Driver Blames Demon in His Uber App for Killing Spree

An Uber driver, charged with the murder of six people, and wounding of two others on 20th February, has claimed that he was forced to commit the crimes by a “devil figure” in his Uber app, which was controlling his “mind and body.” In a series of documents released by the Kalamazoo Sheriff’s Office (obtained courtesy of the Detroit Free Press), Jason Dalton, a 45-year-old former Uber driver from Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA, told police after his arrest that a symbol resembling the head of a demon popped up on his app – which he used to conduct his business as an Uber driver – and “that’s when the problems started.”

“I asked Dalton what made him get his gun tonight and he said the Uber app made him,” the police report reads. “Dalton described the devil figure as a horned cow head or something like that and then it would give you an assignment and it would literally take over your whole body.”

Dalton claimed that when his Uber app turned from “red to black that is when he started having problems.” When the app returned to red, he “got his presence back.”

According to the accused’s wife, Carole Dalton, though, tells a different story. According to her, Dalton had been in an argument with a rival driver, who had supposedly shot at him. “[H]e was nearly run off the road last week by this same vehicle, which he believed was owned by an angry taxi driver, upset that Jason was now driving for Uber and taking away his business,” she told investigators.

Teen Charged With Murder After Taking Snapchat Selfie With Corpse

A teenager from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been charged with murder after he allegedly gunned-down one of his classmates and took a selfie with the corpse, which he then posted to a friend via photo sharing app Snapchat.

16-year-old Maxwell Marion Morton was unaware, however, that the gruesome photo that he sent was screencapped by his friend before it was auto-deleted. Morton then sent a number of follow-up texts that incriminated him further. After his arrest, Morton confessed to the offence and is now being charged as an adult.

District attorney John Peck said to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, regarding the Snapchat photo, “I’ve never seen it before, but it was a key piece of evidence that led investigators to the defendant.”

American Gamer Who Flew to UK to Kill Woman Receives Life Sentence

Shane Coffey, a 20-year-old American gamer who attacked a British woman in a chaotic knife attack, has been sentenced to a life sentence. After pleading guilty for attempted murder and grievous bodily harm, the American will have to serve at least eight-and-half-years.

Coffey was from Boston, Massachusetts, and broke into the 19-year-old woman, Farha Dowlut’s, home in Epsom, Surrey, on April 18, and then attacked her with a hunting knife. The victim’s 23-year-old brother was able to intervene to stop the attack before local police arrived.

Coffey and the victim first began communicating online when she was 14-years-old, and the blossoming relationship began to fizzle out after Coffey reportedly hacked her computer. He had her address because they exchanged several Christmas gifts with one another, and began chatting again in November 2013.

However, in March 2014, Dowlut told Coffey to “get out of her life,” and that is when the online relationship took a sinister turn – Coffeey already had a ticket booked for the UK, and passed through customs with cable ties, tape, and a hunting knife. Shortly thereafter, the attack took place, and the victim sustained cuts to her arms, legs and chest, along with post-traumatic stress from the incident.

A Surrey Police spokesman noted:

“This case was extremely complex and involved a set of unusual circumstances which could never have been foreseen by the victims. Coffeey had previously been in contact with the two victims through online gaming. He persisted in harassing them even after they tried to break off communication and in April travelled to their address from America without their knowledge or invitation.”

Man Shot Dead Over PlayStation 4 Sale!

The world can be an awful place sometimes, unfortunately today is one of those times as we hear that a man has lost his life over a PlayStation 4 games console.

Now I don’t want to drag all that nonsense in about “video games are a bad influence” as this is simply the case of an idiot who thought it would be a good idea to rob someone and murder them in cold blood, the console is just a catalyst to these tragic events.

According to a report over at San Jose Mercury, the man was met by a potential customer after offering to sell his PlayStation 4. When the man met with him to do a deal on the console, the victim was shot multiple times and the customer took the console and ran.

This is just a day after I heard of two teens being beaten badly here in the UK after they were robbed outside a video game store, also involving their PlayStation 4 being stolen from them.

A man in his 20’s is now dead, and San Francisco Police are conducting a search for the suspect, of course if you have any information that may help, you can contact police on 415-575-4444, or alternatively to send a text to TIP411, with the subject line “SFPD”.

Thank you Kotaku for providing us with this information.

Home Of Anti-Virus Pioneer John McAfee Burns Down

There seems to be a lot of news about John McAfee these days and while he is no longer at the helm of the Anti Virus software, he’s certainly still making more than a few headlines.

McAfee fled Belize last November after the murder of American expatriate Gregory Faull, to which police were trying to contact McAfee as a suspect but that still remains to make and progress and the murder is as yet unsolved, with McAfee still effectively trying to prove his innocence, albeit not very well.

His home has been destroyed in what is being described as a suspicious fire, damaging both of the main structures of the property and leaving a damage bill of around $250,000.

McAfee claims that there are corrupt politicians in Belize that are trying to pin the murder on him and that the fire could be consequence of people in Belize going to great lengths to harm him. Regardless of the reasons it’s all a little sensational and surprising, The McAfee name is well established in the tech industry but that hasn’t done him much good after a murder case, his home being torched and no doubt many other complications.

Who knows what the out comes of all this will be, but this is the internet of course and I encourage you to sound off in the comments section below.

13 Year Old Boy Attempts To Rape Mother, Then Murders Her, Because Of Call of Duty?

A boy from Iowa is on trial for some truly terrible crimes in what is quite simply a horrifying incident, unfortunately for the rest of the world, to add to the sadness of what has happened, video games have been brought into the mix once again.

The boy is on trial for the shooting and killing of his own mother last March, where evidence was heard from a 911 call where the boy (Noah Crooks) told the dispatcher that he shot his mother after she removed his copy of Call of Duty, the boy said “Something just came over me”.

Now of course, this isn’t a case of he played Call of Duty, saw that guns were cool and shot her, at the age of 13-14 it’s easily possible for anyone to get emotionally upset about something they care about, in this instance, it just happened to be a computer game.

“I feel crazy and I know I’m not. I think I have some form of ADD…I tried to rape her. I tried to rape her but I couldn’t do it…Who tries to rape their own mom? My life is down the drain now.” said Noah to the Jury, in regard to his attempted rape of his 37 year old mother.

Noah has admitted that he is responsible for his mothers killing, and his attorney confirms that he is not denying the charges, but the attorney is claiming that the boy suffered what is being referred to as a “tumor of rage”, rendering him insane at the time of the killing, confirmed by a child psychiatrist testimony that the boy would or has suffered from this mental illness and would likely see repeated episodes of violent behavior.

To make matters worse still, the gun used was a .22 caliber rifle, which was gifted to him by his mother when Noah was 11 years old, so he was already in possession of the weapon used for the murder and clearly had easy access to it from a young age.

The boys father wasn’t at home at the time of the incident only to find out from his son via text message, later confirmed by the local sheriff’s deputy, which is said to be the first confirmed killing in the town in over a 100 years.

My heart goes out to the family involved and it saddens me to hear stories like this to a great extent, because simply… this is just awful and no matter what anyone tells you, this boy clearly needed help and still does. Do I think this has anything to do with the boy playing Call of Duty, no I don’t, no one bit.

What are your thoughts on this one, where does the blame lie, is it simply with the child, with his parents for providing him with a weapon, or do you think its simply something like Call of Duty. I know this is a controversial subject on so many levels, but I really would like to here your opinions on this one.
