It Happened to Me: EA Origin Hacked, In-Game Content Purchased

Last night I was informed via email that I had purchased 3 different games from Origin, as well as an in-game item. This is not a common practice for me to purchase multiple games at one time, unless there is a Steam Sale going on. I opened the emails and my jaw hit the floor. Apparently I purchased 3 games while I was at work, without my computer in front of me.

I am the proud new owner of Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4 and FIFA 15, as well as in-game points for FIFA 15. Personally I would never pay full price for any of these games, yet alone drop the insane amount of money on all of these games at one time.

 • Assassin’s Creed Unity $59.99
 • Far Cry 4 $59.99
 • FIFA 15 $49.49
 • FIFA Points 100 $0.99

Grand total: $170.46

I immediately called my credit card company and canceled my credit card and ordered a new one to be shipped out, $15.00 rush shipping. Once I was home I was able to contact EA fairly quickly, under 10 minutes of wait time. Current wait times are well over 30 minutes and that is because I was not the only one. EA hasn’t really come out and said that this is a huge issue, at least not yet. I was able to find some fellow gamers that are on the prowl and ready to help on the EA forums, below is what one gamer posted to help out.

Follow the Steps to contacting an EA Game Adviser to fix this:

1 Click here to go to the EA contact page. Note: Top left pick your Country :]

2 Select your game and platform, Then click next.

3 Select a topic and write about your problem.

4 Click next and select your preferred contact method.

5 Ask for a callback if you can as it is fast when I used it.

You can contact EA here and here. Start by reading this to get your account back. Then read this to make sure it never happens again. Also, make sure to enable Login verification.

Now of course I was one step ahead, I changed my password once I got home, and was able to figure everything out on my own. I even enabled the Login Verification, so I am all set. I also was reimbursed all of the charges for my credit card, now what about my headache? I don’t know about you, but I am quite frustrated, I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to get my money back, and had to spend money to make sure that I am 100% secure in the future. I feel that EA should do something to rectify the situation, so I contacted them to as a few more questions.

Shane: Do you have a rough estimate on how many people this has affected?

Narendra: I apologize, but we don’t have information regarding any malicious hacker.

Shane: So are you denying that there has been a malicious hacker that has purchased unwanted games on users Origin accounts?

Narendra: I apologize, I am denying your claims… But there is no information provided to us regarding any malicious hacker.

I informed Narendra that there is a post on their forum with said issue. Their response was still to deny the issue.

Narendra: I apologize for the inconvenience, but we don’t have the data related to it

Cold shoulder, well that is kind of sad, I figured I would give them a chance to redeem themselves. Oh well. I hope anyone who has been plagued by this issue is able to get their issues remedied. Stay safe!

And now, Humble Bundle is bringing us the Humble Store.

BlizzCon: World of Warcraft Garrisons And How They Work

Players will finally get their own houses, after years of asking for a player house where you can feature the different feats and accomplishments that your toon has accomplished. Instead of just giving each character a house though, Blizzard is giving each character their own plot of land called a garrison. Garrisons will be available on the new continent of Draenor. Your garrison will be your own personal fortress where you will get to build up, manage and maintain your land.

Other players will be able to visit your garrison if they are in the party with you.

As a bonus with your garrison, you will be able to find and recruit and control NPCs that are known as Followers. Followers will join your cause if you find them when completing quests or if you hire mercenaries. Your followers will be able to work for you. Followers will go around your garrison to gather resources , craft items or even go out on missions to farm other items and gear for you. Your followers will have different traits that will allow them to go mining for you even if you are not a miner.

Your followers will go out and complete missions assist you. If your followers are able to successfully complete a mission they will bring you back valuable resources to help build your garrison up. These missions could help give you some epic loot for your character as well. Followers will also be able to level up themselves by gaining experience as well as meeting up with guildmates followers while you and your judgments are offline. As your follower levels up, gear will become more and more important as it will play a larger role in how successful they will be.

Garrisons will have a variety of different buildings in which you will be able to decide to place. All of the buildings will benefit you in different ways, Mines will allow your followers to farm ores, Farms will likely produce food and flowers, Barracks will allow you to have more followers. There are many more buildings. Garrisons will have different looks depending on the character’s faction, Horde characters will have different building looks than Alliance buildings. Each base will look completely different as each player will be able to place buildings where they feel it will be the most productive for them. Buildings will also increase in size and give different bonuses as they are leveled up. As your buildings level up, you will be able to decide on different options on how you want it to benefit you. As you level buildings up, they will give you missions, the higher the level, the longer the missions will be.

I personally can’t wait to test out the new features of the garrisons, and I am sure many of you can’t wait either. If you play WoW currently, are you excited about this new feature? If you don’t play WoW, would you be willing to try it out? If you’re interested in learning more about Garrisons and what they can do for you make sure you check out the page from Blizzard about them.

BlizzCon: About WarCraft Movie

Blizzard has announced that they finally have a release date for the film, and it is believed to be 18 December 2015. Though they have not even started filming. They also spoke a little on the idea of the film being about Orcs vs Humans and the First Contact: Lothar and Durotan.

My first thought when I heard about Warcraft the movie, I pictured a very cartoony movie, but this movie will not be cartoony at all, it will be photo-realistic. Using a half human cast while the other half will be computer generated. They are planning to do some really great things with this film. We wont see it for at least another two years.

It is unclear about what parts of Azeroth we will be seeing. We will see some really fine details, and everything will look and feel real. We will see different zones and different cities. Even if you don’t know anything about Warcraft you will be able to watch and enjoy the film, but if you are a fan, you will notice plenty of things that will match up very well with the games.

As much as you may feel each character within the world plays a vital role, the most important role is the world itself. We will see a number of the different races from both the Horde and the Alliance.

I would love to see the lore and how it plays out giving us a history of the game, the instances and even the zones of Azeroth. Blizzard doesn’t seem to be taking an approach of multiple feature films, but rather one film that covers everything. I feel that Blizzard could easily make a film on each zone and each city as well as the different instances. Giving us a ton of history and lore of Azeroth.

I felt the panel was extremely frustrating that they didn’t want to unveil very much about the film, so we will just need to wait until the movie moves further along in production.

StarCraft 2: Update 2.1 Bringing Some Huge Changes

StarCraft 2 has some serious changes coming into play and the development team is going to be empowering the community by releasing some new features. By far one of the biggest changes that I see coming will be to essentially make the game nearly free to play. Now the game won’t be entirely free to play, but it will allow people to play with their friends that don’t own a full version of the game.

Anyone who downloads the Starter Edition of StarCraft 2 will automatically scale to the expansion of the game that their friends are playing, whether that be Wings of Liberty or Heart of the Swarm. Arcade is also being fully unlocked, giving anyone the ability to play any of the player designed maps without needing to purchase the game.

Arcade players will also get extension mods, this will make it so that people who want to play a certain arcade map will be able to play all together without needing to download, and mess with settings to play a certain map.

Those who like to play the Arcade feature of StarCraft 2 will no longer need to worry about hosts who are AFK. This will promote other players in the queue to host if the host does not respond once the group is full, keeping the games moving, instead of having people in a queue for a match and then making them wait for a host that is not at their keyboard.

We will also be seeing some awesome new changes to groups and clans, which will give them the ability to setup events, with a calendar, as well as customizable logos. This is going to be a huge update, letting players fully customize their User Interface. Players will also get a level cap raise from 30 to 35 and those who reach the max level will get some cool new portraits and decals.

If you loved this information about StarCraft 2, and you want to know more about the changes coming out with patch 2.1 check out their official website.

Heroes Of The Storm MOBA Revealed

Today at BlizzCon I was able to hear quite a bit about Heroes of the Storm. This will be a solid multiplayer game, based entirely on teamwork. Really a big game, and the main intent of game designers is for friends to play together. Heroes of the Storm is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, much like other games in the same genre, but it has characteristics all of its own.

This is the second Free to Play game that Blizzard has announced. Originally the game was going to be a map available in StarCraft 2, yet it has evolved so much that it is going to be a game all by itself.

With this game, there will be tons of characters to choose from, all of them special and unique. Each hero will have special abilities using their iconic elements and combining them to create awesome characters. The abilities are designed to work well with who the character is, as well as allowing players to pick and choose what abilities they feel work best. Character customization is huge in this game, where players get to customize their heroes skin, abilities and more.

Fun with friends, strange superhero group.

Any gamer knows how it feels to be in a long drawn out game only to lose a match, with this game, matches are designed to be short, keeping them to around 20 minutes each. This allows gamers to play a few games while at lunch.

Teams, teams, teams. Heroes of the Storm primary focus is teams, I felt that they really drove that into our brains. This game is designed to be played as a team, as you progress, your team gains levels. If your team works together you will own the match, but if people decide to go off and do their own thing, the team is likely to lose the match.

This really looks like an awesome game “FOR THE STORM”. I can’t wait to try it out and customize my hero, and check out the new challenges. Not even in the beta yet, but we soon will have the opportunity to join in and play. Check out the official Heroes of the Storm page to learn more, and sign up for the beta.

Diablo III: Reaper Of Souls – New Game Modes Detailed

We see many new features and interesting things happening in Diablo III with their expansion Reaper of souls. Where you will battle it out at the end of Act Five with Malthael, the Angel of Death. Along with the addition of Act Five, we will see two new game modes.

 • Adventure Mode will allow players to go anywhere, and slay anything. The player should get to play when and where they want to play, so all of the waypoints in all of the acts have been unlocked. This will allow players to jump to any part of the game at any time.
 • Campaign Mode gives players the opportunity to focus more on the story. Players will get to play all of the quests, view all of the cut-scenes and in-game movies. This won’t be much different than current game play.

Bounties have also been added, if you want more of a guided approach while playing the game, but you don’t want to play the campaign, you will be able to play adventure mode. While in adventure mode, you will get bounties, which are random quests. In each game the player will be granted 25 bounties, 5 in each act. There will be a number of bounties including killing one of the 15 different bosses, to complete an event, kill a unique monster, even clearing a dungeon. When completing a bounty players will be granted experience, rift keystones as well as cool loot.

Nephalem Rifts, a completely randomized dungeon that can be up to 10 levels deep. In order to get into a rift you will need a rift keystone. While in a Nephalem Rift the game will defy all of the rules, mixing up monsters of different types, monster densities as well as layouts. Players will get some awesome buffs, the bosses will be challenging, mixed with randomness to bring back the awesomeness of Diablo.

There will be some really cool new monsters in Diablo III, with some completely new and revamped abilities such as back stepping and transformation. If you’re interested in learning more about the newest information about Diablo III: Reaper of Souls check out the official Blizzard website.

HearthStone: Blizzards Virtual Collectible Card Game

Over the years many of us have played Collectible Card Games (CCG), unfortunately it can be difficult to learn how to play, and it can be very time consuming. Blizzard was able to work through a lot of issues, making the game easy to play and easy to learn. HearthStone is a game designed for everyone. Even though the game is easy to play and learn, the game is deep. HearthStone is Free to Play, though there will be a market where you can use real money. There are going to be tons of different ways to play, as well as special rankings that will reset each month.

HearthStone, Blizzard Entertainments Free to Play Virtual Trading Card Game. Those of you who have the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket will pick up a special gift from Blizzard, a special gold trading card; Elite Tauren Chieftain with some rocking animations.

Your first thought when hearing about a CCG converted into a video game, you might think that the game would look very 2D, this is not the case with Hearthstone, which is very visual, and has tons of animations. Games are designed to play short, allowing players to start the game up, play for 10-20 minutes and be done playing.

HearthStone is going to be available to players on multiple devices, including Android, iPhone and tablets, not to forget PC and Mac versions.

Blizzard has given out over a million beta keys, and are still giving out more, if you haven’t gotten your beta key yet, don’t worry, HearthStone will be released to Open Beta next month; in Blizzard time, most likely in January

SpaceGlasses: Augmented Reality Glasses

Have you ever imagined being a superhero, like IronMan? Perhaps you wished that you could go around with your own personal Head-Up-Display which gives you vitals or statistics of the things that surround you. If you have then you might be interested to learn a little something about SpaceGlasses.

Startup Meta will soon be releasing a developer version of their newly invented product SpaceGlasses. With SpaceGlasses  you are able to interact with objects in a 3-dimensional world. Giving you special abilities to shape and mold the things around you, perhaps even allowing you to create your own fantasy world. Yes, there are a couple of other products out there that are similar, such as Google  Glass or even Oculus Rift. Google Glass gives you a single lens in which are you able to verbally command the product, and Oculus Rift is more of a display screen. SpaceGlasses are able to sense your fingers, and allow you to manipulate objects by touching them. Based on the video below, you will be able to play a game of chess, and even sculpt items for 3D printing.

Though the glasses seem a bit bulky, soon they may be as small as a pair of sunglasses, allowing users more comfort while wearing the device.

Developer versions of SpaceGlasses will start shipping in January, though you can pre-order now for a price tag of $667, OUCH. Though it is nearly half the price of Google Glass developer version, it still is not inexpensive. This new gadget could revolutionize computers in a short time though. Imagine sitting in your favorite lounge chair, staring at the ceiling or even laying out in a field of grass looking into the blue skies above while checking your email, or browsing the web. The possibilities are limitless.

Thank you to CNET for sharing this new gadget with us.

World’s First 3D Printed Metal Gun

Solid Concepts has produced the worlds first 3D printed Metal Gun. Not to be confused with the Liberator, which is printable on conventional plastic 3D printers. Solid Concepts users industrial grade 3D printers, which are able to produce metal products that need little to no machining. Solid Concepts isn’t getting into weapons manufacturing, but rather wanted to prove that DMLS was able to perform well for real world applications. In doing so they found blueprints for a 1911, which is public domain, and it was off to the printers.

Solid Concepts, Inc. is based out of California, though they have six facilities in the United States. Their Austin, Texas office is their only office that holds a federal firearms license. The company primary focuses on custom manufacturing, which includes engineering, manufacturing, production and even prototyping. They are able to produce many different products from precision equipment such as specialized equipment to products transportation parts, they are even involved in aerospace and unmanned systems.

In order to prove that Direct Metal Laser Sintering or DMLS is able to perform well in the real world. Solid Concepts ventured to prove that DMLS is strong enough, and accurate enough for real world applications. The 1911 sidearm was first introduced, as its name implies, and is still used today. The firearm is a single-action pistol, which has semi-automatic functionality, and is magazine fed. Every time it is fired, pressures within the chamber rise above 20,000 psi. Nearly all of the parts were produced via DMLS and consists of 33 17-4 Stainless Steel and Inconel 625 components. It was then decked with a selective laser sintered carbon fiber filled nylon hand grip.

DMLS is able to take 3D CAD data and split it into sections in order to produce a product then using powdered metal or alloy materials. The process of creating a product with the DMLS is fairly simple sounding. First they print with a metal powder, lower it surround it by sand, heat it up, thus creating a solid piece of metal. DMLS is highly accurate, and it is able to reproduce designs quickly.

Currently this technology is not available to just anyone, costing more than $500,000. These printers are being used in a professional environment, so I highly doubt that we need to worry about finding these on our streets in the hands of thugs.

I want to thank TechCruch for proving us with this awesome information and Solid Concepts for providing us with all of the data that we needed.

Call Of Duty: Ghosts – Fastest Selling Game Of All Time

Over the past 24 hours Call of Duty: Ghosts has given a swift kick to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V, taking away the reigns of Fastest Selling Video Game of all time. Ghosts topped $1 Billion in sales, surpassing GTAV’s $800,000 in sales over release days 24 hour period. Blizzard Entertainments “BlizzCon 2013” Approaches

We only have two days before the beginning of BlizzCon 2013. We have only been waiting 2 years for it to be here, and here it is. If you are a Blizzard Entertainment fan, then this is huge news for you. Bringing us new information on their franchises Diablo, StarCraft, WarCraft.

If you didn’t get a chance to pick up tickets to BlizzCon when they were on sale, you can still pick up your virtual ticket so that you can watch all of the fun and excitement from the two full days of information, contests, concert and more.

Blizzard Entertainment has three primary franchises Diablo, StarCraft and Warcraft, all of which we will hear about during BlizzCon 2013. There are a few other projects that we will likely hear about as well, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, Warcraft Movie and perhaps even the Titan Project.

Diablo 3 has been out for about a year and a half, and we will likely hear all about their expansion that will be released sometime in 2014. We can only hope that we get a nice demo, and hear about some of the awesomeness to come with this newest expansion. Will they give us a release date?

The StarCraft franchise will likely give us news on their next expansion, rumored to be called Legacy of the Void. Perhaps they will let us know about some cool new changes that we can see coming in later patches.

WarCraft has gotten itself bundled with World of Warcraft since I don’t really see Blizzard bringing WarCraft 4 to us any time soon, if ever. I am sure that we will hear about new changes that are evolving in Azeroth, and I am sure that the World of Warcraft team has some really interesting changes that are taking place, we may even hear about their next expansion. Will it be called Warlords of Draenor?

Hearthstone, still in closed beta we have heard very little about what is taking place in this card based video game, I hope that they will open the beta up so that I can play, because I would really like to give this game a run.

Blizzard DOTABlizzard All-Stars, Heroes of the Storm… Will Blizzard make up their mind already on what they are going to call this game? I mean we first heard about this in 2010 and it still isn’t released, though at first it was going to be a StarCraft 2 mod, now it sounds like it is going to be a freestanding game.

Warcraft the Movie, we have been hearing about this since 2006, and it looks like they might actually have some news for us, but will it ever really be released?

We can’t forget about “Project Titan”, in which Blizzard is creating an all new Massive-Multiplay Online Role Playing Game, in which they have given us little to no information on over the past few years. Though I doubt that they will tell us anything, they are going to be tight-lipped on the subject mater until it is further along in development.

What are you looking forward to at BlizzCon 2013? Question & Answers, Lore, Contests or Competitions?

I want to give a big thank you to Blizzard Entertainment for putting on this event this year.

If you were to pick these games up at retail you would pay over $120, but today, you can pick them up for what you are willing to pay for them.

Unfortunately, these games are not DRM free and are only available for download from Steam. Only Batman:Arkham City is available on both Mac and Windows platforms, all of the other games are available for Windows only.

If you decide to support this Humble Bundle, you get to choose how much and how you will pay. So many options to pay, bank account, credit card, paypal, amazon payments, or even pay with bitcoins. Don’t forget you say where your money goes, donate it all to charity, WB Interactive, or Humble Bundle, or divide it among the three organisations.

We will likely see a couple more games added to this bundle next week, and with so many more WB games I can’t even guess at which games they will offer us, but I am sure that they will be just as awesome! What games do you think they will bring us?

Thank you Humble Bundle for providing us with this information.

4D Printing, The Next Generation Of Printing

We have all heard of 3D printing, but have you heard of 4D printing? Probably not. 4D printing takes the same technologies of 3D printing, but with a slight change, objects printed in the fourth dimension have new abilities. 4D objects will be able to alter their shape or appearance over time, or even as a response. Object printed with this new tech will likely have special abilities such as bridges that are able to repair if a crack forms, or even “Adaptive pipes” that are able to expand or contract on their own. They could also have special camouflage characteristics that allow items to change color to match its surroundings. The possibilities do not end here, 4D printing allows you to think outside of the box, perhaps even producing weapons that can assemble themselves.

The United States Army Research Office has awarded three universities a total of $855,000 in order to advance the technology of 4D printing. The three universities include Harvard, University of Pittsburgh and the University of Illinois.

“Rather than construct a static material or one that simply changes its shape, we’re proposing the development of adaptive, biomimetic composites that re-program their shape, properties or functionality on demand, based upon external stimuli..” statement from Anna Balazs a Harvard researcher. Balazs also states “If you use materials that possess the ability to change their properties or shape multiple times, you don’t have to build for a specific, one-time use,”

Researchers will primarily focus on 4D-printing materials at the microscopic level. Some scientists have been able to produce objects on a larger scale, such as Self-Assembling cubes, which form once submerged under water, as well as other shapes. 4D printing breaks through the limitations of old 3D printers which work by layering materials to create objects. Though 3D printers have the ability to make toys, even weapons, some assembly is required most of the time. With 4D printing, just add water, and you have your object. They could possibly even last longer, and be more adaptable.

World Of Warcraft Expansion: Warlords Of Draenor

Blizzard Entertainment is fairly good about staying tight-lipped about their products until they have been released, but today we got word that Blizzard has filed for a trademark in Australia and New Zealand, it is unknown if they have filed for the trademark in the US yet. According to Intellectual Property Australia, Blizzard Entertainment has filed for a trademark for the words “Warlords of Draenor”. Which is likely to be the name of the next World of Warcraft expansion. We likely wont know more about this until late next week.

We haven’t heard much out of Blizzard about any new projects that they might have coming out in the future, though next Friday we have BlizzCon. Which I am sure that they will have much tell us about, perhaps even unveiling some of their plans for the future. The last BlizzCon was in 2011, holding off in 2012 in order to work hard on some of their projects. This new Trademark may be for any number of things, though it is likely to be for a new World of Warcraft expansion. But it could be for any number of things, including a fourth instalment of Warcraft, or even a expansion for Warcraft 3, though that is highly unlikely.

In the lore of Warcraft, Draenor was believed to be lost, torn from Outlands. The Draenei race, which was featured with the release of the Burning Crusade expansion originally were from Draenor.

Blizzard loves to give us rum ors to follow, and get our minds wandering, this could easily be Blizzard giving us a good tease, though the next expansion is due to be out soon. We can only hope that it turns out to be something interesting.

Cicadia 1.0: One Mans Goal To Become Cyborg

Have you ever thought about death? What about Life? I know I have, but I have never thought about becoming a cyborg.

Motherboard recently reported about a man with a goal, a goal to become a cyborg. Tim Cannon, self proclaimed “Biohacker”. Cannon’s goal is to live for a thousand year, and with this goal he has designed a computer chip that he has had implanted under his skin. The chip transmits his biometric data so that he is able to track his health on an Android device. Will this chip help bring a better understanding of how our bodies work?

Cannon is unable to go to a doctor, a plastic surgeon to have the chip placed under his skin. Instead, he the sought help of body modification enthusiast Steve Haworth, who used his own tools to cut open an area on Cannon’s arm and separate the skin from the fatty tissue in order to place the device in his arm. Since Haworth is not a board-certified surgeon, he was unable to use anesthetics. Once the procedure was complete he reported that he was completely exhausted.

The implant is called Circadia 1.0 which has an open-source platform, allows users to have control over the data, how it is collected and used. This implantable device can read biomedical data and transmits via Bluetooth. Allowing users to gather weeks even months of medical data in which the user can store for personal viewing. This device is strictly designed as a body modification/art purposes and is not a medical device.

Cicadia is designed to give users a better quality of life. For example Cannon explains

“I think that our environment should listen more accurately and more intuitively to what’s happening in our body… So if, for example, I’ve had a stressful day, the Circadia will communicate that to my house and will prepare a nice relaxing atmosphere for when I get home: dim the lights, let in a hot bath.”

Though it seems that the chip is still in its developmental phase, it has been said that it should be accessible to enthusiasts of the body modification community. To have the chip implanted will cost someone around $200 while the chip will cost around $500.

Do you feel that this is a step in order to turn a man into a cyborg? Or is this just a better way to track the statistics of your health, let us know in the comments below.

Nintendo Announces Zelda Special Edition 3DS XL

A new “Golden” edition Nintendo 3DS XL has been officially announced. Though it has been rumoured for quite some time now that there would be a “Legendary” version released. Mr. Eiji Aonuma officially announced this Special Edition Nintendo 3DS XL and has given a release date for November 22.

As the years have gone by we have seen many golden cartridges for Zelda games, now we are getting a Nintendo 3DS XL. Normally the 3DS XL would retail for $199 this special edition will retail for $219 but will also come with a digital copy of A Link Between Worlds which retails for $39. If you’re in the marked for a new 3DS then this may be the way to go, getting yourself a new Gold and Black Zelda themed handheld system.

A Link Between Worlds is set to release on November 22, the same day that the Nintendo 3DS XL bundle comes out.

“Hello everyone, I am the producer of The Legend of Zelda games, Eiji Aonuma. We have a tradition of making the Zelda series gold. Today, I would like to introduce a new product that follows that tradition. A gold-colored Nintendo 3DS XL that will be on sale the same day as The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. I am grateful for the fans supporting Zelda over the years. Please enjoy Link’s new adventure with the gold system”

The system is gold-colored just as you may remember the cartridge for The Legend of Zelda on the NES. Keeping true to the tradition the new 3DS XL will Gold on one the front, while the back will be black representing parallel worlds that Link travels to in the game. Both sides will feature the iconic Triforce on the exterior.

The game will be familiar to those who had hours of enjoyment playing A Link to the Past on the SNES, taking place in the same Hyrule after many years have passed. In A Link Between Worlds Link will venture between Hyrule and Lorule using a power that lets him become a drawing on walls. Players will get to solve puzzles and explore dungeons in a new way.

Amazon Raises Shipping Charges

Amazon has announced that they have made slight change, recently they upped their shipping charges. These changes are only to the FREE Super Saver Shipping, all of the other services will stay the same. If you still want to use the free shipping from using FREE Super Saver Shipping from Amazon, you will now need to place an order of at least $35 up from the normal $25 minimum that it has been for over a decade.

Amazon has loads of products that normally ship for free, and even more that use the Free Super Saver Shipping program, of course you could always just use Amazon PRIME which gives users free shipping without needing to fulfil a minimum order size as well as tons of FREE stuff!!!

AmazonPRIME is not only a shipping service, in which they offer users Free two-day shipping and require no minimum order size. They are trotting along with the digital age, offering users access to books, and movies for FREE. Amazon Prime users have access to over 41,000 movies and TV Episodes from Prime Instant Videos as well as over 350,000 eBooks that users are able to borrow from their extensive library collection.

If you’re interested in signing up for Amazon Prime, in order to save yourself a few bucks or even just to use as a movie or e-book service you can expect to pay $79 per year, though if you are a student or a mum you qualify for 50% off giving you the service for just $39 for the year. If you check out this link HERE you will be able to check out the rates for Amazon Prime.

Personally I do not see an issue with requiring someone to make a slightly larger order than they were planning. Most of the time users probably meet the requirements without even thinking. If you usually have an issue meeting the requirement, you can do what I do. Create a wishlist and when you place your order and it is a few dollars short add something from your wish list.

isoHunt.com Is Shutting Down

isoHunt is finally shutting down after seven years of lawsuits. The website is not being shutdown because of Government forcing, but rather a settlement offer that Gary Fung has agreed to on top of a $110,000,000, yes, One Hundred and Ten Million Dollar! Hollywood’s major movie studios sued isoHunt in 2006 and won its battle earlier this year. Hollywood’s major movie studios claimed that the site was promoting copyright infringement, and the 9th Circuit Cord of Appeals sided with them.

isoHunt is, or I should say was one of the most popular torrent sites available on the internet. With every site that goes down, multiple new sites come to light. Though I do not feel that torrenting kills different industries such as music, and videos, video games, or software. Long, long ago I would use Hotline to download music, but I wasn’t just downloading thousands of songs, movies and software titles. If I found something I liked, I would purchase the product. I have an extensive DVD collection, my CD collection includes well over 1,000 titles, I have a very large game collection, and I do not have one piece of pirated music, movie or software. In fact, many of the movies, artists and software titles that I have, I likely never would have purchased if I did not have access to the internet to preview them.

Today Gary Fung opened a new website which is simple WordPress site with only one posting:

“It’s sad to see my baby go. But I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. 10.5 years of isoHunt has been a long journey by any business definition, and forever in Internet startup time. It started as a programming hobby in my university days that has become so, so much more. It’s been a learning experience beyond what I imagined. I’ve done the best I could push the social benefits of BitTorrent and file sharing, the searching and sharing of culture itself, but it’s time for me to move on to new software ideas and projects.

There’s so much I want to write about. Some I want to take time writing about, some I can’t talk about. Since someone from Hollywood got the news out of our pending shutdown already, I just want to get a bit of my side of the story out with this post.

FYI, this is the last part of our lawsuit I haven’t talked about yet. Our SCOTUS petition.

I’m working on new projects, so this is not a good bye, but announcing a new beginning for yours truly. You’ll be hearing from me soon. Stay in touch with me on garyfung.ca.”

Earlier this year, it seemed that Fung had some other ideas for isoHunt, unfortunately he will no longer be able to use the site address… I am sure he will be bringing us some interesting things in the future though!

“For the next 10 years, I’m imagining a reboot of isoHunt. From a mostly passive search engine, to a new system where you the consumer can be active participants in bringing creators on board, and you can frictionlessly contribute to the creators.”

What are your thoughts on torrenting? Did you use isoHunt, if so, which service will you use now?

CISPA Back For Third Time

C.I.S.P.A. is back again? As I told you in April, it hasn’t quite made it out of the press room. DemandProgress.org shared this information with us today.

Apparently Congress leaders seem to want to keep Anti-Piracy, Censorship, and Internet Security on the top of their todo list. Though the people have told them that this is not something that they want, Congress seems to think otherwise. It is probably because Big Business keeps lining Congress members pockets trying to pass these ridiculous laws.

It has been rumored that California Senator Diane Feinstein and Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss, are working on a ‘Companion’ bill for CISPA, both leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Both Senators are strong supporters of NSA mass surveillance.

Apparently the senators did not get the memo that CISPA failed to win support from the US Senate earlier this year, though after the issues with Edward Snowden, CISPA may have a bit more leverage. Though I don’t know how private companies sharing information about their users to the United States Government could have stopped the massive leak of information about the Government using the law to spy people.

CYBERSECURITY, CYBERSECURITY, CYBERSECURITY!!!

Yeah, I don’t really think so, right now in the cyber world you want to be very careful about what you type on the internet, in blogs, even in chat messages on facebook, as I feel you never know who really is watching. A few months ago I found a really funny site, which can be found HERE that gives you a random sentence for you to email, tweet or otherwise share to the internet to screw with NSA. Where you might get a quote like this

In one possible future, terrorists exploited the weapons grade plutonium the Doc stashed in his DeLorean.

Though there has been little information released about the new bill, we will need to keep you updated. Hopefully the actual text will be publicly released soon.

The Snowden Leaks about NSA is spying on people it makes me worry about what I am posting on the internet. Am I going to get someone knocking at my door from some no-named agency of the United States Government because I said something that they felt was some sort of threat?

Our private data needs to be kept PRIVATE, if we post something on the internet and it is not accessible from the random public, that makes it PRIVATE!

Thank you DemandProgress.org for providing us with this information.

Have Nvidia Been Bribing System Integrators To Use Their Hardware Exclusively?

NVIDIA and Origin PC have both been accused by SemiAccurate of some possible anti-trust dealings. Origin PC a large custom computer retailer, has been accused of being bribed by NVIDIA in order to drop AMD Graphic Processing Units from their lineup.

According to Engadget

“This decision was based on a combination of many factors including customer experiences, GPU performance/drivers/stability, and requests from our support staff. Based on our 15+ years of experience building and selling award winning high-performance PCs, we strongly feel the best PC gaming experience is on NVIDIA GPUs.”

I wanted to do my own research, so I contacted Origin PC chat support. They told me that I could find all of the answers to my questions in two different sources; not offering me one official Origin PC source. Both of which had interviews with Kevin Wasielewski, CEO and Co-Founder of Origin PC.

Their first source was from Neowin.net. John Callaham of Neowin, interviewed Wasielewski and gave a Q&A style interview, covering several different areas of dropping AMD GPU’s.

Their second source was from GameFront. Devin Connors of GameFront is a bit more straight to the point, asking two very specific questions.

Devin Connors: Has Origin PC received any incentive, cash or otherwise, from Nvidia that led to the discontinuation of AMD GPU sales by Origin PC?
Kevin Wasielewski: No. In fact, I called my NVIDIA rep and told them I am dropping AMD. Not the other way around.

DC: Did SemiAccurate reach out to you for comment before they published their article today?
KW: They did not reach out to me. No calls, emails, or tweets.

What are your thoughts about AMD graphics cards give us the good and the bad.  Do you think that Origin PC was bribed or even took a bribe to drop AMD from their GPU lineup?

Google Web Traffic Accounts For 5% Of All Internet Traffic In The UK

Google is a large part of the internet, but really how large is it? According to The Telegraph, Google websites are over 5 percent of web traffic in the UK, in short 1 out of every 20 websites visited are Google-owned.

Google Chrome, Google’s web browser turned 5 years old a month ago. The web browser is available for Windows, MacOSX and Linux, as well as both Android and iOS. Though I was not able to find any numbers on how many people use Google Chrome opposed to other web browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera, or Internet Explorer; I would assume that Google Chrome has the majority of users.

As for their search engine, there are a few other search engines. Personally I use Google for my searches, I like the format, it is simple to use, and I am usually able to find exactly what I am looking for in just a few seconds. Though some of you may use Yahoo or Bing instead of Google, Google is perhaps the most used.

Google owns many of the websites that we visit every day: Blogger, GoogleDrive, Google Play, Google+, Google Maps, Google.com, Gmail, YouTube, and Google.co.uk.

Google is in so many different parts of the electronics market that it would be hard for someone to not know who they are. They are perhaps even the largest electronics based company with a head count just shy of 45,000 employees. I can only assume that they will continue to grow as they acquire more businesses and come out with new products. Though it looks like they have terminated over 10,000 employees after their Motorola acquisition.

Do you use Google.com as your search engine, or you their other products, let us know in the comments below.

Grand Theft Auto PWNS The Guinness Book Of World Records

Grand Theft Auto IV hasn’t even been out for a month yet, and it has already broken seven Guinness World records.

 1. Bestselling action-adventure video game in 24 hours
 2. Bestselling video game in 24 hours
 3. Fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion
 4. Fastest video game to gross $1 billion
 5. Highest grossing video game in 24 hours
 6. Highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours
 7. Most viewed trailer for an action-adventure video game

GTA V was released to XBox and PlayStation on September 17 around the world making over $800 million in sales on launch day. On day three GTA V passed over $1 billion in sales.

GTA 5 was perhaps one of, if not the most anticipated games for 2013, and it hasn’t even been released for PC yet. Though rumors are speculating that PC gamers wont be waiting long to get in on the chaos of Los Santos and Blaine County. Rumors state that the game will be released as early as November 22.

Rumors of a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V have been rife. Last month, reports stated that the game will indeed be available for PCs, and it will be released November 22, 2013 though games don’t usually release on a Friday, I would assume it would be on either the 19th, or the 26th of November. I wont hold my breath though, as I have been anticipating a release date of around Mid- to Late March.

Are you anticipating the release of GTA V for PC, or are you happy with playing it on console? Let us know what your thoughts are of the newest edition of Grand Theft Auto are. When do you think that we will see GTA V released to PC gamers?

Ford Develop Car That Can Take Over The Steering To Avoid An Accident

Step aside Google Car, Ford is stepping in. According to BBC, Ford is working on its own research for a “Smart Car”. Though it doesn’t appear to drive a vehicle all by its self, it seems that the feature is only a safety feature, one that could possibly save some lives.

Ford is working on a system called “Obstacle Avoidance” which will warn a driver of dangers on the road, such as a possible collision. They system has a built-in display which shows the driver a warning sign, also sounding chimes. If the driver does not react the car will take control, by applying the breaks and/or looking for a gap and steering to avoid a crash. The system scans up to 200 metres ahead of the vehicle using three radars, several ultrasonic sensors as well as a camera.

Personally I find this feature and any feature that allows a vehicle to have any control of what you’re doing while driving to be scary. Perhaps that is why I drive a car that does not have a computer in it. I have driven quite a few vehicles over the years, but I prefer cars without computers. I guess I am old school, then again I could be considered paranoid that a hacker is going to take control of my car and send it out of control.

What are your thoughts on these “Smart Car” ideas? Would you want a car that had the ability to take control and steer you away from the dangers of the road? Chime in below and let us know.

Thank you BBC for providing us with this information.
