“Setting the stage for the demonic Burning Legion’s devastating return. As the Horde and the Alliance battle against hopeless odds, heroes of both factions must seek salvation among the Broken Isles—ancient center of a doomed night elf civilization. There, they’ll take up mighty Artifact weapons and make a forbidden pact with the dread Demon Hunters of the Illidari—a final, desperate bid to save their world from falling under the Great Burning Shadow.”

“World of Warcraft: Legion is one of the most intense chapters in the Warcraft saga yet, filled with features and content that will push new and veteran heroes to their limits,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Whether players want to boost a new character or get a head start on mastering a Demon Hunter, they’ll be primed and ready to battle the Burning Legion when the expansion launches next summer.”

The Best Selfie in World of Warcraft Will Get You to Blizzcon

If you are a World of Warcraft fan, chances are that you have been at Blizzcon at least once by now. If not, then there might be a chance for Blizzard to send you there this year. What you have to do is get your best World of Warcraft selfie face on.

I know it sounds a bit odd for a selfie in World of Warcraft, but hey, Blizzard are known for cropping up weird competitions and getting you involved in the process. It looks like this competition will follow how players can work on making the best selfie in a lot of spots Blizzard picks for you.

So what Blizzard does is pick a spot for you each week. Then, you can go when you want during that week to the latter spot and try to do the best selfie you can imagine. The grand prize will be two tickets to Blizzcon this November, but that’s not the only thing you can win.

Blizzard says that each submission is eligible for weekly prizes and goodies, such as Blizzard branded gear, Battle.net codes and even an iPhone 6 to help you with your selfie problem in real life. Just kidding. In order to take part, head on over to the WoW Selfiel Scavenger Hunt website where you can find more details.

Closed Beta Testing for StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void Could Start at the End of March

The latest StarCraft title, Legacy of the Void, is said to be the closing story for the StarCraft 2 series. It was first announced at BlizzCon last year, but Blizzard did not mention when it will be released.

While Blizzard is known for taking its time with their titles, The Daily Dot gives some hope that the release date is close than expected. Their sources say that the closed beta for Legacy of the Void should be launched at the end of March or early April, pointing out that gaming press and esports organisations have been told to submit their requests for beta keys.

“It’s great timing for them. WCS Season 1 will be all but over and this will give players plenty of time to stream the beta and generate some excitement. As things stand the beta is pretty much ready to launch with the balance team just tweaking a few units.”

Blizzard stated that StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void will not be an expansion, but a standalone game. It is said to focus on the Protoss side of the story and should ultimately end the StarCraft 2 story as a whole.

BlizzCon: World of Warcraft Garrisons And How They Work

Players will finally get their own houses, after years of asking for a player house where you can feature the different feats and accomplishments that your toon has accomplished. Instead of just giving each character a house though, Blizzard is giving each character their own plot of land called a garrison. Garrisons will be available on the new continent of Draenor. Your garrison will be your own personal fortress where you will get to build up, manage and maintain your land.

Other players will be able to visit your garrison if they are in the party with you.

As a bonus with your garrison, you will be able to find and recruit and control NPCs that are known as Followers. Followers will join your cause if you find them when completing quests or if you hire mercenaries. Your followers will be able to work for you. Followers will go around your garrison to gather resources , craft items or even go out on missions to farm other items and gear for you. Your followers will have different traits that will allow them to go mining for you even if you are not a miner.

Your followers will go out and complete missions assist you. If your followers are able to successfully complete a mission they will bring you back valuable resources to help build your garrison up. These missions could help give you some epic loot for your character as well. Followers will also be able to level up themselves by gaining experience as well as meeting up with guildmates followers while you and your judgments are offline. As your follower levels up, gear will become more and more important as it will play a larger role in how successful they will be.

Garrisons will have a variety of different buildings in which you will be able to decide to place. All of the buildings will benefit you in different ways, Mines will allow your followers to farm ores, Farms will likely produce food and flowers, Barracks will allow you to have more followers. There are many more buildings. Garrisons will have different looks depending on the character’s faction, Horde characters will have different building looks than Alliance buildings. Each base will look completely different as each player will be able to place buildings where they feel it will be the most productive for them. Buildings will also increase in size and give different bonuses as they are leveled up. As your buildings level up, you will be able to decide on different options on how you want it to benefit you. As you level buildings up, they will give you missions, the higher the level, the longer the missions will be.

I personally can’t wait to test out the new features of the garrisons, and I am sure many of you can’t wait either. If you play WoW currently, are you excited about this new feature? If you don’t play WoW, would you be willing to try it out? If you’re interested in learning more about Garrisons and what they can do for you make sure you check out the page from Blizzard about them.

BlizzCon: About WarCraft Movie

Blizzard has announced that they finally have a release date for the film, and it is believed to be 18 December 2015. Though they have not even started filming. They also spoke a little on the idea of the film being about Orcs vs Humans and the First Contact: Lothar and Durotan.

My first thought when I heard about Warcraft the movie, I pictured a very cartoony movie, but this movie will not be cartoony at all, it will be photo-realistic. Using a half human cast while the other half will be computer generated. They are planning to do some really great things with this film. We wont see it for at least another two years.

It is unclear about what parts of Azeroth we will be seeing. We will see some really fine details, and everything will look and feel real. We will see different zones and different cities. Even if you don’t know anything about Warcraft you will be able to watch and enjoy the film, but if you are a fan, you will notice plenty of things that will match up very well with the games.

As much as you may feel each character within the world plays a vital role, the most important role is the world itself. We will see a number of the different races from both the Horde and the Alliance.

I would love to see the lore and how it plays out giving us a history of the game, the instances and even the zones of Azeroth. Blizzard doesn’t seem to be taking an approach of multiple feature films, but rather one film that covers everything. I feel that Blizzard could easily make a film on each zone and each city as well as the different instances. Giving us a ton of history and lore of Azeroth.

I felt the panel was extremely frustrating that they didn’t want to unveil very much about the film, so we will just need to wait until the movie moves further along in production.

Heroes Of The Storm MOBA Revealed

Today at BlizzCon I was able to hear quite a bit about Heroes of the Storm. This will be a solid multiplayer game, based entirely on teamwork. Really a big game, and the main intent of game designers is for friends to play together. Heroes of the Storm is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, much like other games in the same genre, but it has characteristics all of its own.

This is the second Free to Play game that Blizzard has announced. Originally the game was going to be a map available in StarCraft 2, yet it has evolved so much that it is going to be a game all by itself.

With this game, there will be tons of characters to choose from, all of them special and unique. Each hero will have special abilities using their iconic elements and combining them to create awesome characters. The abilities are designed to work well with who the character is, as well as allowing players to pick and choose what abilities they feel work best. Character customization is huge in this game, where players get to customize their heroes skin, abilities and more.

Fun with friends, strange superhero group.

Any gamer knows how it feels to be in a long drawn out game only to lose a match, with this game, matches are designed to be short, keeping them to around 20 minutes each. This allows gamers to play a few games while at lunch.

Teams, teams, teams. Heroes of the Storm primary focus is teams, I felt that they really drove that into our brains. This game is designed to be played as a team, as you progress, your team gains levels. If your team works together you will own the match, but if people decide to go off and do their own thing, the team is likely to lose the match.

This really looks like an awesome game “FOR THE STORM”. I can’t wait to try it out and customize my hero, and check out the new challenges. Not even in the beta yet, but we soon will have the opportunity to join in and play. Check out the official Heroes of the Storm page to learn more, and sign up for the beta.

Diablo III: Reaper Of Souls – New Game Modes Detailed

We see many new features and interesting things happening in Diablo III with their expansion Reaper of souls. Where you will battle it out at the end of Act Five with Malthael, the Angel of Death. Along with the addition of Act Five, we will see two new game modes.

  • Adventure Mode will allow players to go anywhere, and slay anything. The player should get to play when and where they want to play, so all of the waypoints in all of the acts have been unlocked. This will allow players to jump to any part of the game at any time.
  • Campaign Mode gives players the opportunity to focus more on the story. Players will get to play all of the quests, view all of the cut-scenes and in-game movies. This won’t be much different than current game play.

Bounties have also been added, if you want more of a guided approach while playing the game, but you don’t want to play the campaign, you will be able to play adventure mode. While in adventure mode, you will get bounties, which are random quests. In each game the player will be granted 25 bounties, 5 in each act. There will be a number of bounties including killing one of the 15 different bosses, to complete an event, kill a unique monster, even clearing a dungeon. When completing a bounty players will be granted experience, rift keystones as well as cool loot.

Nephalem Rifts, a completely randomized dungeon that can be up to 10 levels deep. In order to get into a rift you will need a rift keystone. While in a Nephalem Rift the game will defy all of the rules, mixing up monsters of different types, monster densities as well as layouts. Players will get some awesome buffs, the bosses will be challenging, mixed with randomness to bring back the awesomeness of Diablo.

Blizzard Entertainments “BlizzCon 2013” Approaches

We only have two days before the beginning of BlizzCon 2013. We have only been waiting 2 years for it to be here, and here it is. If you are a Blizzard Entertainment fan, then this is huge news for you. Bringing us new information on their franchises Diablo, StarCraft, WarCraft.

If you didn’t get a chance to pick up tickets to BlizzCon when they were on sale, you can still pick up your virtual ticket so that you can watch all of the fun and excitement from the two full days of information, contests, concert and more.

Blizzard Entertainment has three primary franchises Diablo, StarCraft and Warcraft, all of which we will hear about during BlizzCon 2013. There are a few other projects that we will likely hear about as well, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, Warcraft Movie and perhaps even the Titan Project.

Diablo 3 has been out for about a year and a half, and we will likely hear all about their expansion that will be released sometime in 2014. We can only hope that we get a nice demo, and hear about some of the awesomeness to come with this newest expansion. Will they give us a release date?

The StarCraft franchise will likely give us news on their next expansion, rumored to be called Legacy of the Void. Perhaps they will let us know about some cool new changes that we can see coming in later patches.

WarCraft has gotten itself bundled with World of Warcraft since I don’t really see Blizzard bringing WarCraft 4 to us any time soon, if ever. I am sure that we will hear about new changes that are evolving in Azeroth, and I am sure that the World of Warcraft team has some really interesting changes that are taking place, we may even hear about their next expansion. Will it be called Warlords of Draenor?

Hearthstone, still in closed beta we have heard very little about what is taking place in this card based video game, I hope that they will open the beta up so that I can play, because I would really like to give this game a run.

Blizzard DOTABlizzard All-Stars, Heroes of the Storm… Will Blizzard make up their mind already on what they are going to call this game? I mean we first heard about this in 2010 and it still isn’t released, though at first it was going to be a StarCraft 2 mod, now it sounds like it is going to be a freestanding game.

Warcraft the Movie, we have been hearing about this since 2006, and it looks like they might actually have some news for us, but will it ever really be released?

We can’t forget about “Project Titan”, in which Blizzard is creating an all new Massive-Multiplay Online Role Playing Game, in which they have given us little to no information on over the past few years. Though I doubt that they will tell us anything, they are going to be tight-lipped on the subject mater until it is further along in development.

What are you looking forward to at BlizzCon 2013? Question & Answers, Lore, Contests or Competitions?

I want to give a big thank you to Blizzard Entertainment for putting on this event this year.
