Fast Food seems to keep getting quicker, going from one-minute meals in the microwave to weekly delivered healthy meals food and the internet have been constantly going hand in hand. It looks like it may go one step further though and combine ordering your meals with something as simple as a google search.
When searching for nearby restaurants, an option to “place an order” will be available. After selecting a delivery service, you will get taken to their website to place an order. The scheme is being trailed in the US with six different providers, but they are keen to add more in the future. With everything from MyPizza.com, Delivery.com and Eat24 offering their support for the scheme it is only a matter of time before other companies join in this scheme, and hopefully before a similar scheme is introduced in other countries.
With Google already the go-to place for many for web searches and getting information and images, how long do people think it will be until you can get a google food? Go onto the website, search for a particular type of food in your area and get options from all of their websites offering you their food on a single page?

Chinese scientists from the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the medical school of Tsinghua University have reportedly invented liquid metal machines that can change shape similar to the T-1000 robot in the Terminator 2 movie by ‘eating’ substances.
The machines are stated to ‘eat’ small pieces of aluminium and move spontaneously in various solutions and structured channels for more than an hour at a speed of 5 centimeters per second.
“The biomimetic mollusk is highly self-adaptive and closely conforms to the geometrical space it is in,” scientists wrote.
The power for the liquid metal motor comes from the endogenous electric field of liquid alloys, metal and hydrogen generated by the electrochemical reactions. Based on the latter theory, the researchers then developed several liquid metal machines that move in alkalescent, acidic or neutral electrolytes.

Scientists and engineers alike share the dream of advanced intelligent machines that are flexible and are able to spontaneously shape-shift, therefore real-world application possibilities granted from the prototypes developed by the Chinese researchers are infinite.
People who have been in a nursing home and inside the cafeteria will know that eating is one of the most difficult activities for an elderly person. They are most probably being served food which is easy to chew, such as puree and mashed food, but in most cases this comes at the expense of taste. However, a German company by the name of Biozoon Smoothfood is seeking to change the way elderly people eat and aims to bring some taste to their meals by using 3D-printed, easy-to-chew food.
THe company states that it is using liquified ingredients such as vegetables, meat, carbs and others instead of ink or PLA which a 3D printer would normally use. The ingredients then are inserted into the printer’s cartridge and come out as food which ‘melts in your mouth’, thanks to a binding agent. Bizoon currently makes six types of food, namely peas, pork, chicken, cauliflower, pasta and potatoes, but the company states they will add more diversity in the future.
Given that is a 3D printer, the food can be made in any shape dictated by the software. However, nobody wants to eat for example meat in the shape of fruit, therefore the company makes the food in the shape of its food items. Currently, the food is made off-site, but Bizoon plans to place printers directly inside nursing homes in the future since it makes it more practical and at hand to serve the food as soon as it is made.
