Elon Musk is known for a lot of things, from building the popular electric Tesla vehicles, co-founding Paypal and even banning those who are rude from buying his vehicles. It would seem however that amongst all this that has been given the public there have been private consequences, as a result we are sad to report that Elon Musk will separate from his wife after two and a half years together.
Wife Talulah Riley filed for divorce on the 21st March 2016, following up from an initial divorce filing that Musk filed in 2014 but later withdrew. All is not lost though as both parties say that the pair agreed to the divorce filing and that the action will be amicable.
In their statement, they revealed that they plan to remain friends and have been living separately for the past six months. The filing cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce filing, but Riley will be requesting spousal support from Musk, a man who has five sons from a previous marriage but none with Riley.
This isn’t their first divorce, with the pair originally marrying in 2010 only to divorce in 2012. The pair remarried 18 months later, sadly to end again the marriage again this year.
We wish both Elon Musk and Talulah Riley the best in their futures, both professionally and personally.
Elon Musk must be sitting in his office gleaming with how well his cars are doing; who knew all-electric vehicles were set to change the motoring world as much as they have. This time, a team of drivers have set yet another world record cross-country time from Los Angeles to New York City.
Previously a Tesla team did the journey in 76 hours, but that was all about efficiency rather than time; reason being that fast charge stations weren’t fully covering the entire length of the journey so more care had to be taken with efficiency. This time however, Tesla quick charge stations cover the entire path and the team managed the task in 58 hours and 55 minutes, smashing the previous EV record by around 90 minutes; set by Edmunds last year. This doesn’t even compare to the world record for non-EV’s, set at a mere 28 hours and 50 minutes by the Gumball Rallyers in 2013.
The key to this task was efficiency and speed, spend as little time as possible recharging while maintain the highest average speed; sadly EV’s only drawback is the charging time. The team only spent 12 hours and 48 minutes charging; this was achieved by following a much larger support vehicle in a process known as “drafting”; this enables the front car to take the brunt of air resistance, leaving a sort of air tunnel effect directly behind for following cars to take advantage of.
Once charging times go down and ranges go up, it won’t be long before electric cars become the car of choice for long-distance traveling.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla took to Twitter today to say that the car company will be unveiling its new product line. The new product line will not be a car and will unveil the new line at its Hawthorne Design Studio on Thursday April 30th, at 8pm.
That is all that was offered as a teaser, and it has many wondering if this means that it will be showing the new stationary battery pack that is designed to power an entire home. Last month Musk said that Tesla was nearing the launch of that product so this is very likely what it will end up being. Though as The Verge stated “But this is Tesla and Elon Musk we’re talking about, so the chance of a different, unforeseen surprise is always there”, something that is very true.
Major new Tesla product line — not a car — will be unveiled at our Hawthorne Design Studio on Thurs 8pm, April 30
AppleInsider reports that Apple’s Jony Ive and Tesla founder Elon Musk were seen talking to each other at Madonna’s exclusive Oscars after party. They say that they were “basically inseparable” and “really close”. The news comes at a time where Apple is rumoured to be building a car of its own, with suggestions that they may be looking at purchasing Musk’s Tesla Motors.
While the fact that the two were merely talking to each other is interesting, it’s also intriguing that Ive and Musk reportedly left the event together at 5am. It’s worth pointing out that these details are based on things said only by an anonymous source, as no pictures or video were allowed at the party.
Could they have been plotting a future Apple/Tesla deal, or were they simply discussing how much they love the buffet? We don’t know, but it would have been amazing to be a fly-on-the-wall at that party.
Never before have you read a headline like that – a software update improving the acceleration of a car. Yes, according to Elon Musk, a software update will soon be delivered that will tweak the algorithm in the Tesla Model S P85D, giving it 0.1 seconds faster acceleration.
Tesla founder Elon Musk delivered the news via one his typically modest tweets –
Tesla P85D 0 to 60mph acceleration will improve by ~0.1 sec soon via over-the-air software update to inverter algorithm
As we previously reported, Elon Musk’s SpaceX’s plan of effectively landing a rocked on a barge went unsuccessful, as the rocket effectively crashed. While Musk initially referred to the crash as perhaps a less exciting “failed landing”, he’s since decided to reveal some images and video of the event itself, and as you’ll see, this was a lot more than a “failed landing”.
While these images speak for themselves, it’s worth pointing out that he initially shared a series of frames from the video on Twitter, before the SpaceX account released the video bellow.
