing off some of their stock of various branded GTX 900 series graphics cards. They have done something similar in the past with new graphics card launches, so regular fans of them will know what to expect.

With the last launch day pyramid, the picture circulated the web in every direction and we feel this one will be no different.

Overclockers UK state:

The pyramid is just a small taste of what Overclockers UK have to offer, with inventory of over 1000 NVIDIA GTX 9 series graphics cards.”

They have also apologised for the lack of an iconic item; the soft toy burger, which has always photobombed these types of pictures, but with a hectic launch in the early hours, it was sadly forgotten.

To make up for it, they have given a large selection of cards from various brands at amazing prices to keep you happy, so check out what’s available here.

It’s also worth noting that their gaming systems have also been updated to include the new cards as a choice when ‘speccing’ up a new rig.

Breaking News: Overclockers Slash AMD Graphics Prices, Including 295X2

Are you sat there stroking your wallet, wondering if you should make an impulse purchase of a bleeding edge bit of technology? Then I have some great news for you, because if you were struggling to make your mind up due to the high price of something like the AMD Radeon R9 295X2, which usually costs £999, then you’re going to freak out when you see that Overclockers UK have crashed the price of their Sapphire R9 295X2 by a whopping 32%, bringing the unit down to a much more reasonable £699.95. The downside of this great deal? They’ve only got 100 units available, so it’s likely a bad idea to sleep on it.

“Even better, the Sapphire R9-295X2 comes with the AMD Gold reward giving the customer a choice of 3 FREE GAMES including the recently launched Never Settle Forever Space Edition which includes Alien:Isolation and Star Citizen. The price is less than buying two R9-290X separately, so this really is a world class deal.” said OCUK

The 295X2 is certainly the star of the show in this sale, but let’s not forget that there are several other crazy deals going on that warrant your attention. Just look at the image below, Sapphire Radeon R9 290 and 290X cards from £259.99! 34″ 21:9 monitor and a 28″ 4K display for crazy prices, as well as huge discounts of GPU water blocks for the 295X2 and high-end Super Flower power supplies.

Time for an upgrade? Let us know if you were lucky enough to grab one of these deals!

Overclockers UK Booth at Insomnia i52

We’re hanging out at the Overclockers UK booth chatting with legendary overclocked and modder 8 Pack (pictured above on the left). Overclockers are one of the biggest and best computer retailers here in the UK and they’ve brought all kinds of cool gadgets along with them for you to check out at the show.

They’re also still running their famous deliver to desk service, providing a life line for those in need of replacement parts, upgrades and more at the show, a vital service when you have a few thousand games in the other halls.

The Nvidia Shield tablet was on display for people to try out, so far it has been a popular attraction and we’re certainly fans of this mighty powerful little device.

Overclockers sell gaming PCs and their booth is littered with many of their popular choices, ready for you to pull up a seat and play some games.

The Emperor gaming rig is here again, always a show favourite and the crowd just loves having a go on this £10,000 behemoth setup that is unlike any gaming desk on the market.

That’s everything from this booth for today, but we’ll be back shortly with even more coverage from this weekends event.

AMD Radeon Battlefield 4 Shop Event Coverage at Overclockers UK

Earlier this week one of the UKs top computer retailers held an awesome event so their new and existing customers could come down to their store and join in fun. Those who attended were in for a real treat as they had massive discounts on some of the latest and greatest AMD based hardware, as well as raffles, games and more to enjoy.

Those who got their early enough were able to reap the benefits of the sales before anyone else, so long as they had enough money with them at the time. Two lucky punters were able to pick up the Sapphire Radeon R9 295X2 graphics card at just £749! Obviously still expensive, but that £250 discount goes a long way.

The AMD sponsored event drew in an eager crowd. With the temptation of winning prizes, getting to spend the afternoon playing around on high-end gaming PCs that most of us could only dream of owning and getting a few bargains at the same time is a hard offer to pass up.

All the latest technology was on display (as usual) in the store, but for the special occasion they’ve put up signs around the shop with exclusive daily deals.

ASUS R9 280X graphics cards for just £149.99! Although I must admit I would rather have the 295X2 for the same price.

One lucky owner now £749 lighter leaving happily with his new GPU.

Hungry shoppers = unhappy shoppers, so the OCUK rocked up with a stand full of Domino’s pizzas to keep them satisfied.

Outside the team also set up an Airsoft firing range, those who got their early enough were awarded with raffle tickets for the prize draw later in the day and they even hosted a special system building demonstration to help educate their customers on how to look after their rigs.

If you missed out on the OCUK AMD day then you really missed out on a kick-ass event. Keep an eye on their Facebook page and website more often and next time they have an epic event like this, you can be there!

Overclockers UK Now Accepting Bitcoins

Whilst cyptocurrencies are not as widely spoken about today as they were only a few months back, the biggest currency of them all, Bitcoin, is still making its mark on the modern world, with more businesses recognising its value and how they can in turn make a profit by offering to accept Bitcoins in exchange for products or services.

The latest name in the tech industry to jump on the Bitcoin bandwagon is Overclockers UK, with full support now rolled out across their site for users to buy the latest and greatest hardware (as well as anything else that they chose) and pay with Bitcoins instead of money out of the bank.

The shopping  experience with OcUK has not changed one bit and users will not need to access any special hidden areas of the site in order to use Bitcoins, instead all they need to do is chuck everything in their basket as normal and at the checkout select Bitcoin as the desired payment method. A cryptokey for the payment provider BitPay is then provided and after users have sent the equivalent value of Bitcoins to BitPay, OcUK then receive proper money in exchange so that they can ship your goddie (and Haribo) out to you as normal.

There are one or two terms that need to be taken into account however. If paying by Bitcoin and you need to send an item back for refund, you will get your funds back in Bitcoins, but at the exchange rate that was present at the point of refund – any variances in exchange rates are not covered by OcUK and there is no option to have any reimbursement make in GBP to a bank account as the refund process is taken care of by BitPay.

If you need any more information on the Bitcoin payment system at Overclockers, or you’ve not got a clue why Bitcoin is, head over to OcUK’s information page, where all the information that you need is ready and waiting.

EXCLUSIVE: OcUK Debuts Wire-free SATA Adaptors

Getting a new and revolutionary product to market is always a challenge, but there are some instances where the product is so revolutionary that it changes the way in which we interact and manage our beloved systems. Following months of planning and r&d, Overclockers UK are proud to announce the launch of their exclusive wireless SATA adapters. Unlike a traditional SATA cable that for some requires meticulous cable management to fit just right in their system, this revolutionary product takes away that need, making the build time for your system much faster.

Each pair of adapters, once installed work just like any other SATA connection, although at this time the speed is limited to SATA 3Gbps. Running on a low power 2.4GHz connection, the adaptors can work up to distances of 2m with a shielded end and micro-antennae to block out any interference from other wireless devices. The plug and play units have an auto sensing channel selection to allow multiple sets to be installed into your system for the ultimate in cable management.

OcUK have got a limited run on these products whilst a SATA II set of adapters is in the development stage to see how the market warms to the concept. For a remarkable price of £199.99 (inc VAT) you can be one of the first to jump onto the next generation of wireless storage devices. I’m also told that bulk orders will see a significant discount. I can see already that this product is going to be a top-level product and I’d already be happy to give this our prestigious Innovation Award. Head over to OcUK with this link where you can get your orders in.

Kingston Releases 2800MHz HyperX memory

Kingston Technology has released its fastest-ever memory modules via its HyperX Division having a speed of 2,800MHz on the top-end Predator XMP Series, a nice addition to the Predator XMP series.

It is designed for gamers and overclockers and Kingston apparently believes is a requirement of those markets, the latest HyperX Predator XMP modules are available in speeds of up to 2,800MHz – the fastest Kingston has yet released. At those speeds, buyers of the flagship 8GB DDR3 kit, composed of 2 modules of 4GB, can expect a CAS latency of 12 – the trade-off required of bumping up the frequency of the modules.

‘We are proud to offer our flagship 2800MHz memory kits to overclockers, benchmarkers and system builders throughout the world,’ crowed Lawrence Yang, Kingston’s business manager for the HyperX division, at the unveiling. ‘Our HyperX engineers will continue working hard to improve high-speed yields to get faster product in the hands of our customers.’

The latest modules join the company’s existing HyperX Predator XMP family, the latest models of which include 1,866MHz at CL9 or CL10 (4GB or 8GB modules respectively) and 2,133MHz, 2,400MHz, and 2,666MHz at CL11 with only the highest-frequency 2,800MHz modules requiring a CAS latency of 12.

The company has only announced the singular 8GB dual-module kit for its 2,800MHz modules with no word of a 16GB dual- or quad-module kit in the works – the former being unlikely given the sacrifices typically made in producing such high-density memory modules. As usual, all modules in the HyperX Predator XMP range support Intel’s eXtreme Memory Profiles and include a lifetime warranty.

The pricing for the Kingston HyperX 8GB 2,800MHz kit is set at £191.21, a significant premium over the 2,400MHz version at £81.55.
