Cricket Captain 2015 Launches Today

There are a lot of manager games on the market from football to racing and everything in between, so why not a cricket manager game. And yes, there is one and the newest version of it will be released later today, Cricket Captain 2015.

“With the Australians in to town to take on England, one day international records falling daily and the launch of the all-new Cricket Captain 2015, this is set to be one of the most exciting cricket seasons for a decade.”

Cricket is a sport that is extremely popular in some parts of the world while other parts barely know it exists, so it is logical to assume that it will be a bigger hit some places than other. Britain, India, and Australia are markets where I’m sure it will find a lot of fans, and probably more.

The new Cricket Captain 2015 takes the experience to a new level and the game now includes Indian domestic club competitions, updated and expanded stats, a new and improved interface, updated 3D graphics, and a stack of other additions and improvements over the previous Cricket Captain games.

It is a game with low requirements, all you need is Windows Vista or higher, 1GB of RAM and a graphics card that supports OpenGL 2.0. Recommended graphics card is an Intel HD 4000, AMD HD 5450 1GB, and a Nvidia GT220 1GB or better.

New and improved for Cricket Captain 2015:

  • Indian Domestic System: play as any one of 27 teams in all three formats.
  • Improved Australian Contracts: bidding between states and reserve overseas players.
  • Versus International Stats: career stats for each player against each country.
  • Enhanced Coaching: new fielding and wicket keeping coaching system.
  • Pitch Map and Beehive: additional graphical stats displays, giving you more information than ever on player performances.
  • Improved Match Engine: modeling aggression and changes to 1-day and first class games.
  • New Stadiums: five Australian and eight English international grounds.
  • Classic England vs Australia Scenarios: six series home or away.
  • Improved Fonts and Interface: refreshed interface and sharper graphics on all displays.
  • Improved 3D graphics: new rendering and lighting system, including depth of field, shadows, and animated crowds.
  • Complete Statistical Update: including every current player and new ‘all-time-greats’.
  • Sort by Column & Name Search in Player Records and Squad Views: including multiple sorts e.g. batting average and strike rate.
  • Save/Load for International Squads: Automatic saving and loading of International Squads for each match type make squad selection seamless.
  • 2nd Team Data: separate 3-day, 1-day and 20 over team data to help you choose bespoke teams to best suit the format.
  • Batting Aggression Column: Personal and combined views now display batting aggression ratings making decisions even easier.
  • Keyboard Control System: including batting keyboard controls.
  • Additional Achievements and Leader-Boards.
  • Cloud-save: cross platform integration of Dropbox enables you to pick up any save from where you left off on any CC2015 enabled device.
  • Stay On-Line: accept on-line challenges while in single player mode.

Captain America HUGE Cast Announcement

If you are a fan of the Avengers film series and branched films; you’ll sure to be up to date with the film timeline. We’ve just had the release of Age of Ultron and Ant-Man will be out in the Summer, which stages the end of ‘Stage two’ of the film series. That then leave Captain America: Civil War to kick us back off in 2016 for the third and proposed, final filming stage.

With only a year until the release, filming has most likely already started (under wraps of course), but we are starting to get some pretty hefty details in regards to the filming cast; basically everyone apart from the Green Guy.

The official film synopsis given by the studio reads:

“Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.”

Let’s kick off the cast list, the team at the end of the last Avengers film will be directly included, so we have Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Don Cheadle (War Machine) and Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch)….that’s six straight away.

It has then been confirmed that Paul Rudd will make an appearance as Ant-Man after the release of the standalone film this Summer. We should also expect a visit from Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) before he has his own standalone film in 2018. Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) is named to appear despite his seeming departure in Age of Ultron and of course Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) will be back, establishing the rivalry between him and Cap that follows the comic story line; ten now.

Even though this will be an almost smaller sequel to Age of Ultron, the past of Winter Solider will make it into the new film. Sebastian Stan (bucky Barnes) will return at the Winter Solider, Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter) and Frank Grillo (Brock Rumlow) will also be returning.

Almost there, really. Daniel Brühl will be appearing as Nazi villain Baron Zemo, Martin Freeman will also appear, but no confirmed role for him just yet.. Lastly, William Hurt will make his first appearance in the film series since his debut in The Incredible Hulk back in 2008. That’s sixteen major roles, SIXTEEN; how will directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, give each of these enough screen time to warrant them? Who knows.

The directors have a tough job on their hand with this one, this will be the first film to include more than 2-3 other Avengers cast, leading almost directly off the Age of Ultron, but also having to make sure this has enough traction to stand alone AND set up for the rest of the film series.
I can’t wait for it, the chemistry all played on screen makes me like Captain America more and more with his unseemly witty responses that just doesn’t fit in with our very matured sense of humor. Are you excited for the rest of the series? Let us know in the comments.

Big Weights are No Problem for Homemade Exoskeleton

Who’s going to be the first to develop our next supersoldier? We’re not talking Captain America genetics or Robocop structure here, just strapping your average joe G.I into an exoskeleton and putting him to work – Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare style. America are often rumored to have things like this in the planning, we know China has the funding and the brains to carry it out.

Or maybe James Hobson, aka The Hacksmith, it the man we both need and deserve. Thie backyard bandit has developed his own personal exoskeleton by using simple household items like paper clips and rubber bands.

Ok we might be overstating it here, he’s not quite MacGyver, but either way we’re certainly impressed with his efforts.

Hobson’s exoskeleton has been filmed helping him lift 171.5 pounds (78kg) of cinder blocks without raising a sweat. Apparently a compressor upgrade could see him lifting much more as the current setup is running at half pressure.

If you’re interested to see exactly how it was designed, Hobson provides a work log guide to his upper-body creation. In saying this, there’s nothing strapped to his legs as of yet, so we’re hoping he gets some extra support before trying to lift something double the weight or more.

For all the fun, look no further than the video below.

TteSports Chao Dracco Captain Headset & Dracco Headphones Review

Introduction

We kick things off today with a look at not one, but two new products from the ever popular gaming brand TteSports. TteSports have been carving a solid reputation for themselves over the last few years, with countless great products hitting the market each year, most of which have walked away with a multitude of awards from us here at eTeknix. These awards have not only been for their great value for money, but also because of their laser like focus on the gaming market. Listening to what gamers want is vital, and TteSports involvement in the LAN gaming and eSports scene has been instrumental to their success. They’ve got pro-gaming teams of their own, while also sponsoring a few others, and that can be seen in products like the Captain headset we have here today, which is endorsed by legendary pro-gamer White Ra.

On one hand we have the Chao Dracco Captain gaming headset, a versatile PC headset that is ideal for online multiplayer and desktop use. On the other hand we have the Chao Dracco headphones, which keep much of the same styling we’ve come to know and love from the Chao range, but ditching the microphone entirely so that you can enjoy the same performance and quality when you’re out and about. While this is a comparative review, there is obviously a limit due to them both having different applications, but I am keen to see if the new headphone range is anything as good, or of course better in terms of performance than the desktop headset. A lot of headset companies forget that while online play does focus on voice chat a lot, some people (like myself) just prefer to play solo online, and never really need the microphone anyway. So long as audio performance is great, that’s often more than enough for some gamers.

Both headsets come nicely packaged, with White Ra on the front of the gaming headset, while the headphones feature a larger window to show off their highly flexible folding design.

Around the back of the boxes we have a quick run down of the major features and specifications.

The Captain headset ticks all the major boxes for a good gaming headset, with a 3 meter cable, large 50mm drivers, gold 3.5mm jack plugs, an omni-directional microphone, in-line controller and a removable cable.

The headphones have been tweaked a little and feature a shorter cable of just 1.5 meters, a single gold-plated 3.5mm jack plug, very similar sensitivity with just a +4DB at 1KHZ when compared with the headset, while still featuring large 50mm drivers like the headset.

The Dracco comes bundled with a little extra box of accessories.

In the box I found a high quality braided cable with gold-plated 3.5mm jack plugs and an in-line controller, a soft protective pouch for the headset and a warranty information leaflet.

The Chao comes with a similar box of accessories.

You’ll find a protective pouch for the headset and a warranty policy.
