ASRock Announces the X99M-Killer USB 3.1 Socket LGA2011v3 Motherboard

ASRock has just announced its latest socket LGA2011v3 motherboard addition, the X99M-Killer USB 3.1, tailored specifically for Intel’s Core i7 Haswell-E processors. It comes in a micro-ATX form factor, featuring two 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 ports and a nice feature set.

The motherboard is said to have a 24-pin ATX, 8-pin EPS and an optional 4-pin Molex for powering it and all the components coupled to it. The X99M-Killer also has a 12-phase VRM for the CPU, having it wired to the four DDR4 DIMM slots in quad-channel support.

In terms of expansion slots, the motherboard comes with two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 and one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (x4 electrical). Storage connectivity is provided via the 10 SATA-Express 10 Gb/s ports, one eSata 6 Gb/s and one Ultra M.2.

The X99M-Killer comes with the ASRock Purity Sound 2 onboard audio solution featuring a 115 dBA SNR Codec, audio-grade capacitors, a headphones amplifier and ground-layer isolation. Internet connectivity is provided via two Gigabit Ethernet ports, one driven by the Killer E2205 and one by the Intel i218-V controllers.

Aside from the two USB 3.1 prots, there are also six USB 3.0 connectors available (four in the rear and two by header) and two USB 2.0 ports, designed to connect a user’s keyboard and mouse. The motherboard also features a dual-BIOS with manual switching between two physical EEPROMs.

ASRock did not offer any details on the X99M-Killer USB 3.1 motherboard in terms of pricing or availability just yet.

The Witcher 3 Runs at 60fps with Intel i7-4790 and GTX980 on Ultra Settings

After the disappointing news that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will lack support for DirectX 12 and a draw distance slider, the German gaming site Gamestar has given us some good news about the game, revealing that, when playing the PC version on Ultra settings, it ran at 60 frames-per-second in 1080p.

The Gamestar staff ran The Witcher 3 on an Intel i7-4790 with 16GB RAM and an NVIDIA GTX980 graphics card, and claim that it was a much smoother build that the preview build showcased by CD Projekt RED in January. The game also boasted NVIDIA HairWorks implementation, while fans of severed limbs flying through the air, CD Projekt RED has released the following new screenshot of the game.

Asus Rolls Out its G501 Gaming Notebook, Comes with GTX 960M and 4K Display

Asus has just launched its latest gaming notebook, the G501, featuring the latest solution in mobile GPU, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M. However, the graphics solution is not the only amazing thing to be noticed in this notebook.

The G501 features a completely new design compared to its predecessor. It measures in at just 0.81-inches thick and weighs in at 4.5 lbs, which is quite impressive since the notebook is a 15.6-inch display model.

The display equipped features a resolution of 3840 x 2160 4K IPS, similar to the GX500 model. In terms of specifications, the G501 comes with Intel’s 4th Gen Haswell Core i7 4720HQ and M2 PCIe SSD drives, claiming to deliver up to 1,400 MB/s speeds. Asus has also added a Thunderbolt port, similar to other ROG notebooks.

The Asus G501 is said to be available next month in the US at a starting price of $1,999 which will get you the notebook featuring the Intel Core i7 4720HQ CPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB M2 PCIe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M and 4K resolution display specification.

GIGABYTE Unveils The Lightest 17.3” Gaming Laptop with GTX 980M Graphics

GIGABYTE announced their latest entry into the gaming laptops with the 17.3” P37X. The ultra light laptop only weighs 2.8kg and is just 22.5mm thin. Inside it packs a Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M graphics card and Intel Core i7 processor and can achieve a P10000+ score in 3DMark 11.

Storage is configured to two rapid 512 GB mSATA SSDs and dual 2TB hard drives, blending speed and capacity into an incredibly thin and lightweight chassis.

The Macro Hub perfectly integrates and translates a series of keyboard and mouse operations into one touch. It has a scissor-switch key structure and a maximum of 25 macro sets can be customized.
