Former Rockstar North Head Suing The Company For $150M

It’s hard to find someone who has not heard of or played the Grand Theft Auto games, some played the original top down games while others enjoyed the series when it went 3D. One person who isn’t too keen on the name though is former Rockstar North head of the series creator who is now suing the company.

The former Rockstar North head, Leslie Benzies, took a sabbatical back in September 2014 but it was only in January that reports emerged stating that Benzies had left the company. A transcript of the call showed that Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, said on a call that Benzies not only went on sabbatical but decided to not return to Rockstar games. As with all these tales, Benzies statement within his lawsuit claims that when he returned to work on April 1st, 2015, his key had been deactivated. After security gave him access, he was then “ordered to leave by Rockstar North office manager without reason”.

In a statement provided by Christopher Bakes, partner at the Law firm Locke Lorde LLP, that during his sabbatical, Benzies “discovered numerous deceptions on the part of Take-Two, Rockstar, Rockstar North Ltd, Sam Houser and Dan Houser, who sought to force him out of the company and terminate his portion of royalty payments based upon arbitrary actions by the company’s royalty Allocation Committee, a committee that may or may not have actually ever met”.

While these are serious claims, the figure that these unpaid royalties add up to is over $150 million, a small sum for large companies but if the allegations turn out to be true, the damage could be much higher.

GTA V Redux Will Turn Your World Into a 4K Fireball

These days, when a company releases a game there tends to be two sets of development going on. Internally the company looks to bring out expansions, DLC, and fixes for the game, while externally everyday people look to create a whole new experience by modding the game to open up a whole new world for the player. One such mod looks to bring your GTA V experience to a whole new level with the GTA Redux mod.

The Grand Theft Auto V Redux mod is the successor to the “Pinnacle of V” mod, designed to bring the game to a whole new level of graphics with a variety of new and updated features.

Looking for 4K resolution? They’ve got it. How about updated explosion graphics? Got it. Smoke and particle effects? Got it. The mod even adds new debris textures, making your gameplay experience even closer to that of a movie than an actual game. Redux will include newly worked physics and explosions alongside an overhauled weapon system, meaning that not only does the game look better it will play better as well.

Anyone else excited by this? The mod is made by John Romito, and since releasing his website for the mod he’s received 987 requests for tweaks to be made to the game. Ranging from something as fundamental as an overhaul of the physics engine to re-branding every vehicle and billboard advert found in the game. With so many features being brought to the game it’s only a matter of time before we get the mod released and lose ourselves to the highly detailed world of Los Santos again.

The Last of Us GTA V Mods Look Incredible!

There’s no shortage of truly incredible Grand Theft Auto V mods, but every now and then, something really special comes along that kicks things up a few notches. The latest mods that caught our eye are the Last of Us Joel and Map Mods, which transform the vibrant cities of GTA V into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The cities streets are quiet, the people are gone, the cars have all stopped and nature has slowly started to reclaim the streets and return it to the Earth.

What’s even more incredible about this mod is that it simply looks like The Last of Us. Those who’ve played the fantastic 3rd person adventure game on the PlayStation will certainly feel right at home watching this video.

As you could see in the video, the game lacks any kind of action at the moment, but there are so many mods already out there that it shouldn’t take much to combine this map and character mod with a few others. Add a few wild animals, throw in a few scavengers and murderers, and you’re good to go exploring a vast open world of urban jungle. I must admit, this would be a great setup to use in combination with a zombie mod, or as a multiplayer location. Of course, if you want to make things even weirder, why not add in these incredible Batmobile mods or cruise around the now desolate island in the Titanic?

If you want to take a look at these mods yourself, you can download After Us: Rodeo here. If you want to get Joel in on the action, you can download the mod for him here and complete the set.

Batmobile’s and Titanic Unleashed in GTA V

Grand Theft Auto is easily one of the greatest games in the series so far, the stories are fun, the graphics are great and the game world massive! However, no matter how much fun the game was at release, the PC modding community aren’t going to just take a day off and leave this one alone. While ripping around in the stock vehicles is a lot of fun, modded cars are where the real action is at, especially when those vehicles are eight of the most iconic Batmobiles!

This incredible mod adds the Batmobile 1966, Batmobile 1989, Batmobile MK2, The Tumbler, The Batwing, Batmobile 2016, The Batpod and the Batmobile Asylum; that’s a lot of potential Batman action right there! These are really detailed too, with interiors on the vehicles, weapons systems where appropriate and even the jet boosters for when you really need to get out there quickly and fight crime… or cause crime, no one said you had to be Batman.

Check out the videos below for a look at the new cars, as well as a flight in the Batwing. If that doesn’t have you reaching for the nearest mod download site, nothing will.

Just when you thought you had seen it all in terms of vehicle packs, there’s one that’s just a little bit bigger than the Batmobile, ok, it’s a LOT bigger. If you’ve ever dreamed about taking the Titanic on a cruise around the islands in GTA V, then today is your lucky day, as one modder has brought the iconic ship back for you to cruise around in.

I must admit, nothing says ultimate billionaire adventure pack like a luxury cruise ship and a Batmobile, so what are you waiting for. Download the Batman Vehicles mod here, and the Titanic mod here.

Which iconic vehicles would you like to see modded into GTA V?

Entire Batman v Superman Trailer Recreated in GTA V!

Grand Theft Auto has proven a popular game for video editors, with seemingly hundreds, if not thousands of trailers and movie scenes being remade using the in-game editing features. Then we’ve got the fantastic Batman v Superman trailer, which is no stranger to remakes either, as we’ve already seen it recreated using Lego! Now it’s time to put the two together, in what has to be one of the best Grand Theft Auto V trailer remakes to date, so sit back and enjoy the next three minutes of internet awesomeness.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Trailer Recreated In GTA 5. In this GTA 5 Machinima parody, the Batman v Superman trailer was recreated completely from scratch by the very talented Merfish! Make sure to check out his channel below for a side by side comparison! ” reads the video description.

It’s a fantastic video and a great example of why PC gaming is so freaking awesome. Just a few mods, and no doubt quite a lot of spare time is all it takes to win some internet points. If you want to see how closely it matches up, you can check out the side by side comparison video below.

Pinnacle of v GTA Mod Creator Gets in Trouble

The Pinnacle of V creator Josh Romito has been under a lot of heat recently. So much that he has now shut down the project due to claims that he has stolen assets from other Grand Theft Auto mods that are available online.

Josh claimed that some people have contributed graphical assets for him to use in the Pinnacle of V mod. However, he was unaware that they had been extracted from other mods.

“Over the past week or so, I have been informed that parts of this project have been directly stolen from other developers, and handed to me as additions to my work. I have been made a fool of due to the motions of my peers, and I am taking action to try to preserve any honesty and integrity with the community I can. I apologize to everyone who was stolen from, and I wish there was a way this could be reversed.” Josh told DSOGaming.

He then explained to them the reason he has decided to shut the project down:

“I have personally put hundreds of hours of my own time and hard, legitimate work into this project. I am truly hurt and disgusted to see the fraud that has come from others. I hope the community can see this situation for what it is, that I have been honest from the beginning, and am doing what I can to make amends of this wrong doing. I started this project as a learning experience, and it turned into fraud when others became involved. The internet is full of scammers and people who serve no purpose but to cause havoc. This was my first time getting involved in a “community” type project, and I was shocked to see some of the support I was receiving, and how generous people were. It turns out it was all lies and stolen content. I’m not sure how else to handle a situation like this, so I am simply shutting it down and releasing the honest truth.”

I think it’s a real shame that such a fantastic mod with a great creator has been forced to shut down the project due to people submitting illegitimate content. However, Josh has now said that he will be releasing a new version of the mod under a new title in the next few months.

Take-Two Dispatches Private Investigators to GTA V Modder’s Address

Grand Theft Auto Online is a fan project which has taken more than two years of development to make and provides a wonderful multiplayer experience. Sadly, Take-Two and Rockstar didn’t take kindly to the mod and demanded its closure. The mod’s official website contains a statement which reads:

“Take2 Interactive Inc. have contacted us and they asked us to stop GTA:Multiplayer, because from Take2’s point of view GTA:MP is a rival of their business. Grand Theft Auto and all its content is produced by Rockstar Games Inc. and published and owned by Take2 Interactive Inc. We, as developers, respect other developer’s intellectual property and their legitimate interests. Rockstar’s developers have invested so much time to create this beautiful game. We have repeatedly stated our position: We are not going to cross this line, we won’t damage them. “

You have to give the modding team credit for adopting such an understanding attitude. Sadly, it appears Take-Two has massively overstepped the mark and sent private investigators to the modder’s home. The modder said in a Reddit post:

“I just got a pair of PIs at my door claiming to be sent by Take-Two,”

“handing me a phone with a person somewhere in the UK or US or whatever to ‘discuss how to cease my activities with regard to Grand Theft Auto’, that ‘they know what happened before with Activision and want to not get the lawyers involved at this time’, however they ‘have tested their legal standing already and are quite certain of their point’ and ‘aren’t willing to accept any solution other than ceasing my activities’.

This shows a complete lack of respect for the modder’s work, despite his genuine admiration for Grand Theft Auto V. Publishers need to learn that the modding community extends the life of video games and keeps people interested. It also allows people to be creative and get into game development. Honestly, this is disgraceful and Take-Two’s reputation will undoubtedly suffer.

Ditch Batman – Enjoy This Epic GTA V Batmobile Mod Instead

Batman has been facing his toughest enemy to date this year, poor gaming performance! The devs may be working overtime to fix their mistakes, but if you’re wanting to enjoy a batman experience that is free from the issues of Arkham Knight, then you’ll want to fire up this awesome Grand Theft Auto V mod.

Tailtigolt has uploaded the following video to YouTube, showing off just how much chaos you can cause in GTA V with a missile equipped Bat Mobile.

The video is pretty cool, but if you want a better view, you’ll want to download the mod by esrohraw here, the textures from LUISDACOS and the nitro mod by xmod.

Now all we need is a decent Batman mod and you can bring a whole new world of crime fighting to the city.

Re Imagining Blink 182 Music Video “What’s My Age Again?” In GTA

All I can say is I am glad that for once, there is censorship within this video, otherwise the editor of eTeknix would have had my, well you know (He’s not wrong – Pete). If you are having a particularly bad day or you’re in need or a tech laugh, then some genius, yes I know that word has fallen into disrepute over the years but bear with me, has let’s say re-imagined late 90s hit “What’s my age again?” by US band Blink 182 in Grand Theft Auto. Perhaps this is the same chorus little Johnny/Jenny should sing before their mum or dad attempts to purchase an 18+ certificate game for them, oh the irony.

Below are two videos, the original Blink 182 version and also the GTA inspired music video, as you can see, ha ha and ha. This project was created by an individual who goes by the Youtube moniker “icanteven”. If you have seen the original video you might have noted that the band members are well, running in the buff, this has therefore been incorporated using Rockstar Video Editor and also character mods, censored ones at that mind you.

I cannot say this project is a faithful scene by scene recreation of the original, It might be, I just don’t recall Blink 182 being blasted and then run over with a tank. It may have been the anything goes 90s, but I think I would remember that.

Fake GTA6 Teaser Trailer Fails to Convince Us

A new game trailer is making its rounds, promising to show off the next generation engine and tease for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA6), but we have to burst the bubble right away as it isn’t real. Well, the video is real in the way it exists and can be watched, but it isn’t GTA6.

The people behind it, whoever they might be, have put quite a bit of work into the video, but they blew it right away by uploading a version where they didn’t even spell Rockstar right. That has now been edited out, but not before people noticed and screenshotted it.

The video in itself is somewhat a mix of everything and nothing. The description for the video mentioned a trip back to Vice City, but there’s only a very short clip actually showing the city. Instead, we see a muscle car drifting along a desert road as well was clips from what appears to be random cities from around the world. The language is clearly not English, as it can be seen on street signs for example.

The video was uploaded by a YouTube account called RockstarGamesBETA, which in itself speaks for a fake. It was a nice try and quite a few people fell for it – but you need to do better to convince us. There is no doubt that Rockstar will make a GTA6 and there is a good chance that it will come in 2017, but they are far from done milking GTA5 and they surely wouldn’t announce it this way. That said, we can still enjoy the work that was put into this fake teaser trailer.

Latest GTA V Mod Unleashes a Deadly UFO Attack!

Grand Theft Auto V is a lot of fun, but if you’re getting tired of fighting cops and gangs on the city streets, this new mod may be just what you’re looking for to liven up the action!

GTA V’s UFO Hunters is complete carnage, you simply pick how many alien ships you want to attack the city, hit go, the suffer the consequences. The goal is to blast as many of the flying saucers as possible out of the sky, without being killed yourself. Easier said than done, though, as the ships fire powerful blue plasma weapons, as well as suck cars and people up off the ground before firing them back down, so hazards are literally everywhere.

The mod certainly looks like a lot of fun, although I can’t think of many gaming situations where heavy weapons and alien shooting wasn’t fun! To get the mod up and running, you’ll need to download the mod, Script Hook 5 and the Community Scripthook 5 net, which you can find on the links below.

While you’re waiting for that to download, check out the video below and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Grand Theft Auto V Realistic Vehicle Mod Pack is Now Available!

Grand Theft Auto V’s active community has produced a wide array of unusual character mods and custom vehicle designs. However, for the less-experienced user, applying each individual mod can be a laborious process. Thankfully, YouTube user, SteamLOL has compiled a number of user-created vehicle mods into a handy downloadable package. The collection features more than 50 highly-detailed authentic vehicles from manufacturers like Pagani and Mitsubishi.

Please note to install the mod pack, you will need to acquire OpenIV and then download the vehicles from here. The installer creates a backup of the default car setups incase any data becomes corrupt. The collection has an abundance of hypercars but lacks the typical road vehicles. This is a shame as I’d like to see affordable cars from Kia and Vauxhall on the streets too just to mix things up a bit.

Despite this, I’ve always loved to put real vehicles in Grand Theft Auto which adds to the game’s atmosphere and creates a more realistic tone. I’m also impressed with the interiors which are modeled superbly and make each vehicle a joy to drive. Hopefully, more car packs can be released in the future.

Have you installed any mods for GTA V yet?

Rockstar Describes BBC GTA Drama as “Random, Made up B****cks”

Rockstar has publicly lambasted the BBC for producing a drama about the development of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The production, entitled, “The Gamechangers” charts the emotions of Rockstar producer, Sam Houser and stars everyone’s favourite wizard, Harry Potter, I mean Daniel Radcliffe. Bizarrely, Rockstar wasn’t even consulted about the drama and had no involvement in the story. This seems like a massive oversight as first-hand accounts from Rockstar staff would have greatly improved the plot’s accuracy.

The drama finally aired on September 15th and Rockstar proclaimed how absurd its production was and said:

Mainstream media has always been terrible at reporting video games and this is just another example. Grand Theft Auto V was highly-publicized for being violent and becoming the most successful entertainment launch ever. The BBC could have consulted with Rockstar and made a truly-brilliant production. Instead, they opted for a haphazard approach without any major research. Rockstar has already filled a trademark lawsuit against the BBC and they only have themselves to blame.

As video-games become even more widely accepted, mainstream media will attempt to cash in on that success. Frankly, this latest attempt is rather embarrassing and doesn’t help the BBC’s cause when trying to outline the value of the license fee.

GTA Online Updates Wont Be Available On Xbox 360 Or PS3

Grand Theft Auto is a long-standing series of games, all the way from the original top-down versions to the latest generations the game has seen success after success, but sadly everything must come to an end and the next ending seems to be the updates for GTA Online on Xbox 360 and PS3.

The announcement comes before next week’s update which will include features such as spontaneous open world events, available to anyone in the server. The reason given is a simple one, they believe they have reached the limit at which the technology on the last generation systems can handle. While not a surprise, and it has previously been mentioned as an option by Rockstar, they have also mentioned that they will continue server support for the game, meaning that you can still play GTA online on your PS3 and Xbox 360, but you will be unable to enjoy the latest fixes or features in single player.

In a previous statement on their newswire, they stated:

“As we mentioned previously, we always knew there might be a point where we would reach the technical capacity of what the older generation of consoles can handle as each downloadable update requires additional memory both for assets and for additional scripting.  We have continued to optimize the entire game over time in order to squeeze as much memory as we possibly could out of the last-generation hardware and at some point, continuing to add content for those systems could cause the risk of instability to the game overall.”

It’s had a good run, and for a game released two years ago to still be receiving updates is impressive. Do you enjoy GTA Online on 360 or PS3? If so are you thinking of changing to the latest console or the PC version of the game anytime soon?

Thank you Kotaku  and Rockstar games for the information.

Gorgeous New GTA Mod In The Pipeline Offers Fantastic Visuals

GTA Mods are fantastic in offering players a creative, dynamic and detailed adventures with which to explore using the full powerful potential of PC gaming. This time around a new work in progress mod by the name of the Toddyhancer by Martin Bergman conveys stunning visuals which will certainly please fans of the series.

Below is a video which illustrates the very much rough test mod in action, as you can see, it’s still needs tweaking and improving considering there looks to be lighting issues which have been picked up by users.  The detail within the scenery and vehicles looks fantastic, it certainly pushes the feeling of immersion to a whole new level.

Below is another viewpoint of the mod in the form of a screenshot, Mods are known for taking a while to fine tune and creator Martin Bergman recommends that players “not go crazy” with this mod, yep, good luck with that.  He has also noted that “Its just Reshade Shaders, ENB series, simple tweaks and some tonemapping with class!”  The Mod will also in all probability won’t be compatible with GTA V Online, this is due to developer Rockstar who have taken a hard-line with modding where online use is concerned.  This is a shame as creativity should be encouraged not demonized.

Mods are a fantastic way for fans and creative minds to recreate visuals that glossy company promotions fail to deliver.  We as gamers are told within the latest advert that these graphics will blow your shocks off, only to notice in the bottom right hand corner a sentence in size 2 font which states “these visuals are not representative of in-game footage” Do you know what really grinds my gears? the let down when you carefully place the disc into the drive only to be disappointed, I have never been let down with any title in the GTA series, but some games turn out be, well, just awful.

Hopefully this project will develop into something with even more visual eye candy.

GTA V AI Goes Mental – Causes Truly Epic Car Crash

Video game AI has made some incredible advancements in recent years; gaming just wouldn’t be the same without it! However, every now and then it goes wrong on a scale of epic proportions, which is no bad thing, because the results are more often than not, hilarious.

GTA V is a fantastic open-world game, with seemingly thousands of AI controlled NPCs that are just waiting to go haywire and I’m forever grateful that the gamer who saw this recorded the gameplay and uploaded it to the internet.

One simple car crash is nothing in GTA V, it happens all the time. This time, however, they just kept on coming, joining the heap and causing untold chaos the likes I’ve never seen. The end result is like something from Benny Hill crossed with Blues Brothers, perhaps even a little bit of Apocalypse Now for good measure.

The video is a little long at 5 minutes, but it’s certainly worth the watch.

It seems the inhabitants of this digital world don’t give a damn about those around them, from the Paramedic arriving already on fire, to the others kicking a burning man on the ground; it just keeps getting more and more out of hand and by the two-minute mark, it’s a total war zone!

Did someone say Benny Hill?

The Unofficial GTA V Map is Awesome!

The stock map on GTA V is functional enough for most of us, but if you’re out there looking for many of the games secrets, collectables and more. For those who are looking for a little more detail, you’ll want to check out Tspoon’s unofficial interactive GTA V map of Los Santos. It was recently updated to allow the addition of tracking collectibles, adding personal notes and more.

The app is already available through Google Play and the App Store, but you can also access it online in your browser, giving you plenty of ways to use it. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone found a way to mod it into the PC version of the game in the near future.

If you register for the app, you can track your progress of collectibles and more. There’s over 50 categories already available already, showing you the locations of shops, cinemas, easter eggs and a whole lot more, so it’s certainly worth checking out.

If you’re looking to 100% your game, you’ll want the app and no doubt there will be a lot more cool updates to it in the future, so it’ll be worth checking back for new secrets as they’re discovered in the game.

Latest GTA V ENBSeries Mod Screenshots are Incredible!

Before we start this article, I want to get something right out of the way; these configurations for ENBSeries are currently unreleased and you can’t have them, not even if you ask nicely. On the plus side, we do have some screenshots of this graphical gaming pornography and you can bet that the people behind it, ENBSeries members Ryuken and dpeasant, will keep improving and release the mod in the near future, that is after all the whole point of the modding scene.

The latest screenshots are eyewatering beautiful. In my opinion, there’s still a lot of work that can be done and let’s not forget, people are still making drastic improvements to GTA IV, let alone GTA V.

The game’s engine really shines through here and it shows just how much potential there is for modding the game and I can’t wait to see how much further it can be pushed; most likely a lot further than most people’s graphics cards will allow. Keep in mind, screenshots are one thing, playable framerates are something else completely.

ENBSeries already has some stunning improvements to bring to GTA V, but when combined with more mods, such as texture packs and mesh replacements, it’ll really take your game to the next level.

Update For GTA V Released

Oh the fun times I have had over the years with this game series, from the original Grand Theft Auto on the now vastly outdated but immensely fun PS1, to GTA V on the latest consoles and PC via Vice City and San Andreas. This game has been surprising yet brilliant entertainment and has also had cutting edge storytelling for the times with which the games were released.

The Latest addition to the series has benefited with a new update for the PC version which is a hefty -ish 400MB in size and will be auto-downloaded from Steam and Rockstar Social Club. So what does the new content have in store? Well to summarize as I don’t want to strain your eyes to death, the new features are as follows

  • 5 New vehicles for Legendary Motorsport for Story Mode
  • Two new weapons have been added to Ammu-Nation for Story Mode and GTA Online which unlock once player progresses to a certain point.
  • 15 new tattoos, 100s of new clothing items and 8 casual glasses.
  • Nine unique Knuckle Duster variants are available from Ammu-Nation for various story modes for the latest generation of consoles and PC.

Scarves and Cuffs have been added to the accessories section in the interaction menu ( this again is for latest consoles and PC)

Above are just the key points among many for this update, as for fixes, these amount to at least 100 in total which are split across various machines. There is no official log as yet for the update but this will be released in due course so stay tuned. Well at least Rockstar have kept the game fresh and interesting with new features, now if you excuse me, I’m off to hit some people with a bat, IN THE GAME! Before anyone has any ideas.

Grand Theft Auto 5 Gets Just Cause Grappling Hook Mod

Since word got out that Grand Theft Auto 5 can be modded, despite the company doing everything in their power to stop it, everyone went nuts with it. So we have mods that let you access the interior of buildings, shoot cars, lets you play as a police enforcer or even make an animal apocalyptic scenario. But there are many more out there, with other rolling out in the future as well.

The latest one comes from a popular modder who made some other cool mods for Grand Theft Auto IV. JulioNIB released a new mod for Grand Theft Auto V that brings the cool grappling hook gadget from the jungles of the Just Cause world into the city of Los Santos. The mod currently lets users attach the grappling hook to buildings, vehicles and pedestrians. However, there are even more cool things to do with it than just coupling with stuff.

As with the grappling hook in Just Cause, the GTA V mod lets you attach to more than one object at a time, fly to the hook’s attached location, pull pedestrians to your position and even use the parachute to fly while in mid-air if pulling yourself to the hook’s attached location. So it’s pretty much what you’ve wanted to use in Grand Theft Auto titles after you played the Just Cause titles too. Oh and if you want to download the mod, you can find it over at JulioNIB’s blog here.

GTA Player Hires Cheater to Save Him From Another Cheater

Rev Drucifer loves Grand Theft Auto V Online. It’s the only game he plays, clocking up about 80 days, real time, of time on it. It is his life. But there is one obstacle tainting his adoration, something that pushed him into taking drastic measures: cheaters.

“I wanted to start a new character/account that specifically focused on killing and keeping a high [kill/death ratio],” Drucifer told Kotaku. “I’m in a car with this guy and money bags start raining down. I realise my account is filling up FAST, so I jump out of the car… money is shooting out of my character’s arse. I’m yelling on the mic for him to stop, [but] he’s not stopping then all of a sudden [he] starts killing everyone in the lobby over and over.”

The player responsible had hacked the game in order to launch a malicious money honeytrap. Not only does such a bizarre event tempt players into picking up the spawning money, it tricks some into picking up too much, something that flags them to Rockstar Game’s automated monitoring system as a cheater, resulting in a ban. The fact the money was spewing from Drucifer’s character looked incredibly suspicious; despite him not being responsible for the event, he was kicked out of the game’s lobby.

“Normally, you’ll get a warning when other players start voting to kick you, but there was no warning, I was just OUT,” Drucifer said. “When I hit X to continue, it brought me to a Bad Sport lobby and I had $102,000,000 in my account. I had maybe a couple hundred thousand previously.”

After explaining the events to a Rockstar employee over the phone, in an effort to get his “bad sport” ranking abolished, Drucifer received the following e-mail in response:

You are receiving this automatic reply because you recently submitted a ticket to Rockstar Games Support with the term “Bad Sport” found in the text. If your tickets is not related to Bad Sports or you believe you are receiving this message in error, please feel free to respond and we will address your question.

We are sorry to hear that you are having a problem related to the Bad Sport pool in Grand Theft Auto Online. The Bad Sport pool is triggered by things like quitting games early, blowing up other people’s vehicles, and being reported manually or voted out by other players from the in-game pause menu.

The Bad Sport pool is temporary and ends after a certain period of time that is displayed when entering GTA Online. Please note that the duration of the Bad Sport period may increase if further violations occur while in the Bad Sport pool, including being reported by other players.

Rockstar Games

Drucifer was alone, and quite angry. He decided to take matters into his own hands. He sought out the most ethical modder he could find and offered them money to fix the situation for him. “I shot him a message telling him the situation,” Drucifer said. “He said he’d give it a try but didn’t promise anything. Fifteen minutes later, I was out of Bad Sport.”

Aptly Mafia-esque, it seems the community really does take care of itself.

Take-Two Sues BBC Over Forthcoming GTA Drama

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, filed a lawsuit against the BBC earlier today over the channel’s in-development drama about the rise of Rockstar and its infamous game franchise, Grand Theft Auto.

Take-Two released the following statement to Polygon regarding its lawsuit:

Take-Two Interactive has filed suit against the BBC for trademark infringement based on their movie currently titled ‘Game Changer’ as it relates to Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto video game series.

While holders of the trademarks referenced in the film title and its promotion, Rockstar Games has had no involvement with this project. Our goal is to ensure that our trademarks are not misused in the BBC’s pursuit of an unofficial depiction of purported events related to Rockstar Games. We have attempted multiple times to resolve this matter with the BBC without any meaningful resolution. It is our obligation to protect our intellectual property and unfortunately in this case litigation was necessary.

The 90-minute BBC Two show, Gamechanger, is currently being written by Rev scribe James Wood, directed by Owen Harris, with Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe in negotiations to play Sam Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar Games. The BBC describes the story as “arguably the greatest British coding success since Bletchley Park”:

“Unlike many coding success stories, Grant Theft Auto was not created in Silicon Valley — it was the brainchild of a bunch of British gaming geniuses who had known each other since their school days. In autumn 2013 its latest iteration — GTA:V — earned $1bn in its first three days, becoming the fastest selling entertainment product in history.

“GTA offered gamers the chance to step into a fantasy world where they could behave like criminals, gun down rival gangsters and cops, hijack cars and venture deeper into an imaginary American gangland underworld.

“But the violent gameplay coupled with its outstanding success led to fierce opposition: from parents worried about children immersing themselves in such a violent world; from politicians, alarmed at the values it encourages; and above all from moral-campaigners, who have fought passionately to stop it.

“Grand Theft Auto tells the story of how the game was conceived and created and the subsequent fallout as various groups objected to its violent gameplay.”

Modding Your GTA? It May be Time To Change Your Passwords!

Grand Theft Auto 5 was one of the biggest games of 2014. With both a storyline covering three different people, an online world (eventually) and even the ability to load in custom mods to change your offline experience. But what happens when those mods come with little easter eggs or rather viruses?

Firstly we have to thank the forum user aboutseven, if it wasn’t for their observational skills we might not have noticed these issues for a while now. Thanks to a keen eye aboutseven noticed that a C# compiler was hiding in the running processes on their computer. Titled “Fade.exe” the program was even using internet access! Fake.exe turns out to have actually been a keylogger, a malicious program which often copies and records what you type into your computer before sending it over the internet. This means someone could easily log into your accounts.

In this instance two mods, titled “Noclip” and “Angry Planes”, are responsible for this nasty piece of programming. Sites have been quick to distance themselves from these mods, taking the option to quickly remove them rather than face the backlash of hosting viruses. The first thing that you should do, if you have installed these mods, is remove the mods and do a virus scan. Once you have done these, change all your passwords (best to remove the keyloggers before you change your password right?).

It’s always best to do regular virus scans and be careful with what your downloading but when people are putting viruses into our sacred mods what will come of the modding community that makes PC games last for years beyond their release?

GTA V Drift Mod Will Let You Go Crazy in Los Santos

Gta V is making some serious headway in the modding world. It’s early stages yet, but some awesome mods have already been released. The name of the new mod is the LS Drift – Drifting Mod.

You get both controller support and Numpad/arrow key support. You can do the mod to any car, but sportscars and super cars are preferable to muscle cars. These cars are better for drifting due to their better handling. Before you use the script, go to Los Santos Customs and mod the front and rear bumper to better work for drifting. Feel free to add custom exhausts and grilles, as well as 100 % armor here. It makes the car look so much more impressive as it goes sideways in Los Santos

Gameranx have released the following:

  • To start, download ScripthookV.dll here.
  • Move this dll to your GTA V directory.
  • Download LS Drift here.
  • Move both LSDrift.asi and LSDrift.ini to your GTA V directory.
  • Run the game.
  • Once you’re inside the game, press F3 on the keyboard or RB+A on your controller to open the menu.
  • Navigate the menu with the Numpad or Arrow Keys (Change keys in LSDrift.ini).
  • And Drift Mod is on! To enable, just press and hold the Left Shift Key. Move your car around using your controller or NumPad/arrow keys.
  • Optionally, you can play with this feature on the airports, where you won’t have to worry about other cars to get in the way.

I’m yet to venture into the modding world for GTA V, but this looks pretty cool, let us know if you’ve tried this mod!

First iCEnhancer Screenshots & Video Released for GTA V

One of the most famous mods for Grand Theft Auto IV was easily iCEnhancer, it brought incredible realism to the game with improved lighting and post processing effects, to name but a few of the tweaks it offered. Now the developer behind it has released the first details of how the GTA V version of this mod is progressing and it’s very impressive what has been done in just a few short weeks.

iCEnhancer released the following update via Facebook:

“The first timecycle mod for GTA V. I did that quickly though and blindly but it’s already pretty cool for the future.

I removed the DOF weird noise shit during player transition and weapon changing, reduced the fog amount, i hated it, removed the blurry background, changed the sun color to something more neutral, less brown. changed the water, and removed the post effects for each character (as you may know, each character in V has their own post-processing).

Of course we can do more but it’s a start and mostly was a test with zzcool to see what we could change using unreleased OpenIV.

GTA V TC has a lot of controls, you can change so much and it’s cool, everyone can do their own tastes easily with it. Except to see weird stuff though from some people that I know haha. :-p

But yeah, might be time I start to play the PC version a little more then.

Thanks.”

Check out the gallery below to see how great the game is looking with the currently pre-alpha mod.

The team also released the following two videos, which show how the fog has been removed from the game, water reflections have been improved, colours have been improved and more.

Given the mod is still pre-alpha, it’s already looking very impressive and we can’t wait to get our hands on the first release! We’ll update you as soon as we have more information.

No Bans for GTA V Single Player Mods

As Rockstar was banning the players who were using mods (modification like FOV mod ) on both Single-player and Multiplayer mode of Grand Theft Auto : V. This resulted in  making the gaming community quite unhappy. Players found using mods were banned for a period of 2 weeks. However, it seems that Rockstar partially fixed the situation. In a new Q&A on the Rockstar Newswire, a GTA 5 developer confirmed that players will not be banned for using single-player mods. There will not be any ban till the modification stays in action in just single-player mode.

However, Rockstar says they can’t assure that mods will not be broken by updates. They did make sure that as long as it doesn’t cross into GTA Online, the multiplayer mode of GTA V, players are safe to mod their game. Here is the full statement.

“We have always appreciated the creative efforts of the PC modding community and we still fondly remember the awesome zombie invasion mod and original GTA map mod for GTAIV PC among many other classics. To be clear, the modding policy in our license has not changed and is the same as for GTAIV.  Recent updates to GTAV PC had an unintended effect of making unplayable certain single player modifications. This was not intentional, no one has been banned for using single player modifications, and you should not worry about being banned or being relegated to the cheater pool just for using single player PC mods. Our primary focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing. It also bears mentioning that because game mods are by definition unauthorized, they may be broken by technical updates, cause instability, or affect your game in other unforeseen ways.”

This is an excellent move by Rockstar. I’m going in Los Santos to enjoy mods. Play Safe, do not use mods that messes with GTA Online. Let us know your views in comments section.
