Carmageddon: Reincarnation Final Release Now Available on Steam

Here it is ladies and gentlemen, fans of Carmageddon and chaos raging peeps, the moment you have all been waiting for. The video games that best shows “everything that’s wrong in society”, Carmageddon: Reincarnation, is now out of Early Access and into its final release on Steam.

Stainless Games surprisingly kept the original look and feel of the original Carmageddon title in this latest release, having it come with 24 different vehicles or 25 if you count the Kickstarter bonus vehicle, 9 maps and 36 unique routes.

Fans looking to play the single player mode have 16 chapters fitted with up to 4 events each, so there’s plenty to do and run over in the latter game mode. But why spend too much time running over cows and people when you can bash your friends in multiplayer mode?

Carmageddon: Reincarnation comes with up a multiplayer mode that holds up to 8 players on an online map session. However, the best thing about the multiplayer mode is that it even has support for LAN. This means that we will see a lot of LAN parties and total vehicle mayhem in the near future.

There are 6 multiplayer modes, including Death Race, Fox ‘n’ Hounds, Checkpoint Stampede and Car Crusher. But the best mode in my opinion is Classic Carmageddon, which can bring back a lot of the old style car mayhem memories.

If you don’t have a PC to play the title, don’t worry. A PS4 and Xbox One version is also in the works, which the company plans on releasing later on this year. But until then, what do you think of the title so far? Is it everything you wanted to see in a Carmageddon series?

Carmageddon: Reincarnation Coming Sooner Than You Think, oooh yeah!

Stainless Games have just announced some stunning news that will no doubt please the faithful Carmageddon fan base, as well as a whole new generation of fans to the racing as a blood sport genre. On the 27th of March 2014, the wait is over, fans will be able to dive into the game that has been requested for going on 17 years now thanks to the blessing that is Steam Early Access.

This Early Access release is a milestone, as it marks the beginning of a new era in the Carmageddon story. Added bonus for Kickstarter backers is that if you put money down to support the development, you will be able to get behind the wheel two weeks before the Steam Early Access release.

Of course the game is still heavily in development, but if you want to be part of the games history and be along for the ride while it’s being made, or maybe your just impatient, then you can get in on the action very shortly.

“It’s brilliant to see our demonic baby rise screaming from the grave,” said Patrick Buckland, co-founder and CEO of Stainless Games and creative genius behind Carmageddon, “This time we could finally do the stuff that we wanted to do 17 years ago. More blood was the main thing. Rivers of livers – that’s what we wanted. Being publisher as well as developer means we get to be stupid. Properly, professionally stupid. And this game is stupider than Jupiter. I mean really silly – but in a good way. Nobody else makes games that make you cry with laughter – but we do. And did I mention the livers?”

Neil ‘Nobby’ Barnden, co-founder, Brand Director and “the other one” behind the original Carmageddon, added: “Blood and laughs. Amazing pile-ups. Awesome PowerUps. Insane… Insanity. The team is fantastic, the love we have for the title shines through, and even though the game is still pre-alpha it’s a bloody hoot to play!”

We can’t wait to see this game in its final form later in 2014, but for now you can enjoy their pre-alple damage tech trailer, which has a pretty unique musical score given the games overall themes of violence, destruction and burning rubber, enjoy!

$3.5 Million Investment Raised for Carmageddon: Reincarnation

Stainless Games Ltd has announced that the company has successfully completed a $3.5 million funding round for the development of the next iteration of of their legendary Carmageddon series, with Carmageddon: Reincarnation for next-gen gaming platforms.

Les Edgar, shareholder of Stainless Games, founder of Bullfrog Productions and former VP of EA’s European Studios has bridged the final part of the required funding for this development. This investment follows Stainless Games’ successful KICKSTARTER funding campaign the studio ran during June 2012 that contributed to the development of the PC release of the game.

“We are delighted to have fully funded CARMAGEDDON: REINCARNATION without having to go outside of the collective of our own company, shareholders and fans. It allows us to maintain a true independence and creative control whilst not having to compromise quality or content by budgetary constraints. ” said Patrick Buckland, CEO and co-founder of Stainless Games.

“For an independent, privately owned company to achieve this, is a testament to our strength and to the loyalty of our fans.” he added.

Following the successful release of the iOS version of the original Carmageddon game on both iPhone and iPad late last year (and their pending Android app release of the title), Stainless Games has completed another major goal in its mission to resurrect this legendary IP and reintroduce it to a new generation of fans. The finance secured during the last weeks by Stainless Games management and board will aid the company in expanding the development and launch of the next gen instalment.

“I have always had a great belief in Stainless, and I really admire their continued success as one of the leading indie dev studios. The Carmageddon name is one we all want to see rise again, and I know that in the hands of its original creators, we’re bound to get the best out of the brand.” said Les Edgar. “I’m delighted to be on board and helping make the project happen.”

The new title is set to re-engage the millions of players who enjoyed the previous versions for their excellent gameplay and irreverent humour; introduce a whole new generation of gamers to the legendary brand, and reinforce Stainless Games’ position as a strong independent developer driving unprecedented engagement for its players across all games they develop on any platform. Stainless Games Ltd. is an approved next gen developer and the experience, merit, knowledge and development discipline combined with this investment is a great indicator of the quality to be expected when Carmageddon: Reincarnation is unleashed.
